Stopped in here with a friend for a quick bite to eat before going back to the city on a Sunday afternoon. Had the regular hot dog & shared cheese fries with a friend. Not super cheap fast food, but the hot dog was on the large side so I was fine with the price overall. Hot dog was yummy, crispy on the outside just the way I like it. Fries were very well done but I love them like that, so all was good. Cheese was served on the side which I also loved since sometimes I don’t want all that cheese poured all over the fries and it was nice to dip when I needed it. 1 thing I have to rave about: The staff! The 2 young ladies at the counter were SOOOOOO nice, from the second we walked in to when we left. They even brought us our food when it was ready and also asked mid-meal if we wanted drink refills. They displayed a lot of the old school hospitality that is sadly lacking in a lot of fast food establishments these days. Not one bit of attitude, indifference or lazyness here. When my order came out before my friend’s, they even put my hot dog back on the grill to keep warm until my friend’s order came out so that it wouldn’t be cold — without me having to ask! So rare that you see this level of awesome customer service at a fast food joint!

Ordered for the first time(delivery) 2 bacon cheeseburgers and fries. I think they are good, not great but good. Fries are actually very good and weren’t mooshy even after delivery. Burgers aren’t that big and no, they are not as good as 5 guys, but they are the best delivery burger so far. Johnny Rockets is terrible. Madison had a pretty good delivered burger, but it is very expensive. I tried a few others too, but so far if you go out it’s 5 guys and if you get it delivered it’s these guys. I just ordered a burger and a hot dog, so I’ll let you know about the hot dog.

The customer service is 5 stars! Very friendly staff. I got the tuna sandwich which wasn’t too bad. We also got the chili dog, the hot dog was really tasty with onions and chili but the roll part got really soggy and wasn’t edible. Also, got the Wild West End burger which comes with bacon and onions which wasn’t bad, but nothing special either. Restaurant is a bit overpriced for the food being served, as its fast food. Similar to Johnny Rockets ambiance but fast food(served in less than 3 minutes).

I love the WindMill. Their foot-long hot dog with chili and cheese is amazing. So yummy. I was here on New Year’s day with my friend. The staff here were super nice to us. The prices are very decent; can’t complain.(Trust me, I complain about food price all the time. I’m super cheap). Like one of the reviews says, «Everyone just seemed happy to be there and working.»

If I told you I ate 3 of their hot dogs, one with chili and cheese, and then threw up afterwards because I wanted more of these delicious franks, would you judge me? I guess I could’ve just bought more.

I went to the awesome Unilocal event hosted in Jersey City a few weeks back, and the first review I’m going to put out there(however late it may be!) has do go to Windmill. These guys were tremendously friendly and were excited to be there. I can only imagine how elated people are when they visit the restaraunt! Footlong %100 beef dogs with mouthwatering HOMEMADE chili. Now I’m hungry. I would love to try everything else here, but just knowing that they have a direct hit with their hotdogs leaves me to assume that everything else here is spot on.

It was two days after Hurricane Sandy. The waters had receded enough for us to leave our street and survey the damage around Hoboken. As we walked past Windmill, the owner’s mother-in-law waved is in for free food. The owner said all of the food was going to go bad since there was no power, so instead of wasting it he was giving it all away. He also donated a lot of it to the shelters. What a great place to give back to the community.

On Oct 31st when Hoboken has no power and no food places are open, Windmill was open. They were making food in the dark and offering free food/drinks to all those in need. Thank you Windmill for being so generous! On the other hand, as a Unilocaler, for the previous times I’ve been here, they have awesome fries!

cant wait to visit the windmill! we tried the Chili Cheese Dog at a Unilocal event the owners where serving them up with a smile and a super friendly attitude! Let me just say i am not a hot dog person, but my honey is… the windmill happened to be the first table we stopped at when we arrived at artoberfest. these hot dogs have got to be the biggest hot dogs i have ever seen, huge! they were being topped with chili and cheese… i wouldn’t of tried one if they didn’t look so yummy… lol…i am so glad i did. My honey and i luved them… chili was perfect, cheese sauce was perfect and the hot dog was amazin. We actually planned to split one but they looked so good we decided to not share and get one of our own… lol we stopped at the windmill table second time(at my honeys request) on our way out and we were told they close at 4am!(which i think is FAB) and my honey got a t-shirt, which he was excited about… lol. I cant wait to visit the windmill, checked there website out and looks like classic Americana food at its finest! thanks for a great«tasting» Windmill!

I was already a fan of Windmill before they arrived in Hoboken. I’ve been a regular at their Belmar location for years. Going back in time, there used to be a hot dog stand named Sidaroff’s next to D’Jais that made the best hot dogs. Once Sidaroff’s closed, I feel that Windmill became the king of the Jersey Shore dog. These are not pushcart style, water dogs; these hot dogs are huge, cooked on the griddle until they split all over. And Windmill has great fixins: fresh saurkraut, sweet/hot relish, fresh onions, mustard, etc. One hot dog is a meal in itself. Windmill /Hoboken delivers the same great food you’ll find at the Jersey Shore locations. In addition to the dogs, they have really delicious burgers/fries. An added bonus is that Windmill /Hoboken has GREATOUTDOORSPACE! Most of the outdoor dining in Hoboken is table service, so this casual indoor/outdoor eatary is a definite plus. Another positive note is that the staff and ownership are super nice. Simply put, Windmill is a welcome addition to the Hoboken food scene.

