Been going to Raymond Ops since 2009. Each visit is always a pleasure. From check-​in to my exam and then fitting, the staff is wonderful and accommodating. I always leave loving my eye wear. ;)

Staff knows next to nothing about optics & glasses r a giant ripoff. Much better lenses for same money at Sears. Staff has no training at all w re/​to glasses!!!
Quite a ripoff.
I think they were better in the past.
Will go too the web for glasses now!

I’ve been a customer of Raymond Opticians for 20 years. A friend was raving about them today and I agreed whole heartedly that the staff is wonderful. They’re patient and helpful and stand behind their products. Their customer service is excellent.
I started working with them when my son was 5 and they were so kind and treated him with such respect that he STILL goes there and lives in another state!
It never occurred to me to write a review — I usually just do restaurants — but I wouldn’t HESITATE to recommend them. I am always pleasantly surprised when I go there.

This place is great. Everybody is helpful. My friends even go, there.

Horrible place, terrible customer service. This place is a scam: they charged me for things that are fully covered by my insurance (they are in-​network providers, mind you!), wanted to overcharge me for contact fittings and contacts (which were for the largest part covered by my insurance), and when I didn’t agree the owner told me (through his cigarette smelling assistant) he didn’t want to help me any more. Also they don’t call back when you ask them to and make you wait a long time (over an hour) for a scheduled eye-​exam. Will never ever return, and would advise everyone to not go here!!!

What an extremely friendly staff at the Baldwin Place, NY location. I won’t go anywhere else. The interior is very welcoming! They do what they can to help you! They are also conveniently located in a big shopping center.

After seeing the negative review on here I was nervous about my first appointment with Raymond Opticians because it’s 1. Hard to pick out glasses alone and 2. You want to trust your doctor and the people selling you your glasses. I don’t usually write reviews (just read them) but I felt I had to because I almost cancelled my appointment due to the bad review. I am SO happy I did not cancel because for the first time it was not a horrible experience buying glasses. The doctor was awesome, she was down to earth and easy to talk to. She answered all my questions and didn’t make it feel like I was bothering her. I stuck with a frame and lens covered by my insurance because I felt I didn’t need to pay more to get what I was looking for. I had someone help me through out the entire process and put up with me having 10 frames to decide between. I even had other people working there weigh in with their opinion because I was stuck between two frames. I now found my eye doctor and eye glass place for years to come because it was painless.

Been going here for many years and always leave satisfied. Great staff and wide selection of glasses to choose from.

My family goes here/​to the Baldwin Place location. Today was my first time in this location, and I liked it a lot better, because it is brighter, more open, and feels cleaner than the other location.
I like that my optometrist is friendly but also a no-​nonsense/​gets-​the-​job-​done kind of guy. He is efficient and fast, which is awesome because eye exams are kind of dull and also irritating if your vision is as blurry as mine is.
I also love the frames I was able to find with them, though it should be noted that I selected them at the other location. This office seemed to have more options, though.
