Recommended to us as a nice winery. Gorgeous Sunday but only their indoor tasting room was opened, not outdoor tasting bar yet. But gals let us take our tray of tastings outside on a lovely sunny April day. Nice outback there. Can see their nice set up for outdoor tastings to be reopened soon. And they were running a discount deal on their East End whites, so we now have 4 bottles to enjoy in May and June. Nice promotion Jamesport!

This is a great, peaceful spot to buy a bottle and relax. White wood bench style chairs, circle half barrel glass top tables, with while seashells on the floor. Love! Such an adorable touch. Wines are good, nothing spectacular. I enjoy the East-End Sauvignon Blanc on hot summer days. The Rose is nice too. Tasting are $ 15 and bottles range from $ 17-$ 30 no cock fee.

I decided that going out to the vineyards in this area would be a great experience for my wine loving boyfriends birthday. This was our first stop on our wine tasting/vineyard hopping day trip. We were super excited and this vineyard in particular was very impressive. It was a quaint spot with lovely scenery, the service was great(I believe the young lady who helped us name was Brenna?) she was absolutely a sweetheart, gave us plenty of attention and was very knowledgeable about the wines we were trying. We told her our likes and dislikes and gave us great suggestions. She was right every time. The wine was delicious, so good in fact, that after our whole day of going to different vineyards for tastings, we came back and purchased bottles of the wines we liked. We will definitely be back again during the summer with friends and family.

This is a nice little winery stop. The grounds are beautiful, the staff(particularly Christie) is personable and welcoming, and the wine is tasty. I’d highly recommend visiting them in the summertime, as it’s a much fuller experience. What really makes them standout though(and this probably only applies to about 23% of you): If you have been tasting wine all day long and not making proper use of the spittoons provided at all the wineries along the way, and in your inebriated state you have somehow decided that a footrace is a good idea(to demonstrate your utter dominance over one Drew A), they will allow you to use the field in the back. And when you smoke Drew, despite his cheating and the fact that you’re wearing Timberlands, everyone will raise a delicious glass of Jamesport Sauvignon Blanc to your victory.

We visited in a weekend in February. The place is fairly large compared to the others in the area and there are about four or so tables by the bar. It wasn’t too crowded when we went around 2 o’clock on a Sunday and the staff was very friendly and attentive. You can choose the types of wines you want to taste– we choose red. They were good and we would come back in the summer once the wood burning pizza is available.

I ordered two bottles of wine to be shipped to my home in California in OCTOBER when I visited, they still have not arrived. I ordered bottles from a few other vineyards during my visit that came within two weeks. I’ve contacted Jamesport over 10 times and have only received 2 — 3 calls back. Left numerous messages, no answer. I did contact the shipper, UPS, who informed me that they did not receive payment from Jamesport until the very end of NOVEMBER. Absolutely unacceptable. I have been very understanding and given both UPS and Jamesport over 2.5 months to rectify whatever mistakes have been made but based on the absolutely disgusting and disrespectful lack of communication I will be forced to dispute the charge with my credit card company and contact the Better Business Bureau. I would REALLY appreciate a call back Jamesport!

Lots of room, a comfortable setting, wonderful hosts and great wine make Jamesport Vineyards an enjoyable experience on any NoFo wine outing. The selection of wines here is impressive and make sure to check their FB page for some fun events and sales(bogo cases, paint night, local restaurant pairings, etc.) throughout the year. On my last visit I picked up some of the Estate Chardonnay and I’m annoyed I didn’t pick up a few bottles of MTK Merlot, bc it’s better than most merlot in the area. Should you stop by, come on out and say hello bc I’ll most def be in the back for Empanada Fridays(cooked in their outdoor wood fired oven) this summer! Bonus: Do yourself a favor and checkout their special tastings. It’s fairly reasonable to have a private guided tour or to have the winemaker himself come down and host a private tasting for you(complete with local artisan cheese). Disclaimer: like any tourist destination, it will be crowded during peak times in the summer months. Be smart! Call ahead and make a reservation. It’s free and there will be space ready for you.

Amazing red blend and delicious brick oven fired pizza. Great combination of fresh ingredients. And we went on a sunny, beautiful fall day. It’s probably amazing during the summer. I’ll be back for sure!

Just left the winery. Beautiful wine(reserve cab) with the most amazing pizza to pair with the wine. Great experience. Highly recommend.

Last summer, we would have given this place five stars. Amazing oyster bar … friendly people(both patrons and staff) … great wine and even beer … cool/not cheesy live music like some other places … chill scene. One of our favorites on the North Fork. In fact, we recommended this place to many friends and went there several times in 2014. THISSUMMER, it feels like everything changed. Staff unfriendly, no more oyster bar, no more beer — and a really crappy customer service experience. It was mid-August, there were six of us … we had just ordered two bottles of wine, a ton of food and had two little kiddos and a dog. Two minutes after the food arrived, we were asked to move. No one came to help us bring all of this food/wine we just ordered. We were not in a seat that had said reserved. We were just told to get up and move. Reason? A busload of tourists came in and they needed our picnic table. Pronto. So we were scrambling to immediately move and get the kids stuff together, grab the dog leash, gather up all of our food, bottles, glasses, etc(WITHNOHELPFROMTHESTAFF) who was only concerned with the bus people. However, there were no open tables b/c there were two bachelorette parties going on and every other table was filled. So we wrapped up our food in napkins, put it in the bottom of the baby stroller and left. We ate the rest of our pizza in the car … we had to toss out the rest of our wine because we couldn’t have an open container in the SUV. It just was so disappointing, especially after we were raving about how great the place was. BUT I’M NOTDONEYET! Then we went to leave the parking lot and the huge tourist bus was parallel parked at the end of the winery driveway, blocking the view onto the very busy Main Road. We couldn’t see around the bus to make our left turn and it was really dangerous. I went to call the number of the winery to tell them to get that bus driver to move the vehicle — and there was no way to leave a message. They just said to send an email. So my boyfriend and I vowed never to go there again, and instead share our thoughts on Unilocal(sorry for the delay … finally getting around to it. But the suckiness of the experience is still raw!) We are so bummed. This was our favorite place. And now it seems, like many of the wineries out in the Northfork, they are giving in to the masses … only worried about the busloads and bachelorettes, and not preserving the cool vibe we used to love about NoFo. Much prefer Kontakosta and Croteaux(who don’t take busloads of people, thankyouverymuch.)

