Oh man… this place needs serious help… The place doesnt even have soda guns. A jack &coke was a jack and pepsi from a bottle lol. Not sure how this place has a 4 starr rating. The lady bartender was extremely rude, I guess she doesnt like meeting new people. She seemed annoyed. Terrible service. When you enter the bar it looks like a VFW. Avoid this place as much as possible, not a friendly crowd at all.

I don’t want to say too much… it is up to us, the non-yuppie, hipster doofuses of JC to keep Bobby Dee’s douchewagon FREE… may the gods help us that those Hoboken morons don’t find out about it…

Finally, I get a chance to check out a local Irish Pub Upon entering there was a Lady in a Muumuu laid out on one of the benches and Another man smoking a cigarette. Inside the bar was a man in a Suit, and a women laughing to everything he was saying in her ear. He kept the pool stick next to him firmly erect in his hands as he talked nowhere near the pool table There was no bartender. Next, thing I know. The guy smoking the cigarette changed his hat and he was the bartender. He quickly told me all the drinks, What stood out for me was the Guinness Nitro, she was very happy in the fall to get a Summer Shandy. The bartender was energetic and full of stories. The way i like them. Couple of other patrons walked in. The TV’s where playing sports. Please! can we change the television?, Without hesitation. Bartender quickly turned the Tv to Saturday Night live. Then the other TV played one of those«found footage horror movies’ That gave everyone the chance in the bar to yell obscenities at the television. «stupid bitch» don’t fall etc. I like this place. I will be back.

Great local bar, the kind of place where after a few visits you feel as though you’ve always been a regular. Clean and friendly, the crowd here is a little bit unique; I would say this bar is the kind of place where you make your own scene, rather than the kind of place you go to for the scene. Both regular bartenders are very welcoming and happy to chat you up, and I can even say I’ve had a buy back or two come my way here. If there is a game on it’s a little more crowded than usual, but it’s never too crowded. Love their pool table and Jukebox, but beware, the Jukebox is dangerous! Last time I was here I think I spent more money on the Juke box than I did on drinks! Cash Only*. *Pro tip: The nearest late night ATM is at Christ Hospital on Palisades Ave(on the left side of the hospital when you are approaching Palisades Ave). Carry out beers available for about $ 14 a 6 pack.

You know what is the best part of Bobby Dee’s? It’s a lesson to all of the new JC Heights residents(ourselves included) about what makes this city great. Period. Bobby’s is a working(Wo)Mans bar. It has long hours, a very loyal clientele and everything you want in your neighborhood bar. Ok, so it is not a craft beer spot — who gives a HOOT. You want that? Go DOWNTOWN … this is The Heights. A neighborhood made on industry, immigrants and families. A place where your grandfather went to get out of the house, and probably mine. We are privileged to have a place like Bobby’s in the Heights. Downtown has The Lamp Post and Lucky’s … we have stalwarts like Bobby Dees and The Lincoln Inn. Our most recent memory of Bobby Dee’s is witnessing Team USA beat Russia in the Sochi Olympics. They opened up at 7:30 and let about twenty of us bring in a full breakfast spread. It was by far one of, if not the best sporting experience we have been part of. There also was the time THEDUO shared our ‘long day’ woes with the woman next to us … who happened to be enjoying shots of Sambuca with her Miller Lite nips. She was delightful and full of hope — just what we needed. Ya know what though? The memory THEDUO is most looking forward to is our next time in Bobby’s — Im glad to have it right here in the Heights. You should be too.
