Carlo’s Pizza

As I was driving towards my next stop, I noticed this shopping center with a sign that said «pizza». It was almost lunch time and I love pizza so I thought I’d stop there to eat on the way back from my sales call. My GPS tried sending me a different way, but I was relentless and wanted to eat some pizza!
I walked into Carlo’s and it was empty; albeit it was 1140am, a little early for lunch for some.
I ordered 2 plain slices and a small soda. This place has that laid back, old school feel to it, which I love. I gave the guy money and then used the rest room; when I returned I had change and fresh pizza waiting for me.
The bathroom was disgusting; but bathrooms are normally disgusting.
The pizza was way above the quality I am used to in New Jersey. It had the crispy bottom crust I love and the ingredients were quite tasty. This isn’t the BEST pizzeria I have ever been to by far, but it was definitely a change of pace for NJ.
3.5÷5 stars; 4 is a bit overly generous but I’ll round up as I normally do.
If you’re in the are during lunch time, $ 5.25 for 2 and a small soda. Not bad.

Pizza is always done the way I like it, nice and crispy on the bottom. They are generous with their toppings. The meatball parmagiano has large soft meatballs and lots of gooey cheese on top of hot toasted bread.

These guys do a good job!
Good Pizza at a fair price

Not a fan. In Jackson there are like 34 pizzerias so you gotta «wow» me.
Theirs does not.

This is a great community-​friendly pizza place. They are always there to lend a hand when we need pizza for parties at Switlik School.
I absolutely LOVE that they offer whole wheat crust, which, after maybe 1 ½ slices, I am FULL.
They use very good-​quality ingredients, and have a decent variety. I’d order from them more if I wasn’t surrounded by so many pizza places already!

I just called for a delivery and the menu that was delivered to my house was $ 12.50 for a sicilian so i paid for it over the phone. they said 45min. and it took 1hr 15min. so it was late. Then I asked the delivery guy if he could give me change and he said he had no money on hime (what pizza joint sends out a delivery withour change?) so I ended up giving him a $ 5 tip.
I then check my receipt and I was charged $ 15.45 so I called to ask about the charge and the fact that they sent a delivery without change and his answer was «you got the old menu» and we charge a delivery fee.
Wow I don’t think I will go back.

The pizza I grew up with. I love this pizza so much. Quality toppings, great sauce, delicious cheese, thin crust, can’t ask for more. They’ve had the same faces there since I was a kid. Love grabbing a slice when I’m back in Jackson.
Suggestions for those who go here:
For pizza I love a large one-​topping with bacon. If not, they have a great chicken parm pizza that is literally always available by the slice if you stop in. The wings are also very good. Breaded and tossed in a hot, but sweet/​tangy sauce. Love them. Also can’t go wrong with a chicken parm sub. I’ve had all of these dozens of times.
Other pizza spots in Jackson come and go. This one is here to stay!
