Johnny Rockets

The service was terrible the young wait staff were young and unprofessional. They stood around talking and our order came out wrong. Even drinks … They showed blatant disrespect for management as we witnessed a waitress throw a rag and trash at the manager. While sitting here we also witnessed employees get into a fight over who’s responsibility it was to do what. Will not be going back.

There is something clearly wrong with the Service staff. After being asked to sit at a preferred seat in an almost empty restaurant the staff looked unhappy and had a mini meeting at the counter. Then no one showed up for 15 mins (only 2 tables were occupied). We left without ordering. Terrible attitude which I think showed up with the level of occupancy.

Came here tonight before seeing a movie at the Newport Mall and I have to say that the food and service was well below what I expected.
Staff was friendly in their greeting and took our order quickly. Unfortunately, our fries and onion rings were brought out 15 minutes after our order was taken and our burger & sandwich was brought out 15 minutes after that. 30 minutes for a burger and a sandwich when the place is empty sans 3 other tables?!?
Fries and onion rings were not hot, a very measly portion, and we found it really annoying that they were not brought out with our burgers. We had no fries or onion rings to eat with our burger since our food took so long.
The Houston burger meat did not taste fresh and for the cost and length of time it took to make the burger I expected it to taste better than McDonalds. The grilled chicken bacon BBQ in sandwich on sourdough had way too much BBQ (it was sweet. yuck!) and the grilled chicken also tasted previously frozen. The bread was the best part.
The strawberry shake was also not thick and quite runny. I like my shake thick. They also did not ask if we wanted whip cream on top and automatically added it.
No water was brought to our table either.
To top it off we came with a Groupon, which we showed upon being seated. The waitress took it to her manager and he approved it. Upon receiving our check we had to wait almost 20 minutes as the manager was not to be found.
Not cool to leave a customer waiting so long. They need to step up their game because there are a lot of options on places to eat at Newport Mall.

What a rip off!!! I paid $ 40 for a tiny bit of fries and tiny burgers. Also a steak sandwich with meat spread on it like I can’t believe this is minced steak. Horrible experience! Miss my hard earned money. Next time I’m better off ordering off the dollar menu at Wendy’s.

We were seated and ignored for 5 – 10 minutes. Apparently the youth of jersey city who choose to work at night don’t want to be bothered worth customers. Steer clear. You’d get better service from the burgerking or taco bell in the mall.

Took forever just to get a seat ! After we sat the service was rather quickly. My burger was really delicious, I had the spicy Houston burger. It was so spicy and yummy. The fries were okay, a bit oily and didn’t have taste. I added salt and pepper and it helped with the taste. Lastly my Oreo shake, it was decent, I’ve had better. Our waiter was really friendly and nice so that’s always a plus.

well my first time at a Johnny rockets and sadly I might not go back, first I asked for a water and my friend got a soda, and right away when he came back he gave us each others drinks instead, how can u screw that up out of three people two order drinks and you give the opposite drinks to us wow, second the milk shakes are good but a little small for the amount you pay, they should get taller glasses, the burger I had was ok and my friend says the same, they don’t season anything, including the cheese fries, even though they were good, they could have been amazing, they should get introduced to salt, pepper, and garlic power, all and all … eh not worth coming to

Great food horrible service. Came here and they had a promotion called unlimited fries now when we were seated we told the waiter what we wanted me and my friend but the waiter told us oh your one of those who comes and eats all the fries and doesn’t want to leave. Well yes we are cause we’re paying money for this so why not take advantage? So after we got our food to order a second round of fries took 30 mins cause our waiter is no where to be seen and this wasn’t a busy day now when he comes back he said he’ll put the order in which takes another 15 mins overall from him coming back and going back and forth doing nothing we wasted 3 hours here for only 3 sets of fries and waiting for our check. This place isn’t something I would recommend to people I would say go to the one in Ny 3^rd Ave cause this one has a lot of people who just don’t want to work. It’s only good food wise but overall it’s nothing special.

Two stars actually. I feel like it deserves more than one star. Two is fine.

The service was fast and I made a build your own burger it was fast and delicious we also ordered the bacon cheese fries which had real melted cheese sauce. Delicious and quick.

