Just so happen to be in the St. Johns town center and stopped by and let me say this, Sake House does not disappoint in any area. The spicy salmon sushi roll was great. This fish was fresh and on point its a MUSTTRY!!! The price was great because we hit them up during the lunch time rush but even if we didn’t the price was still decent. The hibachi chicken was some of the best that I’ve had in a LONGTIME! Overall this place is great.

So not going to lie this place really made me mad. We called around 10 on a Friday and asked how late they would seat tables and serve the hostess told me 1045 I said okay thanks ill make a 1030 reservation for a small group. about 5. We got there 1034 the hostess went to seat us and a waitress freaked out and«was like no y’all should have been here at 10 ». Mind u there are still people eating they don’t close for another 30 minutes for sushi?. It was so awkward and awful. So we were like I want a manager and this is crazy. Te guy comes up and says yea I guess we will serve y’all. Not want to get bad service we asked if he was sure and I want to eat my food with out any worries about anything bad happening to it laughing while I said it. The manager flat out tells me he recommends we don’t eat there die to the fact the staff will be mad he sat us !!! I will never go back to this place I’ve never been at more unprofessional establishment. We arrived 30 minutes before they closed for sushi ! And I made a reservation ! Never again!

Love sushi. And love finding new places. When my lunch date didn’t happen, my husband indulged my craving and suggested we try something new. Three rolls for $ 11? I’m down for that! Haven’t eaten three rolls in one sitting in a long time. Opted for the Jaguar, Spicy White Tuna Avocado, and Shrimp Tempura rolls. Shrimp Tempura isn’t that adventurous, but similar to when I try a new cupcake place, I like to try a ‘base’ roll so I have a standard to judge on. The Jaguar roll was a little disappointing, bordering on bland. I really can’t think about much more to say about it. Won’t be ordering it here again, but not willing to give up that easy. The Spicy White Tuna with Avocado was good. Tasted very fresh and had good flavor, but it was milder than I expected. The Shrimp Tempura was the roll that told me to have faith. It was quite good and reassured me that I possibly just ordered wrong. I hardly ever give up on a sushi place after just one try. They still have a chance to make be a big fan.

I went to this place on opening day. It was so great, we brought a huge group with us the next time. The service is amazing, very friendly staff and helpful if you want their opinions on which sushi to try. They have basic to fancy rolls. Beautiful presentation. Love having a small restaurant in Town Center next to all the chains. I’d pick this restaurant over all the other in the Town Center any day.

I ate here last night with a group of friends and none of us were that impressed. We had a few sushi rolls and some hibachi. The portions are smaller than an average Japanese steakhouse and the food is over priced. Also the food wasn’t restaurant quality food, I feel like I could have made something similar if not better myself. The food especially the hibachi part of it really lacked in flavor. The good things about the restaurant were the environment was nice and clean and the sushi may have been the best part of my meal. However, the sushi didn’t have anything on Crazy Sushi whom in my opinion is the best in Jax.

I was visiting the mall and saw their sign out front for Happy Hour and I was sold! Half off sake and other drinks. Sushi was good. I had the spicy tuna and Florida rolls, and also the eel and baby octopus(nigiri and gunkan style). I wish I had picked something other than the Florida roll(mango, krab, avocado) but honestly a lot of the rolls sounded so similar that I wanted something a little different. I should have just stuck to the old favorites. The staff were very attentive and the plating of the sushi was very unique. I would come back here.

My husband and I appreciate that Sake House opened at the SJTC. It’s nice to support a smaller business, rather than eat at California Pizza Kitchen or Maggiano’s. Sake House has a plethora of different rolls & special sushi bar rolls. Make sure you check both menus. I ordered the spicy tuna hand roll, volcano roll with added octopus, octopus sushi, gyoza, and beef tataki. The beef tataki was a little lacking in flavor, so I asked for more ponzu sauce to fix the issue. The gyoza was delicious, but I’m pretty sure it’s just prepackaged gyoza. The spicy tuna hand rolls were fresh. The octopus was amazing. And my husband is obsessed with their volcano roll. The presentation is definitely a 10. Their fish are fresh. I like the interesting combinations they create. I will definitely be back.

Great sushi!!! One of the best in Jacksonville. There was a place called Sakana but they closed after three months… I’m extremely sad that place wasn’t open longer. Anywho I would have gave them five stars but they don’t have the traditional sauce for Gyoza that I’m used to.

I’m so happy to see the Sake House open a location in the SJTC! I just wish they had the awesome Japanese-style dining tables like the one in 5 Points. Anyways, I like their sushi selections, especially their sushi bar specials like the Sweet Heart roll and the Crazy Horse roll. The presentation is just as killer as the taste!!! LOVE!!!(Check out the pic I posted) Anyways, they have specials like 10% off with student i. d… and they have coupons in the Mint/Money Pages magazines. Go check ‘em out! :)
