The Mark

Had my birthday dinner there last month and was hoping for another excellent meal like I had the first week I went there when they opened. The appetizers were excellent but the main course crab cakes were sour. In addition, the marguerita was not made consistent and we had to send both back. The wait staff was accommodating to the issues though. All in all it was an ok experience.
They are now closed.

The view here is amazing but the food is just so-​so.
I highly recommend visiting when the weather is warmer so you can sit outside with a view of the amazing lake. Bring a pair of sunglasses or a hat though, as the sun will shine directly in your eyes at some point.
A bunch of my family members and I came here for dinner. I shared the ribeye and the truffle oil mac & cheese with my sister. Unfortunately, the mac & cheese was kind of greasy — the oils from the cheese separated out, as if the dish had been assembled days in advance, chilled, and then reheated — and the ribeye was overcooked.
My dad got boar chops, which were actually really delicious and gave me order-​envy. Everyone else seemed okay with their meals with the exception of my cousin, whose linguine with clams somehow didn’t make it into the system and therefore were brought out late (and to their credit, they gave that dish to us for free), who found her dish way too salty. It was so salty, she could barely make a dent in the pile of pasta.
The staff are really friendly and kind though, so that’s a plus. Honestly though, I think if you go here, be prepared to be wowed by the view and ambiance but not so much by the food (which is unfortunate).

We had a very nice meal here. The outside seating is very pretty– although a little buggy. The restaurant is very pretty on the inside although the restroom was less than tidy. The sangria was very good. Our meal was good. The scallops were decent and my husband enjoyed his steak. Not the best meal we have ever had, but for the area it is one of the nicest restaurants we have been to.

My family and i, attended a birthday party, on September 19^th, 2015, the atmosphere and style of the restaurant was very nice.
The food was also great, and service was nice, i should say, there was one waitress, a thin woman, who left a lot to be desired. very slow at her job, seemed like she didn’t want to be there.
Now the reason for the 1 star review, as i said, i was there with my family, my wife and 10 year old son and 7 year old daughter .
Since it was a large birthday party, we chose to sit outside on the deck, like a lot of the kids, my children ran around and played on the grass, little did we know, but the restaurant had a severe issue, with poison ivy, unknown to us at the time, our boy, and also other children came in contact, with the poison ivy. .
Sure enough, the next day, he broke out in a very severe case of poison ivy, it has been nearly a week, since the party, and he has gotten much worse, he has missed 4 days of school, and has suffered much discomfort, we of course, took him to the doctor, at our own expense, and had to purchase medicine for his treatment. .

Like i previously said, the food and restaurant was good, but take me seriously, when i tell you to keep your children close to you, and off the grass and away from their bushes

My fiancé and myself have enjoyed brunch a number of times of late, and dinner once. The food was very good in general, the staff friendly, and the prices reasonable for what we were gettting. We’ll be back soon!

Had dinner at the The Mark last night (9÷5÷15) it was horrible. The food presentation was nothing short of unappealing looked like it was just thrown on the plate. My dinner was returned because it was not as I had requested. Husband had a steak it was tough and tasteless as well as expensive. Food was slow to come out even though the restaurant was empty. The only thing that I enjoy was the wine and my husband like his caesar salad. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and we certainly will not go back not worth the money.

Beautiful views and great food and entertainment but service needed much polishing… last night my group of friends split calamari appy– tender but not crunchy– a bit mushy… complimentary salad with citrus mint dressing was very good… my shrimp scampi was an excellent blend of flavors… friends spag. W/​red clam sauce was delicious… choc. peanut butter cheesecake was decadent. Owners were friendly but servers were very young and not experienced though pleasant. Entertainment, Artanis Sings, (1 guy, 2 girls) played great selection of Sinatra, doo wop, classics_​had place rocking — everyone was dancing all night– great time!!!

WOW. What a diamond in the rough. First off, the view of the lake is breathtaking. Like right out of The Notebook. ;)
I had a Chardonnay to start. Bread and olive oil was tasty. I had the red snapper, risotto and spinach. Red snapper was delicious and crispy.
Above everything else though, the service was amazing. It took a while for things to come out but it made the dinner an experience instead of a rushed event. They were so kind and attentive. Our table along the water was taken so they gave us a bar table a bit further back but comped my wine. Still had the perfect view. Our table was a little wobbly but they fixed it right away. Lisa was our waitress and she was an absolute sweetheart. We will be requesting her every time as this will be our new «spot.»
This was one of the best date nights my fiancé and I have had in a long time.

