I can’t believe there are negative reviews on here about the Coffee Beanery. The Coffee Beanery at the Hudson Mall has by far the best coffee and service that I have ever been to in all of my travels. The family that owns the store is extremely nice and also serves with a smile. I have seen first hand numerous times where customers were rude and ignorant to the owners and despite that fact, the owners continues to serve them and serve with a smile. To the comments about the temperature, if you want your drink extra hot, you should say extra hot but then know that if you burn yourself, don’t go crying about it and attempt to sue over it. Clearly, these other reviewers, don’t know the many lawsuits that occurred over people suing for being burned with hot coffee. There are guidelines on the temperature of drinks for precisely that reason. Regarding the prices, you can’t compare gourmet coffee, expresso and premium ingredients with Dunkin Donuts on Route 440. You get what you pay for. If you can’t afford a nice cup of coffee, then go stick with the standard Dunkin Donuts. The Coffee Beanery’s prices should be compared to Starbucks or Oren’s or any of the other high end coffee shops. To that end, Coffee Beanery’s prices are far less than those other establishments. If you want quality coffee, kind service and all at an affordable price and conveniently located, you should visit the Coffee Beanery.

First of all this place is very expensive. Like Starbucks expensive. The only reason I purchased drinks from here was because I had a Groupon. The Groupon is $ 5 for $ 10 worth of drinks. I got a caramel frappé and it really did taste good. So I purchased a frappé($ 4.95) and a latte($ 4.35), which should have a total of $ 9.30(let’s make it $ 10 with tax). I don’t understand how but the total was $ 10.75($ 1.45 in tax in Jersey City?!) This happened several times; I was always confused about the total. I never got a receipt either. I guess I didn’t bother because I had a Groupon and was already getting a pretty good deal. But without a Groupon I would not purchase anything from here.

I rarely even come to 440-Hudson Mall, I’m talking twice a year rare. So today my mom and I decided to walk on over to Big Lots, I decided against my better judgement to not stop at the DD on our way. But still desired a chai latte. So I remembered there’s a coffe/tea stand inside Hudson mall and came inside for this sole purpose. Big mistake. Ordered a tall, chai latte, hot. For the whopping $ 3.89 it was indeed hot but that was it. It was a milky sugary powdery disaster!!! Never again Save yourself the disappointment and go to the DD if you must have ANYTHING coffee or tea like in the area.

This place is a joke. I’ve lived close by this mall for many years, but I have never purchased coffee from here. I’ve heard from many people that it’s quite pricey and the staff there are not so nice. Yesterday, I was running late for class and was extremely tired, I needed something to relax me and keep me up. I decided to go for the vanilla chai. Some moron was behind the counter, I ordered the smallest size of vanilla chai and it was was about $ 3.80! I swear I wouldn’t mind if the coffee was ACTUALLY good. Sadly, it was NOT. When he handed me my cup, I took a sip and it wasn’t even piping hot. It was between warm, and hot. But not hot. So he gave me my change and I look at him and say«Excuse me sir, my drink isn’t hot» He looked at me as if I were stupid and took the kettle and read the ‘thermometer’ attached to it and said with a weird accent«It’s about 150 – 160 degrees, that’s hot to me» I said well it’s not hot at all, it’s warm and coffee should be hot. I just walked away and I felt so jipped off. It tasted like something powdery with water. It was not good at all, and I will never purchase anything from here. I should have took the advice given to me by others to not even go here. What a disappointment.
