It might be a great show and good food, but the attitude I got from the owner had me heading for the exit. I got nothing but attitude from the owner when I asked about the advertised horse-drawn wagon rides. The greeter at the front desk was great. When I asked about the advertised horse-drawn wagon rides that are featured on their website, the greeter was explaining that their consessionaire had fallen out at the last minute and they had to substitute a train ride. The owner happened to walk up at that moment and when I mentioned that they needed to update their website(since I would now have to explain to my daughter who was celebrating her 6th birthday and looking forward to the wagon ride) the owner told me that there are ups and downs in life and, essentially, she should learn to deal with disappointments. After the owner left, the greeter politely told us that we could get a refund. The blonde at the register who handled the refund must be related to the owner an she was also rude and unsympathetic. All it would have taken for us to stay was a simple, «I’m sorry.» In fact, if the owner hadn’t opened his mouth, we probably would have stayed as the greeter was apologetic and sympathetic. I understand that things happen, but there is never an excuse for treating a guest rudely.

Awesome, awesome, awesomeness! Had the time of my life here. The atmosphere was great, the food was good, and the show was superb! The guys are hilarious and excellent singers! If you are into western music and food this is a must go for anyone in the area!

The food was good. The show was GREAT. I am not a western music fan but you can’t help appreciate musical talent. Really enjoyed the show. Dinner and show a bargain at $ 30. I highly recommend it.

What a fabulous evening. Music my goodness moved my earth and heaven Yup, spell binding. Incredible presentation. Smoothly organized and professional in every way. Made a special evening into an exceptional and memorable western country musical extravaganza. One evening I will always remember for a long while. Chuck«yummy«wagon Delicious and plentiful …

Okay, so I’m not sure where the previous people who stated the food is good are from, but, I’ve eaten better food at military chow halls. I would say it was the worst food I’ve had out in a long time. Beans had no flavor, BBQ chicken was bland, potato was hard, lemonade no, water with a hint of lemon yes, only thing i would consider palatable was the bread and apple sauce. Also, a guest at our table asked the MC guy a question and his reply was more smart mouth than funny as I think he thought he was being. Nobody at our table was amused. We left before the show started as the experience up to that point was terrible. Not worth the money and maybe they should invest in some ceiling fans and hire someone that can cook versus family members that cannot. If you have ever been to any dinner theater shows in Pigeon Forge TN then you will understand the comparison.

Best performance I have ever seen them do. If you get a chance go watch them you won’t be disappointed.

We had a lot of fun at Bar-J. The food is good, portions are generous, and the show alone is worth the price of admission. Instructions on making cowboy coffee and the history of the chuckwagon were a bit longwinded, but overall it was a very enjoyable experience. I highly recommend it and will go back the next time we are in Jackson.

This is a good time. The food is average but you are also paying for the entertainment. It’s a fun stop but the MC for the dinner show was a bit long winded – we didn’t need a lesson in cattle, just sayin! Overall this was a boot scootin good time.

What an amazing experience– for an avg price of $ 30 you get a pretty good BBQ dinner with a fantastic show afterwards. The music is unbelievable– I was shocked at the level of talent on the stage and may just buy an album or 2 online! Definitely a must-do for tourists in the Jackson Hole area!

I don’t know how to write a review for this place that won’t make some people never show up and other people make a special trip. The food is decent. The entertainment is talented, musically. The attitude is white, Christian, and judgmental. After the dinner, for which they gave time for prayer and finished with an amen, there was an old times country music/comedy show. This included a slam against Hillary Clinton and Caitlin Jenner. Both elicited significant cheers from the audience. Most likely, I will never show up at this place again. If I do it will be for the dinner and not the show.

We really enjoyed the show, the food and the entertainment, but the hour plus wait even after making reservations was horrible in the summer heat. Please assign seats with reservations or at least install fans in the waiting area!

