I find this place disgusting. I used to like it a little, so I have been here a number of times, but I am now fed up with it. There have been several times when there is something like bone particles in my burger and I have almost chipped a tooth on my burger. The fries are terrible too, but at least I don’t almost chip a tooth on them. On top of that, the price of a burger, regular fries and a regular drink is the same or even a little more than the same meal at a real restaurant like Arthur’s or Brass Rail or ONieals where the quality of the food is far better than 5 Guys. I am never going back to 5 Guys.

What can I say about 5 Guys? Good place to get a burger in the wee hours of the evening. They would drown you with the amount of fries that give you which is great. Burgers never disappoint. This location was fairly clean considering it’s on a busy Hoboken street around the time the zombies are coming out of the bars scavenging for food. The 2 guys behind the counter were friendly and made our orders as quick as they could possibly make it without getting us sick.

Good, typical of other locations. Fries are crispy, burgers are tasty. Still fast food, though, so only once in a while.

Pretty good burgers; excellent service! Paid for a milkshake only to realize later that the milkshake machine wasn’t ready. The employee gladly refunded our money because he said it would take too long to start up. However, my girlfriend and I sat and ate for ~30 mins before the same employee swung by our table and gave us a milkshake/soda on the house for our«inconvenience!!!» No we weren’t inconvenience; just awed by wonderful service :)

When my fattitude is on fleek, I take a trip to Five Guys in Hoboken for the best fries and coffee milkshake EVER. They are conveniently located on Washington Street — a short walk from the Path train and many buses. Lawd, so good and so bad for you. The service here is always fast and relatively friendly. Five stars for Five Guys!

We had a quick lunch here and, as always, we had a really good meal. Décor: It’s a Five Guys so the décor is standard: it’s bright, clean, and set up with nothing to hide as you can see your burger being made every step of the way. Bathroom: Again, it’s a standard Five Guys bathroom: clean, bright, inviting. Staff: The staff was friendly and very FAST(both with taking our order and preparing the food). Another thing that is pretty obvious is that they seem to like working there, they seem happy and energetic. Food/Drink: I only had a burger and a hot dog and both were prepared to perfection. Seriously, they were cooked perfectly and everything tasted so fresh! We had the cajun fries(which is just a salt/seasoning) and I had the free peanuts — I love the peanuts — and they were both very fresh as well. Finally, we just had a water. Value: For the price, you can’t beat the solid burger & fries combo at Five Guys. Both taste wonderful and are pretty cheap as well. This is a solid spot that we will continue to come back to on occasion.

I love 5 guys but yesterday’s burger was awful. I have high cholesterol and treat myself to meal at 5 guys per month and last night was my burger day. I always order a bacon cheeseburger in a lettuce wrap but last night i was given a burger bowl. I waited in line again to to get my burger and was told by a redhead that they don’t make wraps there. They do and after some discussion I got it except I was missing bacon, tomatoes, pickles, hot sauce and ketchup I order! So yeah, it wasn’t great. When I mentioned the bacon was missing I was given cold bacon on the side. WORSTBURGEREVER!

When I’m looking for a burger and fries there is no other option than five guys. So far it is the best burger in Hoboken that I have tried. Like all other Five Guys locations the burger and fries are made consistently and I always leave with a smile on my face. The milkshake i tried was good, but not a reason to go there imo. Also the prices seem to be getting higher but hard to argue when it is still cheaper than Bareburger and other places, and the food is better.

Convenient take-away food with nice stuff. A typical hamburger and a milkshake is enough for a good-appetite girl like me. Duckbill allowed.

Had a burger and fries. Fast reliable service. You know your getting a good party when you see your meat sizzle on a grill. Check out the milkshakes. Most people haven’t heard of them but they are awesome. I like the peanut butter ones.

I like Five Guys for a burger/fries/soda lunch, but I think they’re pushing the price point. A ‘small’ cheeseburger with fries and a small soda is getting painfully close to $ 12. C’mon guys. The food is always good and fresh though, and that’s the plus. I always have a few complimentary peanuts, but I could live without that.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said? Burgers are tasty, awesome that the toppings are free too. The portions of fries are insane as well. My go to is a bacon cheeseburger with pickles :) I usually put ketchup(and occasionally mayo) on my burger but I actually prefer Five Guys burgers without any condiments because the meat is so tasty. Hehehehe.

Listen, 5 guys may be a touch on the expensive side… But this location? Has some of THE best service in all of Hoboken. They bend over backwards, crayons for the kids, they saw I was dealing with my daughter who spilled something they delivered my food to the table(which they didn’t have to do) helped me clean, cheered my daughter up. Above and beyond in the kindness department will always keep me coming back. Thanks guys! Keep it up!

