Crepe Guru

A night out on the town and we stumble upon this little shop filled with deliciousness! From sweet to savory crêpe options, this place may be small but sure jam packs all the best favors in their crepes!
For all those nutella lovers out there, nutella is on every sweet crêpe — yes, it is heaven!

They have awesome crepes and they’re pretty reasonable. I really like this place. Everyone who works here is always friendly and professional.

Let me just say that the reason we came here was because of the reviews on Unilocal!We were exploring Hoboken for the first time and wanted to get a little something to eat that wasn’t too expensive. I’ve had dessert crepes plenty of times, but this was the first time I have a savory crêpe. I got the dy-​no-​myte crêpe and my husband got the southwest. The place is really small, not a lot of seating, but that’s okay because the crepes are designed so that they can be eaten on the go. We ate at the outdoor table and were really impressed. Next time I plan to try a dessert crêpe! Go there!

I wasn’t going to review this place but I decided why not? My first experience with this place was non-​existent considering my boyfriend and I, decided on a whim to try this place out. My boyfriend was frustrated after trying to find parking for a long time to then find out that the place wasn’t opened when it should have been. The second experience, I was craving crepes badly and I saw that I could order through Unilocal which I did. I ordered chicken crêpe and a nutella crêpe with extra ingredients. I enjoyed the chicken crêpe and nutella crêpe but it wasn’t like «oh my god, I have to try again.» There are places like that in my life but I wouldn’t say I am a crêpe expert.

Seems a little over priced, but anyways the crêpe was good but when we were almost finished we noticed a couple cockroaches climbing on the walls, totally turned me off from ever eating here again.

My friend and I wanted good casual food that didn’t entail waiting service. It was also past 10.
Crêpe Guru was perfect.
I got a savory Chipotle chicken crêpe, wishing so badly I had room to try a sweet one. The chicken was moist and good quality, tasty grilled onions, standard lettuce, tomato, and the SAUCE really made it into a deliciously huge hand held bite.
It’s fun to be able to watch your crêpe being made out in the open.
The place is very small, with a few bar seats and a table. Often packed with what seemed like intoxicated and high college students the later it is.
Docked 1 star for prices.
Don’t expect gourmet, but it’s yummy and definitely above average for what it is.

«Crappy Crepes»
The savory crêpe tasted pretty good, but was too dry, it was crumbling in pieces as if it was pita chips.
The 2 sweet crepes were terrible.
The one with Nutella, was not stuffed as one might think, but it was just slightly drizzled. It was so stiff, it was hard to bite into it. I have not seen such a horrible crêpe in my life.
The apple and caramel one was even worse.
Our total was $ 35.99. Which is a ridiculous price for 1 half way decent crêpe, 2 barely edible ones and the worst delivery service.
My husband got 3 calls from the delivery driver and spent about 15 minutes on the phone with him explaining how to get here. Which is unbelievable as we live in one of the most famous buildings in the area, it has 2 restaurants and bank on the ground level. Moreover, it is shown on google maps precisely where it is. We have been ordering delivery from different restaurants almost every day for the past 2 years, and there was only a couple more cases when delivery could not find us straight away.
It took them 1.15 minus to deliver the order even though we are just 10 min away.

Just shared 2 crepes and they were delicious. Perfectly cooked and the sweetness we were looking for. We had the S’mores and the Nutty Caramel Apple… can’t go wrong there.

Since I live on campus it’s great finding places that deliver good food. Not only am I spared a meal from pierce but I am also able to eat and stay in my dorm so I can continue working.
I ordered a chicken chipotle crêpe which was very good. It was my first time eating a crêpe without a fork and knife since they provided it wrapped in a paper triangular cup. Very good.
I also ordered a sweet crêpe. They were out of bananas so instead I ordered a Nutella, strawberry walnut crêpe. Size of walnut chunks made it hard to eat with a the provided plastic utensils (the fork actually broke) and I would’ve preferred a higher fruit to Nutella ratio. Still good though and definitely satisfied my sweet tooth.
Would recommend and will be ordering again.

The chef is so cool and wonderful and their crepes are HEAVENLY. Would go back again and again and develop sugar problems if I lived near by!!! SOOOOOOOO GOODDDDD. Best crêpe place I’ve been to in the Hoboken area

This place is cheating. Who doesn’t like gooey Nutella in a thin pancake contraption with strawberries and bananas and ICE CREAM?
Had a nice conversation with one of the guys making my crepes (yes, I got two at once – so what?). Friendly, great service, and of course most importantly, great food.
Definitely recommend if you have a hankering for chocolate or need something to satisfy a sweet tooth, but let’s not discount those savory crepes. I had buffalo chicken; it was excellent.

Me n my husband were looking for a good dessert, n we came across Crêpe Guru. Ordered cheese cake n strawberry crêpe, it was marvellous! !!wonderful combination of fresh cream, chocolate sauce, cheese cake.

