I have been going here for about 7 years now and have never been disappointed. It does not matter what you get, everything is amazing, and is fresh tasting every time. If you are taking a trip to the mountains or spend the day at new melones, it is a must stop.

The food is simple yet flavourful. It’s a pretty low-budget place, mis-matched chairs and tables, but the area is fairly clean.

I understand they CLOSED September 2014. We go every weekend for the menudo. This place does everything well. I’m really fussy about good Mexican food and this place has the best. Family owned and operated, great service. Such accommodating folks. They have beer, wine and tequila — and some good ones! In addition to the Jarritos. It doesn’t get more authentic.

Love the combination of flour and corn chips. Salsa was excellent. Table ordered: soft taco al pastor, chicken enchilada red sauce, nachos Carne asada, bean and cheese burrito. Everything was great, large portions, and affordable prices.

Unilocal again came to my rescue. On the way to Yosemite, searched for a place to eat. This taqueria is *inside* of a gas station mini-mart. But don’t let that dissuade you from eating here. The food was great. Red spicy salsa had great flavor served with fresh chips. Shared the carnitas burrito special w my friend. Meat very flavorful, best Mexican we’ve had in a while. If lived nearby would visit again.

Awesome Mexican breakfast place — great way to fuel up for backpacking trips! Cheap, unpretentious, nice staff, great food, etc. Chilaquiles with green sauce were fantastic.

Tried CC for the first time last week on the way back from a run up to the casino. Walked in and were told to grab a table of our choosing. They had flour tortilla chips which was a bit different but good with salsa. Scanned the menu and they had all the standard stuff. My wife and I both ordered combination plates which both ended up being quite good. I really liked my chile rellano especially. This is going to be a regular stop in this area for us from now on.

I think C&C has hired new cooks because the food has gotten so much better than what it was when I first reviewed it. Note, this is a family run restaurant, it’ll be crowded and slow on weekends — but in this economy, that’s a great thing, and I will happily wait. It’s a tried and true mom and pop place that will make you feel welcome every time, there’s a reason there are always cars parked out front — the food is that good now. Try the Garlic Soup. It’s really, really good.

The best mexican food I have had in Sonora. Tasty and authentic. And to the review above, both CC taqueria’s are owned and ran by the same people

5 Stars… and I don’t really even like Mexican food! I talked my parents into going because you can’t go to California and not have any! We had just gone gold-panning from the company a block away, so we were dirty and hungry. It was like they read our minds! The friendly waiter brought us out chips and salsa(too spicy for my parents, a little spicy for me, but water did the trick). There was also anti-bacterial on our table!(And every table for that matter, loll!!! We are not the most adventurous bunch, so I had the pollo asado, my mom had the carne asada, and my dad — in essence had a breaded chicken cutlet. Do not remember the name. The steak looked a little dry, it was also thin– and my family goes rare to med-rare, but it satiated hunger with twice as much leftover. My chicken was moist and extremely flavorful. My dad’s fried chicken cutlet was also good. Each dish had buttery wonderful grilled peppers and onions, creamy fresh guac(I ate my mom’s my dad actually tried and ate most of his!), pico de gallo, well seasoned, moist rice, tortillas, and beans which I(not a connoisseur of any beans) which were not pleasant to look at– but were rich and creamy and did not have that typical bean texture at all. All for $ 9.75! The flour tortilla chips were to die for, and they even brought out their green and red sauces for us to dip chips into to try, us being too afraid to order anything with it otherwise!!! The green tomatillo sauce was amazing and zesty without being spicy for spicy’s sake. Truly great food, and they kept the water coming… always good! Pictures to come.

Stopped in to this place, and knew it would either be really good or really bad. It was really good. Wife had the taco and chile relleno combo and I had the 2 chile rellenos. Both entres were very good. Home made chips to boot! Daughter who is 12 even liked it. Service was like visiting a friends house. Free refills on soda.

Good shrimp dishes, especially the shrimp burrito. The breakfast selection is nice with good crispy hash browns. I think it’s some of the better Mexican food available in Sonora. The restaurant is nothing fancy ATALL, but it’s clean and the food has a lot of great flavor.

I stopped here with some friends on the way to a camping trip in Emigrant Wilderness Area and loved it so much that we stopped on the way back. It isn’t the best Mexican food I’ve ever had but it was quite good and cheap. The atmosphere is down-homey and friendly. I got a really good vibe from this place.
