This place is great. great addition to the area. Noodles, soups all good. Butter tea is an acquired taste but it won me over.

I LOVE Phayul! The quality is very healthy, fresh & delicious and the portions are generous, especially with the spicy sauce. Not your avg delivery option, It felt like I was actually doing something good for my body, not cheaply made, no msg, no grease, no crap. The potato momo are soo huge fluffy and comforting, especially on a cold wintery day! I wanted to give 4 stars b/c the guy was 20min late but the food was so good I dont care anymore and will definitely choose Himalayan over Thai from now on and will Make this a rockin lunch special or dinner delivery staple!

In one word: delectable. This place is authentic as you can see them constructing the momo by hand. It is a great sight to see the steel wok filled with ingredients as the roaring fire underneath heats it up! I know this place is in demand. Every time I visit, Phayul is packed with people from all over NYC sometimes Westchester. I meet tourists that come into just try their awesome food. I love this place!(They also recently renovated it, so it is beautiful with wooden furnishings.) To be honest, I was hesitant to review it… but what the heck! Sharing is caring! :)

I live a block away from this store. I love their food. Lhasa Potato is the must have item. They definitely should add some Indian dishes to their menu… Hope more people know about this restaurant and come to this place.

So this space has been cursed. At least 5 different restaurants in the last 5 years. But this one may very well change that streak. I have had delivery a few times without issue. Now the food: everything we have had has been excellent. The noodles are delicious, fresh and not oily. The spicy potatoes are a must as well as the veggie momos. The manchurian chicken is also unbelievable — my wife who rarely enjoys any Asian cuisine loves each of these dishes and it has become our goto quick dinner spot over any local restaurant. We highly recommend it and look forward to working our way further down the menu.

Ordered delivery and it was quick and the food was hot. I tried the beef fried Momos and the steam chicken Momos. They were delicious and the spicy sauce it came with was hot and flavorful. I will order again but try something new next time.

Fantastic food and great service! The food is great, we have been there about 5 times and the Sushi is always fresh and the service is excellent! I highly recommend them. The apps, veg, noddles and sashimi are clean and fresh.

Food is ok but i had better, is a litlle high price and litlle food quantity, considering the location and the fact that is a new restaurant is litlle expensive also people wanna eat and they not gonna spend 20 $ to try new food and lot of people are not familiar with asian dishes(Tibetan), going on this flow this restaurant is not gonna make it, if they don’t do some price changes and some ambiance change this place is not gonna last.

Chicken Mongolian with gravy is the most delicious thing. Small chunks of chicken in a green sauce made up of ginger, scallions, garlic and oil. If you get momos, get the fried beef ones.

I’ve had takeout from these folks a couple of times and it’s been really good. We had both the chicken and the beef momos(beef were better, but the chicken were great when I added salt). The potato appetizer was shockingly good. Strignbeans were outstanding. Various other dishes quite good. Only clunker was the ginger pork, which was kind of tough. Not terrible, but not worth getting. Delivery was rapid and food arrived hot. Prices are reasonable. PS – Some things seem a tad bland at first, like the chicken we had, I think it was Phayul Chicken, but they’re just mild – and delicious. Food comes with containers of *really* spicy sauce, I mean they should have a skull and crossbones on the lids, and some things also benefitted from a little soy sauce.

This place is really wonderful and the staff are some of the friendliest we’ve encountered in Jackson heights /east elmhurst. We live almost right next store and have eaten here twice. The portions are large and done well for a more than reasonable price. It’s very well done and probably one of our new favorites in the area. Have yet to try the sushi but the thanthuk soup is yummy!

The #36. Lhasa Potato Steam Momos with Sweet and Spicy Sauce 1 + 7.00 were neither spicy as requested, nor that great. The Laping didn’t impress for $ 4 either.

I was prepared not to like this place. I had tried Tibetan food twice before, and was twice disappointed with dry and tasteless chicken. Added to that fact that I had fought traffic for 2 hours from Brooklyn, and had just had dental work. I am really glad I tried this gem of a place. What a joy this place is. I had the Phayul Chicken, and it was a success. The dish was simple, but filled with flavor. Fresh bok choy, a hint of sliced garlic, fresh lemon grass, some other fresh vegetable, and shreds of tender white meat chicken, in a bit of chicken broth, combined to make this a simple, but compelling dish. Served with a bowl of rice, I used the chicken broth over the rice to give it some zest. As an added friendly gesture, they poured me two expression-sized cups of hot, sweet, buttered tea, since it was cold out. The menu is extensive, with many vegetarian options. My portion was just enough for me, and helped improve a mediocre evening. Four stars instead of five due to the lack of parking in the neighborhood, certainly not their fault, and the choice of pop music a bit louder than I like. Mere quibbles! Next time, I’m coming here with my wife.

Walked in to Phayul with few friends due to being in the area, super hungry, and having never tried Himalayan food before. Wanted to try something totally different… But trying to find«Something different and new» without going extreme seem very difficult these days… The ambiance was very asian in nature and quiet. We ordered 1 appetizer and 4 entrees. Price was very fair, service was great, presentation was simple and nice. Food was similar to Traditional Chinese(not fast food Chinese) but healthier and lighter. My personal fav was the hand drawn noodle soup.

The restaurant is nice, the ambiance is very laid back, the owners/employees were very friendly. The person behind the bar allowed us to try their traditional butter tea from the Himalaya. It had a very unique taste, it was salty but yet sweet also milky, almost like an ovaltine consistency. We ordered the our meal to go — the potatoe dish, I loved — it had such delicious spices to it, spicy but yet not too over bearing. It almost reminded me of Italian spicy sausages. We also ordered the vegetable hot soup with hand pulled noodles — scrumptious! The noodles had a nice texture, the flavor of the vegetable was all there. We also ordered the fried beef momos, definitely a must! Taste good with the spicy chili sauce and the other hot sauce that was given which had a vinegar taste to it. I would definitely come back again to try their other dishes! I rarely give places 5 stars — this absolutely deserve their 5 stars from great customer service to delicious foods!

The beef momos were decent but nothing special. The chicken fried rice was not very good as it had hardly any flavor. It was like they took one of those rice-a-roni boxes of rice and threw in a bag of peas and carrots. The chicken was tiny cubes of meat which seemed odd. I gave the place two stars because they have a nice selection of Himalayan food and I’m being hopeful that their other dishes are better.

I tried it on Saturday. Nice clean place, the staff was friendly and even gave me a small cup of butter tea while I waited for my take-out.(If you haven’t had butter tea, it is an unusual taste.) I really liked all the food I had. I didn’t plan on going so I just ordered momos & another appetizer. My only objection was the wait, 25 minutes for 4 apps. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt being that they’ve only been open a week and I did get there pretty early. Unlike their first restaurant, this one has delivery. I will definitely try them again.

First time at Phayul. Haven’t had the chance to visit their 74th St. Location yet, but found this new location closer to home. Ordered the steamed chicken momos and fried beef momos, & fried noodles with chicken. Steamed chicken momos: accompanied by a spicy slaw, but even if you eat them alone, it is flavorful on its own. The dough is a bit thick, but not too overpowering. Fried beef momos: the dough of this fried momo isn’t bad at all. Not greasy, and it tastes good with the beef. It is accompanied by this spicy orange sauce. Fried noodles with chicken: not greasy, good portion size, very tasty. If you like spicy food, their sauces are for you! If you like a little spice, use their condiments sparingly. It is very good though! Staff is very friendly and this location is bigger than their original location. Will be back to try other dishes.
