This place is awesome. These babies crunch! Journal Square wouldn’t be the same without em!

Been going for 35 years, stopped by yesterday after close to a year… Not the same. Don’t know if it’s new owners but the chili onions are gone!!! They were the best a hot onion seasoned with chili powder. Now they have the regular sabrett onions and separate meat chili. Sorry to see another great joint go away!

Love the hot dogs here. They are so good and when you bite them it’s a snap so you know they are fresh and grilled. Can’t just eat one .They are fast and that’s a plus.

The best hotdogs I’ve ever had. The hotdog and chile is recommended. My fiancé brought me here and there’s only like 5 seats so it’s more of a on the go. They are quick and nice though.

Best hot dogs hands down, have them plain or with their great chili. I love their orange drink but it’s just to wash down the 5+ hotdogs

As scary as hot dogs are they are tasty! So though every part of me tells me I shouldn’t eat hotdogs(especially my stomach), I’ll eat them once in a blue usually with the suggestion of someone else(my hotdog connoisseur lover). Now this place has perfected the simplicity of grilling a hotdog, placing it in hotdog bread and topping them off with several toppings of your choice. I go for onions, sauerkraut, ketchup & mustard. Some go for the chili too. I usually choose not to do that to my poor stomach & rear but I’ve heard the chili on top is good. This place is cheap & quick(if it isn’t crowded) & satisfies a mystery meat craving. Now, staff needs to keep track of who comes first because there are no rules in this place and unless you want to get into a fistfight with a crackhead people may skip you. I usually let them skip.

Boulevard Drinks is a dirty hole in the wall hot dog joint that looks outdated and from the set of That 70’s show. Also, theres a bum that hangs outside so the smell of urine might hit you before the smell of hot dogs. Having said that, the hot dogs are the best! Better than any papaya dog, grays papaya, gray papaya dogs or whatever in the city. Its better than rutts hut which is overrated. The taste of the hot dogs and chili is far better than anywhere else. I recommend holding your breath before entering to avoid the urine smell and ordering some chili dogs. When leaving you should hold your breath again until clear of the bum.

Solid hot dog spot; very similar to Gray’s and Papaya Dog, but will support this place since it’s not too far from the pad. Get a few with chili, oniions, and/or ‘kraut and you can’t go wrong.

Where do I begin? This place is a Jersey City Institution. It’s been around for decades and for good reason. Thee absolute best hotdogs in New Jersey, definitely the east coast, maybe the country, hands down, bar none, pencils down, no questions. Lol this is why: the hotdogs aren’t boiled in gross water, they’re crisped on a hot griddle giving them their signature *SNAP* in every bite. The meat is high quality and not that cheap stuff you get at «greys papaya». The hotdogs are so delicious you can get them just plain but my go to is the famous chili(pretty spicy) and a stripe of ketchup. I can put away, no lie, a half dozen in one sitting. Seriously wish I could give this place 6 stars, it’s making me angry

These dogs are delicious! Not as salty or as greasy as grays papaya but huge flavor and a great bite. The place itself us small, 7 stools and no standing room. Its not really clean which I’d the only reason for the 1 star drop. The chili dog us actually meaty and the kraut is crisp but not overly pickled. They also make lime rickeys if you ask, and I suggest you do.

This is what you call comfort. I have been coming here for 25 something years. Same quality every time. Now that I don’t live in Jersey City, I have to make the trip. If I am in the neighborhood, I have to stop. And if you come, you can’t just have one! No way Jose. Check this place out. Better than greys papaya, better than papaya king and any other dog place.

Tell a pregnant lady that you love Boulevard Drink’s hot dogs, and guess what happens? I picked up one hot dog after work this week — ketchup, mustard and ‘krauts and loved it! Like other reviewers, the spot reminded me of Grays Papaya in NYC. I’m not suppose to be eating these, I know but once in a while, I think my baby will be fine. I just can’t stop thinking about their dogs! …so what happens is the pregnant lady can’t stop thinking about these hot dogs!!!

