Excellent food, perfect atmosphere, and outstanding service! Enjoyed the exceptionally fresh salad bar and fresh seafood! Our server, Delia, was the perfect blend of friendliness and attentive service! The Dolphin Bar and Shrimp House is one of our favorite places! Thanks for such a great experience every time we visit!

This used to be one of our favorites but it has gotten very ‘tired’ in the last couple of years. The restaurant needs a good sprucing up. The food is mediocre at best and the menu is limited. The shrimp in my ‘Shrimp and Grits’ we’re rubbery and dry and the grits were not creamy at all. Service is good and in spite of being crowded we received our meals promptly. If you’ve never been to the Dolphin Bar it’s worth the trip just to check out the very nice gift shop, otherwise there are a lot of better restaurants in the Stuart area. We won’t be going back.

Had a very nice lunch — a chef’s special– with a tropical drink looking out at the water on a beautiful sunny day. Doesn’t get much better than this!

Ordered broiled hogfish and the house potato. There was absolutely no taste and the fish was mushy. Our guest had coconut shrimp and only picked at it. Nice atmosphere, nice waitress and lousy food. Wouldn’t go back!

I hate to say it, but this place is a true rip-off. I really believe with some serious re-vamping this restaurant could be the wonderful, authentic Floridian spot it used to be, but as of right now I am completely dissatisfied with it. Literally every item on the menu is overpriced. Beyond that, this overpriced food is nothing to write home about– consistently under-seasoned and poorly executed. While the restaurant is in a beautiful location right on the water, the decorations are outdated and the whole place has a feeling about it that everything around you has a thin layer of dust on it. I do not mind paying top dollar for a meal if I feel I was provided with a worthwhile dining experience, but seriously I have had better seafood down the road at the hole-in-the-wall Conchy Joes… and that’s saying something. If anything, my advice is to come for a drink by the water and then have your actual meal elsewhere.

This place is great. The most fantastic shrimp & lobster bisque, it is to die for. Never have had any better. The atmosphere is so charming, taking a step back in time, love the memorabilia, original owner was Frances Langford. Great location, right on the water. This is another MUST visit every time we are in Stuart. Staff is always friendly & attentive. Love the Dolphin Bar, and the gift shop is fun to visit before or after you eat!

We wanted a restaurant with a view on the water. We found the Dolphin Bar and Grill to be the perfect spot. The waiter Tita overheard me saying I was parched, he immediately delivered ice water with lemon. My Bloody Mary was perfect and hit the spot. The chili crusted tuna was suggested and proved to be delicious my husbands lobster bisque was good and his stuffed shrimp was excellent, accompanied by risotto and peas. Overall a very delightful dining experience in Sewells’s Point on the water.

Well, this was my first adventure to the Dolphin Bar and it was GREAT! I was met at the door by some seriously friendly(and cute) hostesses and they directed me to the Tiki Bar. I walked to the Tiki Bar and met«Pam» my bartender. She was friendly and quickly took my drink order. She then suggested the daily special, Grouper Sliders… and they were great! The food came out quick, it was well presented, and fresh. The atmosphere at the Tiki Bar was great… and the price was reasonable. The restaurant was clean and the bar was on the river(ocean.) I was impressed, I had a good time, and I will visit again.

I was so happy to find out this old place still existed. Its like stepping back in time. The memorabilia is a wonderful tribute to the original owner, Frances Langford. The location is great. We went on a Thursday night. Not crowded at all. I had the turkey pot pie. It was a little on the bland side. The service was good and the waitress was friendly. I would go back again.

