VERY dangerous place! The price was inexpensive and I wasn’t really going to be in the room much, so I didn’t mind issues with lights, clocks, the safe, and refrigerator not working properly. You get what you pay for. The disturbing part was that I received a call at 10PM, waking me up. The gentleman claimed that the inn’s computers went down, and he needed all of my information again to put it back on file. I refused to provide him with my name or credit card information, stating that I would not give that information on the phone. If there was a problem, They’d see me in the morning. He then said, «Can you come to the desk now, so that we can take care of this? I mean, if there is a fire, I don’t even have your name on file.» I said absolutely not. He hung up on me. The next morning, as I was checking out, I asked the older lady at the desk if there was a man on duty last night. She said no. I told her I had received a call. She said, «Oh, that’s a scam. It’s been going on all over Jackson. They park at that hotel there, the Red Roof Inn, to see who is coming and going. Then, they call and tell folks that the computers went down.» I look bewildered and then told her that it was very dangerous, and that this man asked me to leave my room to come to the front desk. She shrugged her shoulders and said, «Well, the police say they can’t do anything.» I suggested that she warn guests, as someone could get hurt. With a wave of the hand, she let me know that she wasn’t concerned. VERYDANGEROUS!
