Went to this location on a late Saturday. Chik fila is simple food really but rather addicting and sometimes I’m jonesing for a fix. I’ve had better chik fila before. Maybe it’s coz I went before they were about to close, half a hour. Will have to try this place again when it’s prime dinner time.

Chicken is great here but don’t order the soup b/c it comes lukewarm. They must not have a microwave at this location cause even after I asked them to reheat it was still not hot but it tasted real good.

I’ve been here multiple times on a Saturday afternoon and the line has not been long. The cashiers are efficient and pleasant. The chicken deluxe sandwich and the nuggets are very, very good. It’s definitely one of the best chicken sandwiches from any fast food joint. The chicken is cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The waffle fries are an added bonus to a great tasting sandwich. I have loved this place for years of visiting the South.

I mean chic-fil-a is chic-fil-a but I rather eat at their location that’s not at a food court! I found that they were more friendly and had some sort of hospitality at the Woodbridge saint George crossing… the size of the food seems to be smaller at Newport also lol, it might just be me!

Service is up to par you get your food in a timely fashion. I can’t get enough of Chick-fil-A. I’ve never tasted a chicken sandwich as juicy as one from Chick-fil-A. The waffle fries are to die for.

I felt the racism running through my blood after eating one of these chicken sandwiches.

After a long wait, Chick-fil-A finally arrives in Jersey City. Chick-fil-A first caught my attention through the relatively recent opening in midtown NY. After reading the glorious reviews — all the more surprising considering its a fast food restaurant — I knew I had to come here asap. My initial observation upon receiving my order was that somehow, the spicy chicken sandwich actually looked exactly how it looked on television commercials. This was definitely a first for me, and unsurprisingly the taste also separated itself from the BK and McDonald’s of the world. The accompanying fries were a slight letdown, but perhaps I merely caught them on an off day. All in all, I will surely be back to try different items off the menu as well as the numerous sauces they offer.

This is the first time I’ve lived near a Chick-fil-A but it won’t be the last. I’m now basing future moves on how close they are to this juicy, crispy, juicy chain. All of the sandwiches are great, especially the spicy one, as are the nuggets. The side salad and kale salad are satisfying sides. And when I want to indulge, I go for the deliciously crisp and chewy waffle fries. The diet lemonade has actual pulp in it. And free refills? Mental. Instead of boycotting this chicken for their CEO’s views on marriage, do what I do and try to create change from the inside. When they ask me for my side, I always say«I’m on the side of marriage equality.» I’m lying, I’ve never done that, and I doubt the cashier would get the political point anyway.

Very good for a fast food chain. The chicken sandwiches are juicy and tasty, and the waffle fries are salted perfectly. Don’t be intimidated by the long lines this place can have, they move very fast.

The food is better comparing to other restaurants with the same price. But if you come at a rush hour, you are gonna need to be in a long line.

The Newport CFA is solid. The employees are polite and helpful as they are at all CFA locations. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was they do not have breakfast items yet, since the store recently opened. I am hoping they get breakfast soon!

It was my first time having Chick-fil-A. I admit that the spicy chicken was pretty tender but it didn’t really wow me. However, for a fast food place, I would say it was not bad at all.

Spicy chicken deluxe sandwich and waffle fries are to die for. For under $ 8 it’s a deal you really can’t beat. So glad they finally opened one in Jersey City, and the lines are certainly not as long as the ones in midtown.

I LOVE Chick Fil A!!! #2 and #4 are the best! Actually everything on the menu! Try the CFA sauce you’ll become addicted. I highly recommend this place for lunch or anytime, you’ll keep coming and coming here!

Having grown up in the South, I’m no stranger to Chick-fil-A and was very happy to see a franchise open in Jersey City. As another reviewer noted, this location is much easier to get in and out of compared to the NYC restaurant. Also, the prices in Jersey City are lower. The food is great and the staff are friendly. The service is good too, doesn’t take too long to retrieve your order unless you’ve purchased a shake. Easily among the better dining choices in the food court at Newport Mall.

Every single person that I talked with love this place and I always am wondering where that rave comes from — so decided to give a try at Chik-Fil-A. Another reason I’m trying is because the place at newport mall was empty; unlike its NYC sister, which was always so crowded! Opted for the Cobb salad with chicken filet, since they don’t carry Asian salad. Their chicken meat was indeed tender and was the best I’ve ever experienced at a fast food chain. Already cannot wait for their regular burger!

It’s so exciting that Chick-fil-A is finally in our area! I first fell in love with it’s Midwest & Southern locations many years ago and because of that it has always been one of the few fast food chains that I make it a point to go to when I travel. Well now JC has it’s own! The Spicy Chicken sandwich(deluxe– topped with pepper jack, lettuce & tomato) is my favorite item to get! Although I must say that on my first visit here, it either wasn’t spicy enough or they gave me their regular chicken accidentally. Get the combo for their yummy semi-soft/semi-crispy waffle fries and a drink. They were so kind as to make me an Arnold Palmer(half lemonade/half iced tea– sweetened or not) upon request and it’s the perfect southern thirst quencher! I also love their nuggets and grilled chicken! Looking forward to going back and trying their salads. Friendly staff was working hard to put out ropes and extend the organization of line of folks clamoring to get their fil on!

