I usually feel ok about writing a review for a restaurant when I receive poor service but I’m a huge fan of Wild Ginger so it almost pains me to do this. But being that this is the second time this has happened, I figured it was warranted. On Christmas Eve I placed an order for two vegetarian dishes and one chicken dish. This was a take out order. I confirmed, twice with the young lady on the phone that the two vegetarian dishes would in fact be vegetarian. She said«yes» and gave me my total. When I picked up the order, after 25 minutes I was told it would be another 10 minutes. Not a big deal. When the kid brought our food out I confirmed, for a third time that the two dishes were vegetarian. He said«I don’t know, I didn’t take the order». Fair enough. We drive home(Perkasie, a bit of a hike but like I said, I was a huge fan of Wild Ginger) & open up our food. GUESSWHAT?! Not vegetarian. We were given real chicken when we ordered the fake chicken. Too far from the restaurant to warrant a call to get it replaced and being that it was the second time this has happened to us, I decided to just eat a bowl of cereal for dinner and never go to Wild Ginger again. As a vegan, it is incredible disappointed to be told you will be getting a dish you can eat, pay the $ 15 for that dish only to get home and not be able to eat it. So, the menu may seem like a dream come true to a vegetarian or vegan but BEWARE, you don’t always get what you want.

Sooooo…, we’ve been eating in Doylestown too often. This is not necessarily a bad thing — It just means we are used to mediocre service, harsh service and cramped dining… And, oh yeah high prices. This isn’t the Doylestown restauranteurs’ faults in its entirety — but rather the lack of expectations and the«need-to-be-seen» mentality of the Doylestownees. Oh… A review of Wild Ginger… Sorry, I had half a bottle of wine, lost my focus. Wild Ginger… As fate and the universe dictated, was the only Asian resturant open this Monday. Thank you fate and Mrs. Universe. Service was spot on, Desiree offered help with the menu, supplied her opinions of what she thought«we» would like…(any servers out there take note, «what we would like»), she was attentive but not obtrusive SERVICE4STARS Appetizers were awesome, pan fried dumplings — some of the best I have had. Entrees…(A pause for dramatic effect) — step back, I’ll get to the entrees, the Menu needs some mention. The damn thing goes on forever, making choosing one thing nearly impossible. My solution here was to decide what I wanted tonight, and then later in the week was relegated to option #2. Back to entrée — spicy coconut chicken dish — fantastic, Gotta go — wife Is tired of watching me type… Go to Wild Ginger, and finish my review.

What a nightmare, waiting for 1 hour for our sushi, my husbands food came but not ours. If you do not have enough help on a weekend then you shouldn’t open and charge people good money for you crappy service. Other customers are walking out halfway through their meal. Disgraceful By the way, the sushi came and it was awful, the nori was so chewyI nearly choked on it. Bleh

I love coming here especially for lunch. They have great Thai specials that are very large and don’t leave you hungry. I ordered Pad Thai with miso soup and garden salad and my sister had the Red panang curry with the same. Our bill was only $ 17. I’ve also done takeout for dinner and that is excellent as well. A great local spot.

Pretty good place. I had the sweet potato roll. It was just fair, crispy outside like any other roll. The inside, however, was too mushy. My mom and I split the sesame chicken and the salmon wrapped avocado. The sesame chicken was different than the typical dish. It wasn’t fried or sweet. I thought it was just fair, and my mom thought it was great. The salmon wrapped in avocado was amazing! It was tasty and delicious! My fiancée got the miso soup and udon noodles. Both come recommend. On a second note, the hospitality is great. I simply made the comment that I wished my fiancée ordered a salad rather than the soup so I could eat his cucumbers(my favorite), and the waitress brought be out a few cucumbers! We will be back!

I love the name, «Wild Ginger.» It evokes images of spicy jungles with Jaguar eyes and Elephant tusks lurking in the deep canopy forests of northern Thailand. This version of the two shop restaurant empire is not quite as wild as the name suggests, but does have its positive moments. The Jamison store has dark red walls with black cut out images of exotic Asian women and the Eiffel Tower. On a hot day it instantly cools the visitor with its permanent shade. The menu works especially well at lunch, where the offerings on the Thai side are based on the main ingredient you chose — Tofu, Veggies, Chicken, Beef or Shrimp and range from $ 8 to $ 9 for the style you select. I almost ordered the Pad Thai, but allowed myself to listen to my server telling me the Cashew Thai Style was just as good. She was very pleasant, and she convinced me to try the nut approach. First came the Tom Yam Soup, which was nicely spiced and steaming. It was what I expected that soup to be. Tart and sinus rattling. Nice. The main dish was very attractive with fresh Veggies(Pepper, Onion, Scallion, Carrot, Baby Corn, Cashews), and a light brown glazy sauce that made everything shine. Looked great. The taste was were the letdown occurred. While the menu described a mild sweetness, to my buds, there was little if any flavor. Freshness and quantity were not issues, but I truly wanted something bolder in line with my Thai-spectations. Rather than ask for more sauce or something sweeter to add to the plate, I went the other way and asked for Sesame Oil and Chili Sauce to bring up the flames. After dumping the small dish of spice and oil into it and mixing thoroughly, the flavor was much improved, and I enjoyed the meal the rest of the way. It still wasn’t authentically Thai, but it was reasonably good. Turned out that Wild Ginger(II) was a «fusion» or hybrid kitchen, owned by someone other than Thais or Japanese. Such ‘con-fusion’ houses usually don’t work well as the concept doesn’t exist in the«wild» of southeast Asia, and relies on the theory that no one here will recognize that this concoction approach lacks roots in any indigenous culture. Wild Ginger gamely tries to offer a valid alternative, and the dishes are okay for what they are. It’s just that they fall short of being fully satisfying because of what they are not.