I’ve been coming to this place since I was a kid and the hot dogs are just as good now as they were then. This is hands down the best hog dogs I’ve ever had in my life. My only other recommendation is to try a lime ricky. It’s a drink that I can only describe as an amazing concoction of deliciousness that will blow your mind. It’s not on the menu, but they still serve it up for those who ask just like they have for decades. The chili-dogs here are things of legend… It has amazing flavor and spice that perfectly compliments the perfectly cooked hotdogs that have that perfect snap when you take that first bite. That’s it… Game over… You win, Boulevard Drinks.

To all my New York implants now living in Jersey City, craving a good hotdog every now and then can now get them on this side of the water. Boulevard Drinks is the place and they are located in Journal Square right next to a bar/theater. This is a very small venue with about six stools inside with a walkup window for you to order your dogs to go. The prices are pretty reasonable and they remind me of a Gray’s Papaya hotdogs from NY. For all my hotdog lovers, this is the place for you and me.

A Jersey City institution. I was sort of sad they changed their sign. Old places like these makes you appreciate how doing one thing well makes a world of difference. This place is on my way home and every time I come out the path, I always wonder if I have cash and am I hungry enough for 1 – 2 chili dogs. Most of the time I move along and start again the next day, but there are times I lose. Hotdogs and buns are always fresh. Most of the toppings are also good as well. Make sure you know what you want before ordering or you’d just be messing the flow. Cash only. Just writing this review makes me want to go out and walk towards the square but I have to put on pants. Maybe on the way back home tomorrow.

Better than any truck hot dog. Better than any fair hot dog. Better than any hot dog place out there. This place gives famous Chicago hot dogs a run for its money. Cheap Friendly Take it on the go or sit and watch some of the square goonies in action. Get the chili topping, it has a kick to it. You can’t be from jersey city and not try their hot dogs. It’s one of those things that you have to understand.

Today began MY spring training… the ongoing quest for Jersey’s best hot dogs. A co-worker of mine grew up in Jersey City and he and I have been joined at the hip to find the best dogs… at least in the Northeastern part of the state. He sent me an email last night asking me if I wanted to try«the best hot dog place in Jersey City». What’s a guy to do? I can’t say No… right? Of course not. So we took the PATH from Newark to JC and got off in Journal Square and as we(three of us went) step out of the station I see a huge statue of Jackie Robinson… so I KNOW it’s going to be a good day. Anyway, we cross over to Boulevard Drinks for my buddy’s «best hot dogs in JC» and this place is TINY. Not small, not cramped, like you need to turn sideways to get past the first person in line… AND there are like 5 stools at the counter. Am I skeptical? NO! I can tell by the aroma of grilled dogs and sausage that I am in for a bit of epicurean delight this fine, chilly afternoon. I order two right off the bat — one Chili and cheese and one with the works-chili, kraut, onions, mustard. You’ll note the five star rating… I wish that said it all, but I’ll expand a bit. I LOVE grilled dogs and these were incredible. Nice snap in the Sabrett, onions had a little spice to them, and the chili and chesse were incredibly tasty. After wolfing down these two beauties I had another one with the works-and added the chili this time and it was 4 – 5 bites of heaven. As we stood there talking to the manager about food places, other hot dog joints, and good eats around JC, one of my buddies nudges me and asks if I’m gonna try the sausage… he turns to my other buddy and asks the same thing. Peer Pressure is a B**ch! Order up a sausage with kraut, mustard and ketchup… damn. Damn it was good. It was like adding a cherry and whip cream to a dessert. So between the three of us — 10 dogs, three sausages, three drinks, and a completely delicious, if not healthy, lunch. When it comes to hot dogs, five stars is a sure fire sign that I WILL be back. Boulevard Drinks, you just made it to the spot near the top of a very long list of hot dog joints that only hope to serve a dog as good as yours.

Best hot dogs in jersey city. It’s a basic spot and cash only but the hot dogs here are so good! Great on-the-go meal.