In my life I have never experienced anything quite like this. They were out of half the menu

I ordered an egg white omelette A fried egg white filled with onions in grease arrived

Came for Iunch break took forever just for cheese fries! (People ordered sandwiches and got that before my small order) got back to my desk opened up and the portion of fries is beyond me … Never again with the fries. They weren’t even all the way done! Thanks *first time coming and was a bad experience*

Kind, attentive waitstaff. The food is pretty standard fast food, maybe one step up from McDonalds. A bit overpriced though. Always wanted to try this place so I stopped in, but not sure I’d want to eat the fare again…

Not as bad as I expected. The burger was nice and juicy. Fries were crispy. The kids’ hot dog meals were made with pretty decent hot dogs.
So why only 3 stars? I didn’t really care for the gimmicky stuff… smiley face ketchup, song and dance. I felt bad for the people working here. Also service could have been a little quicker.
I only ate here because my son wanted to. I don’t know why any self-​respecting adult would come here to eat if they didn’t have a kid. There are better places to eat in the food court.

Extremely slow, even at the to go counter. Took forever to get my milk shake. It’s just a damn shake!
Very disorganized and the crowd of people that were all waiting for over 20 mins agreed. I’ve been to other Johnny Rockets locations that had their stuff together… sadly this one was not one of them.

I received a paper thin chipotle sandwich when it was supposed to be like the picture or at least like the one served at the Johnny rockets in Elizabeth mall which is corporate and is delicious
Vanessa the manager was snotty about it and didn’t care she stated that they are not corporate and that is what you get I paid the bill and left hungry!!!

Love Johnny Rockets! Stopped by today with friends to take a break from shopping and cure a Halloween night hangover. The bacon cheddar burger is delicious! Also, your meal isn’t complete without a milkshake! Props to our waitress… got our order perfectly without even writing it down. Impressive memory!

Oh Johnny Rockets you’re not at all what I remembered. But then again being located in the heart of the food court I should have huge expectations either.
Cool thing about this location was that they had both a pick up window as well as a sit down area. We came here on a Saturday night so it was crowded and loud. One thing I always appreciate about places like these is feeling like I have stepped into a time machine, everything matched the theme of the restaurant. From the cute jukebox at each table, to the dress of the waiters and waitresses to the awesome music blaring and to follow in theme the large cups and old school straw containers.
I ordered a strawberry milkshake, a #12 burger and side of French fries. And. I was just disappointed. My milkshake was very runny and tasted like strawberry quick. The burger boasted of chili spicy ketchup and fresh lettuce, onion, tomato and cheese. It was all there but smothered in oil. The most prominent taste was the onions and meat.
Ehh for what I paid there are better options out there.

I’ve been to this Johnny Rockets a few times with my boyfriend whenever we’re in Newport and have a cheese fries craving.
I love how the staff is always so friendly and enthusiastic at Johnny Rockets. It makes the dining experience so much more fun. We got seated at the booth since that’s what I wanted. It was fun and interesting to watch how the food and drinks were prepared from our seats.
Our waiter took our orders and our food arrived in minutes. So this is what I ordered:
I’ve never tried any of the shakes from Johnny Rockets before, so this was my first experience. I ordered the Peanut Butter Malt Shake and OH MY GOD, it was like one of the BEST Peanut Butter anything I’ve had. It was nicely blended and just full of peanut butter creamy goodness. The shake was humongous, so I had to take it to go after we finished our lunch.
I had the Original Burger which consisted of fresh shredded iceburg lettuce, tomato, chopped onions, relish, pickle, mustard & mayonnaise. I couldn’t really taste the mustard at all. I don’t like mustard, but they sure masked the mustard away well. The burger was juicy, but it lacked seasoning especially in the beef patty. A little salt and pepper would have made a difference.
My boyfriend ordered the Houston Burger which has a touch of spiciness to it. I didn’t try it since I’m sensitive to a certain level of spice. Any ways, this flaming hot burger consisted of Jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, iceburg letttuce, fresh tomato & and Johnny Rocket’s spicy sauce.
We also ordered the Half Cheese Fries/​Half Onion Rings for our sides. I love Johnny Rocket’s cheese fries because they always do it right with the cheese besides Nathan’s. The cheese is melted to the perfect consistency.
Altogether, the experience at Johnny Rockets was great. I felt welcomed and happy with the service and food.

Food — This place probably has the best burger of all the Johnny Rockets that I had tried so far. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Hope they will keep it up.
Ambiance — We were seated by the staff station with a beached rag behind us, which wasn’t appetizing. I would give another star, if not for this rag.
Service — Staffs were very friendly and helpful.
