I LOVETHESEBURGERS! but kind of hate the fries :-( The double with bacon and cheese is my favorite drive through burger with no competition, while the fries are the worst second only to Wendy’s yucky fries. They are very dry, shoestring style. The only redeeming characteristic is the seasoning on the fries and their special«fry sauce» is kind of all right. Worst thing ever… they forgot the seasoning on the fries on our last family order, nearly inedible. Another thing, NOHOTSAUCE! The spiciest they have is barbeque, and the staff do get irritated when you continue to press on the lack of hot sauce. To feed my family 3 double burger meals and a chicken tender meal is around $ 35. Kind of pricey for drive thru… but those burgers keep me coming back!!! :-) Haven’t tried anything else!

Very good steak burgers and fries. The burgers were juicy and cooked perfect. I would definitely eat here again very reasonable prices

First of all, driving by the place made me think it was more like a Johnny Rockets or Steak ‘n Shake– yunno, dine-in, full service. So… got that wrong. Expected at least Five Guys quality. Nope, got that wrong, too. I paid over $ 8 for a dainty all-beef dog with Freddy’s sauce I could barely taste, a floppy steak burger with a thin layer of meat, and fries that were basically small potato sticks. I don’t mind fast food when I’m craving a burger, but that totally did NOT hit the spot that even a quick $ 2 meal could fulfill at McDonald’s. Not only did the food feel greasy, but so did the salt and pepper shakers when I moved them out of the way to put my food on the table, lol. I would probably never come here again.

I visited Freddy’s for the first time and I ordered the single steakburger with cheese combo, which set me back $ 7.49. I thought was a little high for the combo. But, having grown up with Steak and Shake near my house, I’m a steak burger fan and I’m also a frozen custard fanatic. Freddy’s is in the middle of the pack for me with regard to frozen custards that I’ve tasted. It just wasn’t as creamy as some of the better ones. I can understand why they offer so many options for sundaes and toppings. After trying the custard, I bit into the burger and it was just alright. The patty was thin and tiny and it was too heavily salted. Topped with cheese, raw onions, pickles, and mustard, the toppings were thicker than the meat. I love burger and frozen custard chains across the country but Freddy’s is one that I can skip the next time that I pass it.

The Freddy’s sauce is great. The food is very fresh, so it takes a little bit longer than normal fast food.

My dad is taking a break so I’m going to write about Freddy’s frozen custard and burgers. They have very good burgers, the meat is juicy and flavorful. Second, their custard is very creamy and sweet but not to sweet and there is a variety of toppings to but on your custard of choice. I really like it. Matt M.‘s Daughter(age 10)

I thought the food was decent until I felt a familiar little feeling in the pit of my stomach almost immediately after eating it. My roommate and I hurried home so that I could do unspeakable things to our poor toilet. I felt like I was dying. I was hoping it wasn’t as a result of the food I ate at Freddy’s(double steakburger, fries, and a custard cup), and my roommate thought it was strange as well since she felt fine. I laid in bed awake sick to my stomach for several hours last night, but it wasn’t until this morning when she informed me she had vomited that I was certain. It was the food. Never again.

Might as well be called I should have went to five guys, cause that’s exactly how I felt when I put the burger in my mouth. Cheese fries are great if you love your fries covered in condensed canned cheese. I didn’t even finish half my meal before throwing it away

I watched them build this place for the longest time, so I was pumped when it finally opened. It’s my fault for not looking into it more, but I was expecting more of a diner and it’s pretty much just fast food. If you’re expectations are right, you will probably like this spot. I’ve had a couple of the burgers(California and original) as well as the Chicago dog, fries and the custard. The fries are probably the best thing on the menu — for better or worse. They are really thin and crispy shoestring fries. The fry seasoning is awesome. The first time I came I tried the Chicago dog. Big fan of Chicago dogs, but this one just fell a little flat. I like all of the veggies to be crunchy and they weren’t really. The burgers are ok if you like steakburgers. They take ground beef and press in onto a flat grill until it’s spread out about ¼″ thick. It’s crunchy and doesn’t really taste like beef much anymore. Having said that, the double is filling and pretty decent. California style has all of the normal veggies you would normally put on a burger: pickle, lettuce, tomato. I’d recommend that over anything else I’ve had. The custard is pretty decent as well. Soft serve custard is a step up form soft serve ice cream at least. They make one desert which is a funnel cake base with custard and strawberries. That’s the best one I’ve seen come out of the kitchen, and is pretty tasty. In sum, I would recommend a double burger, as many fries as you can fit in your face, and a custard — followed by a nap. Definitely need a nap after that meal.

Visited Freddy’s today and was pleased with my burger. It was greasy but really tasty. The French fries were very thin but they tasted okay. Reminded me of Steak N Shake which is a good thing. I would definitely return when I am in the mood for another greasy burger.