Not a rave place for sure. I ordered a so-called Thai dish, Eggplant Seafood. It tasted identical to a dark hoisin sauce, just like in a Chinese place. Didn’t note any of the Thai tastes I have experienced before. Lobster tail in the mix was stale, old, and tasteless. It was good, not great. Service was excellent. Building is freezing cold. Would go back IF weather was bad and I didn’t feel like driving far. Kind of pricy for run-of-mill Chinese food, even if they call it Thai food.

Was excited to see a thai place nearby, but it was just OK. Not all that authentic. Tried their pad thai and drunken noodles«I dont know what Kee Mao is» lol. Also tried the gyoza and vegan chicken dumplings. Tofu was watery. Noodles and dumplings, gyoza were good. Reasonably priced. It’s probably a safe bet for most

Overall, the sushi was pretty good. But the shiitake maki wasn’t that great. Spicy tuna, oshinko and sweet potato are good though.

*take out order: Chicken pad thai and spring roll. Very good! The chicken was a bit bland, but overall a good dish. I asked them to make it spicy and they did. The spring roll was perfect. I would like to eat in and Check out the rest of the menu. Will be going back! BYOB Small, intimate

I originally went here because I thought it was the same Wild Ginger vegetarian as the one in NYC. I was a little disappointed when I found out that it wasn’t. The first time I went there I got the Fantastic Couple and it was good. Went back again and got the same thing and it wasn’t that great. It was super dry and the sauce was almost inedibly salty. The third time I went I ordered the Garlic and Ginger sauce chicken lunch special and it was pretty good. the best dish Ive had there so far. We went one Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty dirty in the light. The floor was dirty under the front desk and the booths all had crumbs in the cracks. Theres a lack of good vegetarian restaurants around here. So they get bonus points for that. All in all I would go back because the food is decent, and they seem like nice people. I hope the dust and crumbs on the floor were a one time thing.

I was really bummed that the pineapple fried rice was not traditional pineapple fried rice. It had more of a Mexican flavor, had peppers in it and the rice was mushy. It did not contain the cashews or raisins or curry powder but the chicken and shrimp in it was cooked nicely. The gyoza was decent.

My boyfriend and I have gone to both Wild Ginger restaurants in the area on numerous occasions. I prefer Wild Ginger II to the other one. The last time we were there, we ordered pan fried vegetarian chicken dumplings to start. They were phenomenal, even my super carnivorous boyfriend enjoyed them. He ordered the pineapple fried rice which was presented in a hollowed out pineapple. I ordered the hot fancy tofu, which is great. We’ll keep going back, for sure!

I went there for lunch today and felt that the food quality and service was good enough to get me to return. Their portion sizes are appreciable. The lunch specials come with a salad AND a soup. The soup was chock-full of chicken and veggies. The dressing on the salad was super yummy. I was a bit disappointed with how little beef was in my spicy basil dish. There were way too many onions. Service was friendly and relatively fast considering there was only one waitress for all patrons(about 5 tables filled).

Good miso soup and the garden salad was huge. Sushi was decent but not to the mouth watering caliber of other local sushi joints.

A place vegans can order off the menu. WAHOO! I ordered green curry with«shrimp.» Great taste, but I’m real sorry I ordered the«shrimp.» They looked too much like real shrimp. Vegetable pancake — yum. I recommend this. Sweet and sour Chinese cabbage — ok, green curry with«shrimp» — don’t get the shrimp. Prices is the same for the fake shrimp as it is for the real shrimp. Curry vegetable pot — better than the curry with«shrimp.» Total with tip = $ 41 I can’t wait to go back.

Pros: service was the nicest from any sushi place. Food selection great, due to starting with vegetarian base and adding meat to the selection if you want. Thai or Japanese selection. Cons: small eating area so you feel like you’re dining with the table next to you.

After coming here several times, I can still say that the food is affordable and quite good, but the service is painfully slow. Don’t come if you’re in a hurry, but the food is great. It’s BYOB.

I wrote a quick tip with an excellent review that I just retracted This place has good food but the 1 star is for the lack of service and incompetent management. I have been to the restaurant many times because of the food. It takes FOREVER to get your food. This has happened now at least 4 — 6 times. This last time was a Sunday at 5 pm There is only 1 sushi chef and it took 1 and ½ hours to get our sushi. There was only 1 other table seated and it is clear they care more about their take out business than their seated customers. We complained and the hostess offered us dessert(we said no thank you) and she took our phone number We noticed many other complaint messages at the front desk. Note to management: get a 2nd sushi chef and pay attention to not only the take out customers. Will never go back. Ooka from now on. At least we get served in under an hour.