I’m very surprised by the negative reviews of this place. I’ve been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. They have a fantastic happy hour with food and drink specials. The view outside is amazing. How can you not like this place? I went here for brunch with my bestie and goddaughter. No wait, they seated us outside quickly. I’d never tried them for brunch yet but I thought, what the heck? We started with the sampler appetizer with crab claws, fish dip and peel and eat shrimp. AMAZING. None of us had eaten yet and it was almost 1:30pm so we were ravenous. That appetizer lasted about 3 minutes. My bestie needed a little hair of the dog so she got a mimosa. She said it was«glorious». Her and I ordered the omelette and waffle combo, which came with 2 sides. You could choose from the sides on the menu or they had«brunchy» sides to pick from. I chose bacon and grits. Holy mother. Those were some of the best grits I’ve ever had in my life. The bacon was very crispy, exactly how I like it and even though I forgot to ask for crispy bacon, it came out perfect. They weren’t chintzy on the portion either. It was several pieces of crisp, perfect bacon. In case you haven’t noticed, I like BACON. They had an omelette and waffle station, run by a chef who would cook up whatever omelette you little heart desires. There were plenty of ingredients to choose from. OMG. My omelette was HUGE. I had bacon, spinach and jalapeños, plus 2 types of cheese. Yes, more bacon. It had to weigh about 2 pounds. The waffle was absolute perfection. Golden and crisp. No soggy waffles here! There were also a plethora of toppings to pick from. I slapped on some butter, syrup on one side and raspberry Melba sauce on the other. Absolutely wonderful. I ate every single thing except for half of my waffle. My goddaughter even said, «You eat a lot!» I told her yes, yes I do. When mama is hungry, she can put it away. She had the shrimp salad sandwich and loved it. Disclaimer: I did not go to my doctor for a cholesterol check after eating this meal. But what was even better than the meal, if that’s even possible, was our server, Gunner. He was beyond incredible and one of the best servers I’ve ever had in my life. I do not say that lightly. I used to wait tables and he was phenomenal. He was funny, charismatic, very personable, pleasant and super attentive. He anticipated just about everything and brought us whatever we asked for in a very timely manner. He never fell off the face of the earth and left us wondering if a gator got him or something. Gunner made great suggestions and was right on point about everything. He checked on us consistently throughout the meal, refilled our drinks and took excellent care of us. If you go to Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House, ask for Gunner. I know I will next time I’m there! Thanks again Gunner for your excellent service!

Overall, I would not recommend eating here. Although the atmosphere is dated and the service was adequate, the food was tasteless. The calamari tasted as if it was dipped in flour without seasoning. The beef stroganoff tasted terrible, almost like liver. I gave this restaurant 2 stars because it was clean and the service wasn’t bad. But for $ 25+ per entrée, you can find a much better meal elsewhere — probably anywhere.

My recommendation for Dolphin Bar would be to sit outside overlooking the water and just grab a drink or two. If you are really hungry, maybe get a bowl of the Shrimp and Lobster Bisque. Though we thoroughly enjoyed the view, the service was slow and the food was mediocre at best.

Hot wife and I went here for lunch today, even after reading the previous reviews. I was shocked at how far off the reviews really were, especially the negative ones saying the place«was a dump» another said they had concerns about the kitchens cleanliness. Really? Here? At the salad bar you can see into the kitchen, it looked spotless. I digress. The service to start was on the slow side. We were seated outside when we got there, but it took several minutes for our waiter to arrive and take drink orders. He was apologetic, and attentive without being intrusive for the rest of our meal. We both had the Shrimp and Lobster bisque soup, and the salad bar. The bisque was outstanding! Rich, creamy, little spoonfuls of goodness. I highly recommend. The salad bar was very good. They had quality ingredients, fresh veggies, and some tasty side items as well. I was impressed. The place itself is surprisingly large. Several areas to dine, inside, outside, and at the expansive bar. All have great views of the Indian River. All that being said, the drink prices are quite steep, hence the 4 stars. We just had beer, and it seemed more like resort style pricing(we charge more for drinks cause we can). Good find was the Fat Tire on tap. Definitely will be back.

This place has gone downhill fast. Poor food, service and overpriced Service was horrible Friday 10⁄31 Asked another waitstaff for water and was told«I’ll get ur waiter» really! The place was not busy. Service very slow. Lots of staff standing around. Food was bland and over priced. Prime rib portion was thin. Mahi was flavorless. Salads were good. Great views. Decent ½ apps happy hour. Older crowd. Just another restaurant in Stuart with good location and views with poor food. S

Bland, mediocre, expensive food. The view is beautiful, as is the building itself, but the food is really not worth coming for. The shrimp and lobster bisque was actually really tasty and was the only thing I’d recommend. The fried calamari were fine, nothing wrong with them but nothing really good about them either. The fried dolphin fingers completely lacked flavor, they could have been made of anything. The piña colada coconut fried shrimp was just bad Fried shrimp with way too much grated coconut put on top(not added to the batter). They come with this odd pineapple sauce that didn’t help matters on one side of the plate, and then some coconut milk on the other side. The worst thing we ordered was the Buffalo shrimp. This is just shrimp tossed in your standard cheap, overly tangy wing sauce. It was downright gross :( The rum runners are good. If I was in the area I’d just enjoy a drink and take in the nice interior and view, but skip the food.

I’m torn on this review. My entrée was overpriced and somewhat tasteless(Shrimp Scampi), but damn — that Shrimp & Lobster Bisque — woo! And when the menu says«served with sherry on the side» they actually mean that they bring you THEENTIREBOTTLE of sherry so you can fancy up your soup as you please! And damn, it’s a tasty combo. Other than the soup and the location, this place wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Prices are way too high for the quality of the food. Not sure I’d ever go out of my way for a return visit.