Great Place for Dinner, Food was Great, Staff is Great and Great Music

This was my first visit. It was 5:15pm on a Saturday afternoon. You don’t quite see the lake from the front door but there were enough signs around that showed me that this was the right place. I was led to the dining room but then I suggested a table adjacent to the bar. The service was great with a positive attitute among all the employees. It was a perfect day so most people were eating outside by the lake. I ate the jambalaya while listening to various tunes and watching people row and paddle across the way. I did see a television on my way in but it was out of view from where I was sitting. The bread was good. The salad with citris mint dressing was good. The jambalaya was good enough. It tasted like Chef Boyardee speghetti, which is fine, but I’ve had tastier at Bubba Gump’s.

We tried this place for dinner about a month ago and found they were still having growing pains. We decided to try lunch this time and had a lovely time lakeside. Sandwiches were very tasty but both rolls were a little stale. Our waitress (Julia) was extremely friendly and attentive.
I hope this place works out. Its such a great space. We will give them another try.

Service is excellent. Menu is packed w so many good items you’ll have to come back multiple times to try them all. Nice little bar and lounge inside and a great view of the lake outside. An awesome new restaurant in our neck of the woods. A must try.

I recently joined a friend for a late lunch/​early dinner at The Mark. I was very impressed with the look and feel of the restaurant and the scenic view of the lake was so peaceful that I definitely wanted to dine outside. The service was great and the food was excellent! I had the tuna and it was cooked perfectly. The chef’s use of fresh herbs in the salad dressing was delicious. It’s a quiet tucked away place that I would highly recommend, what a great find!

What a beautiful place! Lakeside, pretty and the food is delicious. Crab cakes are packed with crab meat and the staff is terrific!

The Mark is an excellent find! A delightful hideaway on a lake setting, the food is what will take ur breath away. I had the hanger steak cooked exactly as I wanted it with mashed potatoes with chunks of bacon, yum. I couldn’t ask for a better birthday meal, as u can see!

I love this place! The food is awesome– my favorite is the hangar steak. The mac and cheese is slammin too. Great atmosphere– even if you don’t sit outside, you still have views of the lake. Super friendly staff and great music on Friday nights.
Of course they had some learning curves the first month or so of being open, but they have def worked out all the kinks.
Love this place and will continue to go back and recommend to my friends!

been here twice now and both times the food was good. highly recommend their burgers! atmosphere is nice with the lake and the new renovations. we will be back :)

We first came here for brunch on Mother’s Day. I should have known there would be problems when we made the Mother’s Day reservation and they told us kids under a certain age were free, but then when we got the bill, we were charged for them. We didn’t mind, the kids ate a decent plate, but it was the communication that lacked. The manager told us they would take $ 30 off our bill if we came back since they already ran the card. The brunch food was decent and so was the price. We saw their dinner menu and decided to give it a try with another couple. For appetizers, we had their french onion soup. The soup was so peppery (like it was sitting for a few days and they had to spice it up) and full of a weird salty taste, but the cheese on top was good. I’ve had way better (and cheaper) and NJ diners. The price was ridiculous for a cup of soup. Our friend had ordered a salad and requested it come out with our soups. That never happened. Her salad came out with our salads before dinner, which turned out ok except they brought her a garden salad instead of caesar. They fixed it and brought out a new salad. For dinners, we had a variety of items. My husband had a burger which he said was good. Nothing special, but not bad either. I had a chicken papardelle dish with a mushroom sauce. The sauce had zero flavor, like it came from the lipton sauce packets and NO mushrooms! Where were the mushrooms for a MUSHROOM dish? The chicken was soggy and had little flavor. I would have sent it back, but I was too hungry. Plus, the same friend who had the salad mixup ordered a flatbread pizza. The sauce tasted like Ragu right out of the can. No herbs, no spices, just tomato sauce and little cheese. She sent it back it was that bad. She ordered a medium well burger and it took forever for kitchen to get it out. I get it was medium well, but there should have been a rush on it. They ended up only taking $ 20 off our bill after the Mother’s Day payment issue instead of the $ 30, but since we aren’t coming back I didn’t fight it. Our server was ok, but really lacked any sort of food knowledge when asking about menu items.
Would we come back? No. Too bad, considering being on the lake is very nice. The prices are ridiculous for the quality of food presented. I would rather go to a diner. Maybe they are trying too hard, considering the brunch was fine and the burger seemed ok. It just really missed «The Mark». (sorry, I had to!)

Great new place right on the water. Service great, food great, bartender understanding ;-) can’t wait to go back to try out their brunch!!!