Fantastic hot dogs. Chicken sandwiches are pretty okay. Their fries are okay. The burgers are pretty meh — you can do better, though you’ll have to walk a couple blocks. It’s never really too crowded and they’re quick. The staff won’t make any kind of small talk with you. There’s ample seating inside. And if there isn’t, you can just go walk to the park or take your dog and get on the go — it’s located right next to the PATH, so it’s kinda perfect for that.

It is too good to be true. Now I do not have to go to the shore for an excellent hot dog. Great place after work to go scoop up some delicious hot dogs and kraut to bring home. Dogs come out fast and the service is competent. Disregard any other reviews for anything else. They are noobs getting something other than a hot dog.

Alright folks… I’ve changed my mind. WindMill has darn good hotdogs. Top them with cheese and sautéed onions and you’re good to go. The chill cheese fries are good as well. My beef with the place is still that the delivery service they use hits you up with a 3 dollar fee. Other than that, they’re doing a-okay in my book.

Disclaimer: I haven’t tried the hot dogs yet. I’ve had the chicken sandwiches each time I’ve been here because they are really damn good, especially with the hot pepper relish they have. It’s tough to get a better chicken sandwich than what WindMill offers; perfect level of crispiness and flavor. The hot dogs look great, even though I haven’t gotten around to trying one yet. Nice and thick, the way a hot dog should be. The fries are alright, but I’m not a fan of crinkle-cut, so many people probably love them. Service was alright, nothing to call home about, but definitely not bad. I haven’t been to this place sober/before midnight yet, but if you like some good fast food, stop by here. Seriously, do it. And buy me a hot dog while you’re at it, doused in that hot pepper relish.

Been here twice already. I admit — I do like the crinkle cut fries here. However, being the ketchup fanatic that I am, I recommend using the Heinz ketchup packs as opposed to the ketchup bottle. Either the ketchup in the bottle is old or it ain’t Heinz. The second visit, I opted for the Wild West End Burger — which included BBQ sauce, cheese, bacon, and sauteed onions. It was OK. The BBQ sauce was watered down, and it was too much bun for the burger. If the WindMill is more known for their hotdogs, then I’ll give that a try. But for right now, this place gets 2 ½ stars at best. And next time I’m in Hoboken, craving for a burger, I’ll head over to either Johnny Rockets or Five Guys instead.

This place is pretty good. It’s just simple food, some people writing reviews may hurt themselves after falling from their high horses so watch out. It’s a hot dog joint, what do you expect? They have good hot dogs and cheese fries. They have great toppings that are free like kraut, pepper spread, onions, etc. I haven’t tried the hamburger yet and probably won’t. I can get good hamburgers elsewhere. But a great hot dog is harder to come buy, it beats a stand any day. The staff has been more than friendly the couple times I’ve been here and very accommodating especially after my soda took a face plant on their floor, they got me a new one, mopped it up and were laughing with me about it. It’s certainly better than Lucky’s that was there before that place was overpriced McDonald’s. Windmill is certainly better than that. If you’re expecting gourmet hot dogs/hamburgers/sandwiches seriously stay at Teak or Wicked Wolf. For a place that is open really late on weekends, has great staff and an incredibly simple and tasty menu I hope they do well!

They screwed up the hot dog. It had a huge, deep, black crack all the way from top to bottom and was extremely oily. As the other reviewer put it: total crap. The WindMill in Westfield is way better! However, the guy behind the counter was very friendly, so one extra star for that.

Keep moving on, nothing to see here. Wait for the next burger joint to open up in this space. There is little redeeming about the food. The burgers taste like those high fat frozen patties you had when you were young at a community BBQ. Thanks for the memories, but I’ve moved on. If I’m paying the posted prices, I expect more. The hot dogs didn’t shine either. I’m fairly certain I’ve had a tastier dollar dog in Las Vegas(and that dollar dog wasn’t that tasty). From what I can gather the WindMill made their bucks fleecing shore-goers with limited dining options. Under those circumstances a subpar menu can suffice. This is Hoboken, however… we deserve better.

As the only place in town to get a late-night burger not named MacDonalds or ending in «Diner», it’ll have to do. A slight step above fast food, the burgers taste like BK, heavy on char broiled taste with fresh tasting L/T/O…nowhere near as good as Lucky’s(RIP), but very edible with a buzz. Good fries. I like the beginnings of a Hoboken mural on the wall, but they still have a long way to go…

Loving this place management staff very nice even offered me a slice of cake to welcome me to the place. Walking by I just had the fries here The management staff was very eager to get people in. This is there first day of operation the Décor is pretty much like lucky burger. The staff said no specials for the first day but that’s ok because the food is pretty affordable. Everyone just seemed happy to be there and working.