If you keep in mind that Freddy’s is a drive thru chain resturant, you won’t be dsiappointed. My first visit was great, food was exactly what I ordered, tasted great, and came out quickly. That said, it was the middle of the afternoon and the place was empty(maybe one car in line in front of me). My 2nd visit, not so great. It was a Saturday evening and the place was absolutely packed. I went through the drive thru and ordered the same thing as the visit before(a #1 with no cheese). Because the make up of most drive thru menus mean ordering a cheeseburger with no cheese, I always check to make sure it’s correct before leaving. My burger had cheese on it(and the person who took my order put it in correctly, I had the receipt). I had to park(which was a feat in and of itself that night) and go in to get the correct burger. I walked up to the counter and got in line when an employee asked if something was wrong. I told her and she sent me to the other counter where food is picked up. I stood there for a few minutes before a woman(I believe she was the manager, she was dressed differently from the other employees) asked if I needed a bag. I explained to her why I was there and she just said«okay, just a burger with no cheese?» Not even a «sorry about the inconvience.» I got my fresh burger and it tasted good but that time didn’t have any ketchup. My expectations were probably a little too high but if you take Freddy’s for what it is, it’s food that tastes pretty good at a decent price.

Gross food. Got the double burger combo. The burger was extremely thin, I could deal with that. What I can’t deal with was that it was over salted and greasy. The burger was so greasy that it soaked through the bottom bun. My gf got the Chicago style hotdog. It was so gross she couldn’t eat it. The hotdog was old, like it had been sitting there. It was discolored. I’m far from impressed and feel I have wasted my money and an evening eating at this place. I’ll never come back. If the staff is screwing up the food, I could only imagine how clean the custard machine is. No thank you. My mouth feels like I drank a box of salt. I’m disgusted and would have rather went to McDonald’s — yep I went there. $ 16 — wasted.

Overall very mediocre meal. I was not impressed. The Chicago style hot dog was decent but small and the meat undercooked and luke warm. The fries small, old, and cold. The free frozen vanilla custard I got from checking in on Unilocal blah… I guess that’s what I should expect from fast food restaurant, but I just had higher hopes based on the reviews.

Great little burger and custard spot. Friendly staff greeted us at the counter. Learned a little history as we were approached by management to check on our satisfaction. Burgers are deliciously grilled and if you like onions, I suggest the grilled ones. Service is excellent. A nice change to the average fast food burger joints.

I saw the sign for this place for a couple of months now. I was excited to see another burger joint opening up. Then I checked into it and it’s a chain from out west. I heard about this place from a friend that said it was pretty good. The place has been packed since it opened. I went in today and the place is brand new and shiny. You walk up to the counter and order and pay. Then you go get your drink and wait for your food. Nothing special just like every other fast food burger chain. I went with a single cheeseburger and a Chicago dog. Well the food came out and it was let’s say cute. The dog was close to e real Chicago dog but it was lacking the bright green relish. I not quite sure how they did it but they made the hotdog tough. Not just a good crispy casing but the whole thing was almost hard. The burger would have made Krystal’s proud. I mean wafer thin meat patty. Hell the pickle slices were thicker. I’m not real sure how the flavor was cause there wasn’t much of it. when I bit into the burger I tasted some cheese and a lot of pickle and some bun. I see why they have doubles and triples. So if you want a really thin burger and you are not near a Krystal’s of a steak n shake you can get the same food here. I know I won’t be back anytime soon.

Not Bad. Reminds me of Five Guys when they first opened we will see in a year. I had the bacon cheeseburger, my wife had the cheeseburger, and one of my daughters had the chicken tenders. All pretty good. Was not a fan of the Freddy sauce but my wife liked the spices you can sprinkle. Liked all the old pictures and history of Freddy!

This place is right down the road from our house and we had to check it out. The burgers and the onion rings are pretty good. Definitely going to come back to try some custard and a hotdog!

This place is brand new and it was packed. The driveup line was off the parking lot and ending up on beach blvd. They do fast food good. Can’t believe I’m Unilocaling about a fast food joint. I had the Chicago style dog with onion rings. They did it pretty good. Only thing missing was the poppy seeded bun. I also had the onion rings. Get some of the Freddy’s sauce for dipping. The fries are the shoe string type. I’m glad I got the rings. The frozen custard is great. I had the turtle mini sundae. Three sizes to chose from. I got the mini and it was so rich I know I could not finish something bigger. They have 2 styles of frozen custard. Sundae or what they call concrete. The concrete is blended. The place was busy but it was moving fast. I also tried a bite of the steakburger they were very good. I think it will do pretty good for a place for desserts or quick meals. Got to try the double pattie melt next time.

Have been waiting for this place to open for months as I drive by it all the time and always in the mood for a good burger. So finally I see that it’s opening so today after letting some of the first opening days to go by we decided to stop in for some lunch. walked in around 130 and was still decently busy but the line moved right along. The menu is simple and there plenty of choices but not overwhelming which IMO is perfect. after our order went and sat outside as there was a nice breeze. It took maybe 4 to 5 minutes and our order was ready. everything was hot and fresh. Fries are the tiny shoe string kind that our nice and Krispy and there freddys sauce is very good. burger was well seasoned and juicy. let’s just say I was not disappointed on the wait. We didn’t order any if the custard but it looked very very good. definitely will be going back to try a sundae or milkshake for sure. good quality burger for the price. finally just what this town needed