Good crepes. I tried their strawberry, banana, nutella crêpe. It was really good, the portion was also great.
The ambiance is OK, we were at the patio. The patio has four tables. Small place but a good place.

I was having a hard time deciding whether to give this four or five stars. The food here is amazing, one of the chefs, Anthony, is very nice and makes the best crepes ever! The place has dinner and dessert crepes that are very creative. Every time I go to Hoboken I have to come here.
There was one time however I didn’t enjoy my experience as much because one of the cashiers was high and/​or drunk. I found it very unprofessional and gross to be in that state while on the job. This man also gave me the wrong change (not a lot, but still?) and due to the state he was in, he had no idea what was going on. I still got my crêpe that Anthony had made, which was delicious.
This was only one time that I did not have a good experience. I decided that one bad time and twenty good times shouldn’t mean that they shouldn’t get the star.

LOCATION: Pretty easy to spot in amongst the other restaurants and bars. Real tiny little place though.
DECOR: Very very small, barely any indoor seating. Had a couple little tables outside that we sat at and ate our crepes.
FOOD: I never thought crepes could be for meals other than breakfast or dessert! They had the regular kind of crepes available that were filled with things such as blueberries, strawberries, nutella, whip cream, etc. But I opted for one of their lunch style crepes and this had grilled chicken, ranch, bacon, lettuce and cheese inside. It was so good! Almost like a wrap basically, but the crêpe outside was tastier. They had a lot of other lunch choices too, like chipotle chicken crêpe and one with pesto/​chicken, etc. Definitely was a filling lunch, crepes were pretty big in size.
SERVICE: friendly workers. Ordered the food and it took maybe 5 – 10 minutes for them to make our 3 different crepes. Pricing wasn’t bad either.

Came here for a fellow friend’s birthday. The group I was with decided to go for a mix of savory and sweet crepes.
The ordering experience is your typical hole in the wall. From the owner personally making your crepes and talking about which bars our group should hit up after eating, it’s very close-​knit. As for the food, I ended up getting the Bourbon Steak crêpe with a side of ice cream. The owner looked at me confused asking if I wanted the ice cream with the bourbon steak, and I said, «Yes.» Trust me guys, do it. Firstly, the crêpe I had is amazing. Though a little small for my taste (I eat a lot), the flavors blended super well together. The steak was tantalizing and moist. In addition, I could definitely tell the ice cream was homemade just by the unique taste it gave off. I’m sure if I got a sweet crêpe instead, I would have the same great experience with the ice cream.
Another friend of mine got the Tiramisu cake crêpe. The owner chopped up the cake on top of the cooked crêpe and wrapped it and plated it nicely with whipped cream and ice cream. If I had more money to blow that night, I would have definitely gotten both crepes because they looked absolutely magnificent.
Overall, I would definitely come back here if I’m in the mood for crepes.

Mind you, if I was tipsy and I came here at 1AM, I would be an even happier man for sure.

As someone who is very familiar with French cuisine and adores crepes, I was happy to come across Crêpe Guru on Unilocal and decided to bring the crew over since we were celebrating my birthday in Hoboken and didn’t want to spend too much but also have the choice of having a delightful meal.
And Crêpe Guru delivered! We each ordered a good mix of savory and sweet crepes — the owner was creating the crepes at the time and was very helpful through the whole process as this was our first experience. I got the Dynamite which was essentially a chicken platter with red sauce in a crêpe and it was delightful. My friends got bourbon steak, tiramisu, Apple, and Nutella crepes. They’re all quite good and they’ve got it down quite well here. I can’t wait to return once I’m back in the area because I love a good crêpe!
One suggestion that the French in me has been seeking back in the good ol’ US is that savory crepes in France are made with buckwheat crepes (different batter) but they still hit it on the nail and awake a good crêpe: D

Ok. So I’ve had three more visits back here and gotten to know the owner and I have to say, the place, the people and the crepes are fantastic. Unfortunately, I’m a creature of habit and I keep going back to the Dyn-​O-​mite which has a spicy sauce that is just wonderful.
I wish they had more seating inside but I’m willing to take their creations back to my hotel a few blocks away.

I came from Queens after reading the Unilocal reviews, expecting to be blown away. I wasn’t. It wasn’t horrible, but it was just barely ok. I ordered the pesto chicken… and it was pretty bland. Maybe the dessert crepes are better. I may never know, I’m not in any hurry to return. I don’t mind traveling for good food, but this definitely wasn’t worth it.

Birthday lunch treat for my wife. We came to share a dessert crêpe but ended up having lunch as well. I had the steak fiesta and she had the chicken caesar. Both were very good but the Nutella, banana and peanut butter dessert crêpe was what my wife had her mind set on and she loved it!
Plethora of choices — breakfast, lunch and dinner. The crepes are inventive and the service is very good. Nice guys behind the counter who’ll take time to explain their crêpe creations and work with your preferences.