I had never been to Chick-Fil-A and this was a great experience! We had friendly service, thought the prices and quality were better than their competitors. Will go again when we’re in the mall.

Great chicken sandwiches/nuggets, waffle fries, and lemonade. And friendly service! Chik-fil-a is a welcome addition to the Newport mall and neighborhood. You’ll probably spend around $ 10 on lunch if you get a combo meal and as you might imagine the menu revolves around different chicken sandwiches(Spicy, grilled, fried), nuggets, and salads. Waffle fries are a must with any meal and I particularly enjoyed the spicy chicken sandwich which brings a heavy amount of heat. Would recommend, good for a quick meal at a reasonable price.

Terrific addition to the Newport Mall Dining Pavilion. Don’t be scared off by long line as it moves quickly. Otherwise standard Chick Fil A.

Love this company. The food is good(standard Chick Fil A fare(i.e., exceptional chicken nuggets, strips, etc. made with real chicken breast instead of a mish mash of processed chicken)), but the service is what makes Chick Fil A stand out for me. Employees are always so friendly and accommodating(I hope this means they are treated well by the company!). For this location they did a good job of advertising by giving out free hot chicken sandwiches outside of the light rail station. Don’t miss the waffle fries!

I know a lot of people love this place, stopped by for a chat with the cow, and the registers humming, staff learning and running around. Ordered a #2. Given a #4. My friend ordered a #1, got… not sure, but it was grilled, not fried. Ah, well. Chicken was still good, and waffle fries were good. Just not what I ordered. Ah, well. Also somehow ended up with an extra side of fries and a diet coke when I ordered a Dr. Pepper. Hm. Cheese side with the fries is highly recommended. The Polynesian sauce … not so crazy. BBQ was good and standard. Honey BBQ — a little too sweet for my taste, more honey than BBQ. And the chicken noodle soup — a good touch for a cold day. Fresh shredded chicken and a good mix of veggies but not as much for a large serving as I would like. Still, just as good as when I tried it in the past. Overall, good food and a nice change of pace from McD’s or Burger King chicken, but they need to work on getting my order right the next time.

In reviewing fast food, the comparisons should be too fast food. The meal I had at Chick-fil-A cost less than 8 dollars… but I have to say it was pretty good. The spicy chicken sandwich is the best I have had in fast food — it over takes my long standing favorite from Wendy’s. The bun is very soft and the lettuce and tomato fresh tasting — hopefully they keep it up beyond the grand opening grade period. The chicken breast was actually spicy and crisp and meaty. This Chick-fil-A just opened. They are rare here on the east coast whole popular in the south. The line felt shake shack-esque and there was an army of staff handing out menus and helping move the line along. In one odd step, my order was take while I was in line and then written on a piece of paper and handed to me. I then gave this to the cashier. I suppose it saved 10 seconds of me figuring out what I wanted and ordering but in most cases you order from somebody when you are in line so that your order is proactively entered… but anyway. The service was overall friendly and when your order is ready a nice man in a tie handed me my food — calling out my name. I will come back and try their shakes, regular sandwich and nuggets or tenders. Yay. Some cons… the waffle fries weren’t that crisp and the lemonade was very sweet. Some general facts — they aren’t opened on Sunday’s, they use whole breast chicken but it’s not free range. Oh… there was also a cow with a sign saying eat more Chikin as part of the opening. The company is privately owned, worth over 4.5 bn and has been rated the best fast food restaurant in the US. It is based in Atlanta. A few years back there was controversy around comments made by the COO against gay marriage. Boycotts ensued but because of conservative media support and Mike Huckabee amongst others, support was drummed up and sales actually increased. Well that last part sucks…

I was extremely excited to attend the grand opening of Chick-Fil-A at Newport Mall — the line was so long during lunch. I stopped by for lunch yesterday and saw the sign on the counter stating, «GRANDOPENINGWED. NOV. 11th. I thought to myself, I will be back tomorrow! Three things — 1. I was particularly impressed at how the Chick-fil-A Corporate team and new franchise owner handled the crowd. The employees were walking and interacting with customers to take their orders(wrote the orders on a piece of paper — old fashioned way works too) to expedite the process. Talk about efficient operation management! 2. The Grand Opening team actually flew in from the Corporate office in Atlanta to prepare three weeks before grand opening day(which is today). Talk about ensuring a successful launch! 3. The CFA burger, waffle fries and chocolate chip cookies were so tasty! Waffle fries were not too oily or deeply fried. I rarely eat lunch at the mall during a work day but I was curious about the level of interactions the employees had with the customers. The CFA Corporate team sat at a nearby table — I think they too were making observations on the operations. Furthermore, I came back after work to grab dinner to go! This is my designated lunch spot for the next few weeks! :)