Went on a Thursday afternoon with two of my friends just for a nice relaxing day out. Came in and the guy behind the counter was unfriendly and not very helpful. When we walked in and he said«oh now a group comes in and I have to work ugh«very unprofessional. We bought a bottle of wine to sit outside and came back in to purchase it and was treated like a second class citizen. Wine is fantastic but the service lacks.

This is a smaller vineyard on the north fork. It’s lovely inside and very lovely outside. They have very nice wines! not the best I have ever had, but pretty good. They have pretty good flavor and the wines are distinct in their different varietals. I had been to a couple of other wineries on the same day as this one that comparatively had better tasting wines. The outdoor area is lovely but pretty small. I wouldn’t say this is a good place for bigger groups.

I did so much research to find the perfect vineyard to visit today, I’m a huge fan of Riesling and according to their reviews they have great Riesling. We wanted to come here because they had food and it seemed like a good place. We got there and we were sort of confused where to go, we went to the bar and the one thing I liked was you can pick ANY wine but they are served in a plastic cup and they don’t give you very much ATALL. They were out of the Riesling so I was irritated and the guy didn’t explain any of the wines he was pouring. We went to order food because there was food on our menu and we were told food is only on the weekends. We were so annoyed we went from getting two flights to just getting one and heading to Martha Clara’s after which was amazing. We did walk through their vineyard and it was beautiful, I really liked there vineyard I must say.

A great place for the first stop of several vineyards today. Their selection spanned the varying preferences of our group but we all easily agreed on their dessert wine as our favorite. We even decided to bring a bottle home. The atmosphere was decent as best. We would have preferred to sit outside in the garden with our wine flights, but that was apparently not allowed. Can’t give 5 stars due to that minor inconvenience.

The wine was ok but nothing I would purchase. The person serving us was nice to talk to but have very little info on the wine itself. I think $ 15 a tasting is a bit much even for 5 wines. At most I think it should come out to $ 10.

I’ve owed Jamesport a review for ages… so many places to review, so little time. What a great winery, and here’s why: The wines are very, very good. My favorites are their Reserve Sauv Blanc, Dry Riesling, East End Rosé, their Mélange de Trois, Jubilant and Sidor reserves both from 2007. Ron Goerler, owner and winemaker, deserves his own section. He’s one of the most well respected owners on the NoFo and is loved by all. You can usually catch Ron at the winery working hard and always smiling while doing so. He will almost always come over to say hi and ask for your feedback on his wines. He is genuinely interested in you thoughts… The grounds are plentiful and always meticulous, they’re one of the few that have a kitchen in the back /outside serving pizzas and oysters, etc. They almost always have LIVE music playing and they do attract quite a crowd. Christie is their new Director of retail ops and the boss lady in charge — not only is her smile unsurpassed, she’s incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of oenology, and she runs a tight ship here — your experience will always be superb. She’s many levels in to her Somm certs so she will educate you while you taste. I highly recommend tasting with her! *PROTIP* they can get VERY busy so make sure you get there early! Lovely winery and came here as our first stop on our day of wine tasting in the North Fork. The winery itself is quite pretty and lots to see and look around at. The backyard patio was also beautiful and great for sitting outside on a nice day. We got five tastes of wine and a cheese plate and a clam and pesto pizza. The wine was nice and there was live music as well. The absolute best part of the experience was that pizza though! That clam pesto pizza was one of the best bites I have had in a while. There was so much flavor and a bit of a kick and I am not even a pesto fan. Highly recommended to try if it is on the menu. The cheese plate though is a bit bare and was not even served with bread or crackers. Skip that. I would definitely come back to try more of those brick oven pizzas and the atmosphere is great to go along with it. Highly recommended!

I visited Jamesport Vineyards this past June and I loved it. We made a reservation for 5 about a week beforehand, and we were greeted as soon as we arrived. The vineyard itself is not functional, but there is a full vineyard full of grape vines to view/touch. The owner gave us the tour($ 20.00 per person). He was GREAT. I’ve never been given a tour by the owner, so it was a great experience. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He knew the answers to every question we asked! The tasting was a bit disappointing. I was expecting at least 3 glasses of wine. We ended up getting a small sample of 5 wines, which maybe added up to 1.5 glasses of wine. For the price, I would have expected to be able to taste more wines or drink a little more of what was available. After the tour and tasting we sat outside and ordered some pizza. The open area behind the main building has a bar, lounge chairs, a tent with live music, and plenty of outdoor seating. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. We ended up staying for about 1.5 hours after our tour, and there was no pressure to leave. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend visiting!