Great, Great evening. Took my Wife Connie, my Mother Deon, and her friend Helen for dinner on Friday night. I’ve been several times and I always leave impressed. The food is served buffet style in about 15 minutes they will feed 3 – 400 people! Pretty amazing. Food is chuck wagon style old western camp wagon. Very nice feel to the place. Great big olé barn to serve & entertain everyone. I had the Rib eye it was huge & excellent. Lil woman had the chicken(of course) & the other had the beef. Plenty of food. With a all the fixings for a good olé western style dinner. The western style fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bass were all in great form as usual. Their voices are very good harmony and they do a real good job. Definitely a older type crowd as you can imagine but it’s a lot of fun. Definitely recommend this place!!! Bring the whe family, eat a good meal & get entertained what can be better than that?

Looking for«Local Flavor»? This is it! Kick back and relax for an entertaining show with hot BBQ meal and some soulful bluegrass performances from the Bar J family. Is it the absolute best BBQ I’ve had? No, but it’s better than average and most certainly good enough to satiate your appetite. I would not recommend a group of young bucks to come here, regardless of the«fun-for-all-ages» claims. This place is geared for families trying to entertain their children and their grandparents. The environment and staff are extremely positive, which helps spur on conversation with your tablemates. But if you’re with your buddies, you’ll be more entertained by exploring the outdoors and spending the evening in Teton Village.

It was great! Great atmosphere and the food is as good as I expected. They get you through the food line QUICK!(600 people =15 minutes) the show was fun and it does have some history that is fun to know about. Everyone is very kind and it has the family feel. The only thing is it’s on the spendy side, but I’m trying not to look at it for the value ;)

You haven’t lived until you’ve heard a cowboy quartet do Billy Jean. It’s dinner and a show at the Bar J. Open from May to Sept inWilson, WY. They’ve been offering up their cowboy grub and cowboy songs for almost 40 years. It’s a family affair with everyone pitching in. The food evokes a meal you’d get on the trail. Beef, potatoes, beans, corn bread, cake. Chicken for the birdatarians. Get the ribs, they’re the best. Go thru the line again for as much roast beef as you want. No booze. It’s family entertainment. They tell you about the meal. No Starbucks. They put the coffee grounds in a boot length sock from Walmart and boil the dickens out of it. Beans, nothing fancy, as cheap as they can get them. They have this down to a science. After the meal, it’s show time. An hour of cowboy songs and patter. It’s a hoot. Not a bad way to spend the evening when visiting Jackson and the environs.

Great family outing. These guys are true professionals. Ribs are phenomenal, spice cake too. Bring water if you come early, Cokes are $ 2…no refills. Kids can play out back if the night goes long, our littles made it thru half the night. Hope this gang is around another 40 years.

I’ve been here three times growing up and look forward to returning in the near future. Keep in mind that they do have a seasonal timeframe where they perform their shows and when they do not. Only spring through early fall. The food is decent(not great). There’s plenty of it, and the show is VERY entertaining and fun to take in. It’s true that there isn’t any alcoholic drinks, but I think it’s not the end of the world for some to go an evening without getting plastered. You can always go back to your hotel or favorite bar afterward and if that’s too difficult for you to deal with, just don’t bother going at all. The kids enjoy it because there’s a big open dining hall where they can run around and get out some energy. The food line is surprisingly organized and efficient. I don’t know if they still have someone doing it, but when we went there was baking powder biscuits with butter, and honey being cooked in a dutch oven for your enjoyment while you wait in the very long line. There’s also souvenir shops for their cd’s and your other basic souvenir options. They have been known to sign some autographs afterward and I always have enjoyed that opportunity of chatting with the performers.

Reasons To Go: 1. The food is PLENTIFUL!!! I had the ribs and my husband had the rib eye(served medium). Huge portions, couldn’t finish them all, AND even if you do… you can go back for 2nds. 2. Efficient. Everyone had their food in 20 min or less. SERIOUSLY. 3. The Show. OK, I’m not a country music fan, but if you appreciate any type of music, JUSTGO. Their banjo, fiddling, singing is AMAZING. The picker is so talented! Loved him! AND I think I fell in love with the guy with the base vocals(shhh…don’t tell). Tips: 1. Go early! Like an hour before show time to get the best seats.

SImply awesome! Atmosphere, pageantry of the dinner, all great. Food is EXCELLENT! Prices are fantastic! If you don’t believe me, try feeding a family at a restaurant for the same amount of money! Gorgeous countryside, the drive is awesome. Absolutely a MUST for visitors and regulars alike.
