Gold’s Gym

This has been my gym for many years and they have continued to expand and make improvements over time. My monthly rate has also not gone up, in fact, it went down a few years ago. They usually require an upfront contract, but you can stay on a month to month afterwards if you’re so inclined. It’s a lot more reasonable than most gyms, and provides most of the same equipment.
There are several rooms, geared toward different types of workouts, so you should be able to find something to suit your needs. This also allows for simultaneous classes, or private stretching sessions. There is a free weight room, a «women’s» weight room, a yoga studio, media room with various machines, just to name a few. They post the movie schedule so you can coordinate your workouts accordingly. It’s also dark so if you’re worried about someone watching you, this would be a perfect place to hide out and still achieve health and muscles.
They have multiple TVs in front of the many treadmills, stair climbers, row machines, etc, but they don’t seem to pipe in the loud music that I enjoyed previously. People must’ve complained with everyone using their own playlists these days. I usually go at off times so I never have to wait, but apparently it can get pretty crowded right after traditional work hours, especially at the beginning of the year with all the New Year resolutions and such.
There is plenty of parking in the shopping centre lot. Fortunately, the gym is located on the end, so that helps with extra parking down the side. There are usually racks of clothes for sale up front if you need an extra «Golds Gym» T-​shirt, and prices seem to be pretty good. There are also lockers, steam room, and showers in the bathrooms. Staff are always friendly so just ask if you need anything.

Im not a huge fan of this gym, but for its location and its price, I dont think i can do much better. As with all Golds gyms, its totally oversold. Its just not big enough to accommodate all the people who want to work out at the same time. The staff is really nice the equipment is well kept, and its always nice and clean. I havent taken any of the classes, or use the day care.
They «upgraded» 80% of the treadmills last year to a model that doesnt have as many features and is less comfortable to run on than the old models. The Grit classes are always excessively loud to the point i can hear the instructors screaming at the 6 class members over her loud speaker through my noise canceling ear buds. The worst part is the free weight room. There are way too many people in there for the amount of equipment supplied. People rarely use the hammer strength machines, but there are only 2 squat racks. Theres also no effort to enforce rules of no gym bags or cell phones in the free weight area.
If you like working out at 9pm or 5am, this is probably a good gym. Otherwise, it feels like a crowded shopping mall and youll be waiting for equipment every time you want to get your workout in.

This gym has awesome day care 2 hours/​day included with the 39.99 mos price. When I need to have an hour to myself, this place is awesome.
Love the cardio theater– doesn’t feel like a meat market and get to catch some B rated movies.
Yoga and spin classes are great.
Best gym I’ve been a part of so far!

So nice and friendly. I’m not even a member here and got to work out on a $ 5 pass with my Mom’s membership. Not too packed and very clean and kept up. Will go back here when visiting for sure

I am amazed that there are tanning beds in this gym. I mean it is 2015 and you simultaneously have commercials on the TV’s about checking for skin cancer. A wellness center that promotes tanning. I just don’t get it. I would also like to see bottle filling stations. If you have a large water bottle to fill, you may be at the fountain for a while. I will say the extra room where Grit is held is pretty great and I love that not many people go in there. The classes are some of the best around. I think they should get rid of their tanning and offer amenities like towels, chair massages, maybe even chiropractic. Get rid of those death beds!

Great jam good staff well appointed place that has a great cardio theater room where they show movies and have lots of cardiovascular equipment so it really helps to get through that 30 minutes on the elliptical machine when you’re watching a good movie. Not at all a meathead type of gym very friendly and inviting and they have a great juice bar too. I just need to come here a lot more often!!!

Avoid this gym if you enjoy spin class.
I have been going to this gym for years given the close location and let me say I really will not miss it when I move. Yes there is a lot of equipment, the cardio cinema is probably the best feature. But, avoid the spin classes. There are only two good teachers (5:00 on Mon’s and Wed’s and Tues @ 6:15). All the other teachers are amateurs and/​or they don’t really spin (instead keep it on a low gear while everyone else is pushing themselves). The instructors know 3 moves that they do in rotation for 45 minutes. It could not be any more boring. If you are looking for motivating instructors, look elsewhere. I love spin class but the lack of good teachers is the main reason for cancelling my contract.

This Golds Gym is a great location. The owners keep it clean and I never see broken machines. They just expanded and have an extra room next door which is large and open for you crossfit fans. Movie room, cycling room, fitness classes, yoga room, they have it all! I almost gave the review 4 stars because their WiFi is really bad; but I might be the only need that cares.

This gym lacks nothing, and sure, its a «big box gym» but staff are friendly, and there is always a clean, working machine available. Ill trade cozy, smaller gyms for the convenience of never having multiple machines out of order, or old, or a small selection.
I never wait for a machine here, and there are multiple options for those of use elliptical/​bike/​treadmill type exercisers– including the main room, ladies only room, and a cardio-​cinema. Plus the Facebook page always is active and full of schedules and updates.
There is a line of televisions with a variety of channels, but the plus is I dont find them distracting if I’m not interested, which Im usually not. And they don’t blast/​blare music, though, again its there. I find it a very happy medium regarding the TVs/​music.
For those who enjoy group classes– this has the most variety I’ve seen. Between Les Mill, s Zumba, cycling, and yoga, there is something for everyone. I’ve tried cycling, zumba, step, and body combat, and have been happy with all the instructors. The schedule is full of variety and morning and evening options, plus weekend morning.
The one drawback is that classes can get crowded, but I find that to be n fault of the gym. I’ve always found a spot.
Plus, the gym and ladies locker room has always been clean– so all of the amenities, options, good staff and cleanliness, Ive found no drawbacks with this gym. I go 3 – 4 times a week and use machines and take classes.
I have not tried the Juice Joint, as I think the prices are a bit steep, but its a nice option to have there if I ever want to splurge.
I will say I’ve never seen the tanning equipment.
I cant find anything I’ve been unhappy with in the 4 months Ive been going here on a regular basis.

With free weights, ropes, cardio, spinning glasses, room for women only, a cinema room for watching films while doing cardio, stretching or yoga and a serious competitor weight area, there are things for all needs.
Add in a juice bar and tanning area and you have a complete package for the price.
With monthly membership as low as $ 9.99 up to more exclusive packages, there are options for any fitness person (novice or advanced).
The culture is stress free. It is not a gym that pushes promotions or makes you feel inferior. There are people of all ages and sizes and come to get fit or maintain their fitness levels.

I really like this gym. The equipment is typically maintained well and the staff is really nice. The staff does a great job of cleaning as well. So why only 4 stars? Well a large number of people do not know how to re-​rack their weights or clean off the equipment after use. I’ve worked out at a lot of gyms, and the gym edict is some of the worst that I’ve seen. While the behavior of the members is not a direct reflection of gym management I feel this could be improved if the staff would monitor and enforce the rules.

This gym is clean, well-​organized, has a great selection of new and WORKING gym equipment and a super cool cardio room with movie screen that plays a different movie each day.
All that great stuff aside, after the morning I just had, I gotta give a shout out to Gold’s Staff Member, Halley, as well as another Gold’s member. (forgive me if I got the spelling wrong) I made the truly smooth move of locking my keys in a locker and thanks to her, a huge pair of bolt cutters, and another gym member by the name of Trey, I was able to walk out with my belongings, if not my dignity.