I don’t typically eat burgers, but the ones here are too good to pass up. All your burgers are made to order, which means they don’t put the patty on the grill until you’ve gone up to the register. They’re a little pricy at $ 5.99 for a «mini» — 1 patty burger. BUT as other reviewers mentioned, the toppings are free. AND there’s plenty to choose from. They offer grilled onions and grilled mushrooms too in addition to the standard lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, etc.(PS. I think the 2 patty burger is a $ 1.00 more). My guilty pleasure is their fries though — CAJUNFRIES. YUMM! These guys are very generous. If you order a «regular» they overfill the cup. There’s even extra in your bag. They’re the best when they just come off the fryer. I can’t stand spicy things, but I’ll take the heat of these fries. They’re seasoned so perfectly. Lastly, I’m pretty sure they use peanut oil! Stay away if you have allergies(which kinda sucks cause you’re missing out on an awesome thing).

I love a greasy burger every now and again and nobody does it better than Five Guys. Burgers are made to order with plenty of topping options. Burgers can be expensive, but I think it evens out since toppings cost extra at most other places. At Five Guys they are free. So if you like lots of toppings its well worth it. They upgraded the soda machine to a newer model with 20+ flavors. Its a cleaner look with more options. I approve! Free peanuts are a nice touch too. Keep your peanut allergy friends away!

Great drunk food. I’ve stumbled in to this 5 Guys after a night of drinking and it did the trick. A hot burger and a bag full of fries is the ultimate food for someone trying to sober up. Five guys is in different league than McDonald’s, Wendy’s, etc so you’re automatically going to get better food than you typical fast food sit down restaurant. The fact that you can customize your burger is also nice, since some competitors don’t always allow you to build your meal. Like Scott I’d like to give them a 3.5 in star raitings but I’ll go with a 3 so I’m not inflating the reviews just for the sake or rounding up. 5 Guys has good food, but there are better options nearby in Hoboken and Jersey City. I’ll update my review if I’m ever sober and decide to eat here ;)

Best burger I’ve had from a fast food place, umm. EVER! Hot dogs are amazing too. Sliced in half cooked to a crisp. I get it with mustard raw onions and pickles. Just like my fav hot dog place Hot Dog Johnny’s! Yummy

If the Unilocal scale permitted finer gradations I’d give Five Guys 3.5 stars, but alas it does not, so I’ll round up to 4. Of course, if it did, I’d probably still complain that it didn’t allow ratings of 3.2 or 3.7 stars, but that’s another story(what can I say? I like precision). On to the food: the burgers here are really good, and if the comps are other fast-food joints(Wendy’s, McDonald’s, etc.), it’s no contest — Five Guys has them beat by a mile. I lived in Southern CA for a few years, and I’m familiar with(and fond of) In-N-Out and Fatburger, and I’d say Five Guys burgers are better than In-N-Out’s(I like thicker patties). Five Guys burgers are fresh(no frozen meat here) and juicy, the buns are soft, and there’s an extensive list of high-quality toppings to choose from as you customize your meal. So far, so great. The fries, on the other hand, are only so-so. They’re thick-cut, but they’re more soft than crispy on the outside. And they give you a giant bag full of them — way more than I’d ever want to eat. There’s only one serving size with the fries, and it’s about enough to feed four people. If you’re looking to supersize your meal and, eventually, yourself, this is not a problem, but I usually end up throwing most of them out, and then feeling a little guilty that I wasted that food(though not as guilty as I’d feel if I polished off 3000 calories’ worth of fries). In a way, the same issue crops up with the burgers: at most places, a single quarter-pound patty is the ‘regular’ burger, and a half-pound, two-patty burger is a ‘double’. Here, they invert the usual terminology: the half-pounder is a ‘burger’, and the quarter-pounder is a ‘little’ burger, or a ‘petite’, or something like that. So unless you’re a kid or a small adult, they sort of guilt you into ordering the double — er, I mean the ‘burger’. And if you resist, the cashier calls your order out into the microphone thusly: ‘LITTLE burger, for the guy here in the navy coat, who apparently doesn’t have much of an appetite.” OK, so I made that last part up, but you get the point: if you come here, you’re going to get a big burger, and really big fries. OK for once in awhile, but if they had more normal-sized fries and named the burgers differently, I’d come here more often.

I agree with Eric T. I have been to Five Guys in at least Five States and the taste is slightly different, especially in the southern states. I don’t think consistency is an advantage for customers. It is good to have different taste in every grill. with that being said, this branch is one of my favorite for take-out burger. If you want to enjoy your burger in a nice setting area, then you are not in the best place.

I have been to a number of Five Guys, and this one left me a little disappointed. First of all, this may be one of the most expensive Five Guys in the country! A hamburger is a full $ 1 more(at $ 6.50) than what I paid in Chicago! It’s more expensive than Jersey City and even Manhattan locations(though just barely, on the latter). What? Hoboken? Second, my fries were a bit under cooked and my burger, though it had all the right toppings, just didn’t «pop» for me. On the up side, they do have two of those awesome Coke drink dispensers(I believe they’re called«Freestyle»). This is a very big place, so there is lots of seating. But I went at noon on a weekday, and the place was virtually empty and there was no line. While I was there waiting and eating, maybe 15 – 20 people came through. Surely that’s a sign there’s something not entirely right here. I think Five Guys is probably the best *national* burger chain, so it’s sad that this one, so close to home, is sub par.
