I came here after a 25 Mile bike ride hoping to fill my tummy with some chicken and lamb over rice. Li and behold there is no halal cart at this location. I’m freaking starving!

This is hands down the best Halal meal that you can find. I’m orginally from Manhattan and i’ve had plenty of the«tourist» carts, but every time i come back to NYC or Long Island to visit my family, I always make it a priority to get a plate with pita(nobody has time for salad haha) I usually drive from Long Island to North Carolina, and I have been taking a few plates back every single time. The rice is flavorful, the meat is fresh, the sauces are on point. The guys who work there are awesome. I have always wanted to open my own Halal Cart in NC, but it is near impossible to replicate once you’ve had the best. And this cart is the best!

I have been coming here since 2007 and still does not disappoint. Whenever I am in Jamaica, I have to get food from here. This is where my chicken and rice obsession began! I would also agree like others reviewers that this could definitely be better than 53rd and 6th. I started out getting chicken and rice, soon after I tried a mix(chicken and lamb) platter and now I only eat the lamb and rice platter. You get the platter and a soda for $ 6(at least since I last been there) which is quite a bit of food. I wish this place was closer to Nassau county. It’s a good 20 – 30 minute drive west of me and still say its worth going every now and then. PS: be careful with the hot sauce. It is extremely spicy haha. I’m sure many of you know especially people who go to halal food carts.

Hands down the best Halal Cart in the country. Forget that tourist trap crap 53rd and 6th, that place serves meat that is served in elementary schools. I’ve been coming here since early 2009, I was dropping my friend off in Floral Park and he said once I had this I’d never take a special trip to Manhattan for Chicken and Rice, he was right! Thank You Aditya Sharma! The rice itself has flavor, they have great white sauce, hot sauce, ANDBBQSAUCE(a must). Saliva is beginning to form in my mouth just thinking about this place. The chicken and lamb are way better than other carts in New York. $ 6 for a plate and soda, it doesn’t get any better than that. If your coming from the Northern State/Grand Central take the Utopia Parkway exit and go South towards Hillside Avenue, past St. Johns. I would park in the street just before Hillside Ave as the parking slots behind the cart are taken up most of the time.

Queens is the only borough I would buy chicken over rice, Manhattan’s halal isn’t what it’s hyped up to be. I first started coming here back in 2009, my coworker would drive us around to that block after work and we would order right from the car. They make it just the way would want it, so you get your full money’s worth. The food here tastes fresh, the cart is very clean, they don’t let a crumb slide off any tray. Most people don’t notice the difference in sauces but these guys have one of the bust white sauces I’ve ever tried. Looking for clean, fresh halal food? Then be sure to take a stop here.

I will ONLY go to this Halal Cart. I’ve been going here for a few years with my old coworkers when i used to work close by. But now that I dont work so close anymore, I will go out of my way to get food from here. Even my bf will specifically ask me to pick up halal for us from THIS particular cart if i’m meeting him after work. I guess its gotta be GOODFOOD right? the lamb isn’t gamey,(maybe a bit salty at times) the chicken is excellent. The rice is ALRIGHT! and the salad’s cool. but the WHITESAUCEANDTHEHOTSAUCE? mm mmm good! i mean, what more can you ask for? let’s see… a combo deal with free drink? Service with a smile? and some small talk for the person(me) who likes to chit chat? parking nearby? near a train station? a clean cart? and how about big portions of food? yes yes yesyesyesyes and a big yippee yeehaw too.

I have to say this is my favorite Hallah Street Cart, it was my first cart and to this day remains my favorite, in comparison to the legendary hallah cart in at 53rd&6th Ave it is vastly superior and better than the one that won the vendy awards at 73rd St and Broadway. I always get the Lamb over the rice with water for $ 6 a good deal if I ever saw one. They give you pretty generous portions and like every other hallah cart the White Sauce makes the meal. The lab is cut up into large portions unlike other hallah carts I have visited. I highly recommend everyone to go to this place, although it is out of the way the food is worth it.
