Best fried chicken I had in the tri state area been to a lot of different places and none of them compare the fried chicken was fresh & hot and the service was outstanding well be back again next time I’m visiting the jersey city area 5 stars all the way !!!

The best fried chicken in the area (maybe tied with Crown) and always good. Things to keep in mind, especially if you are not used to places like this:
1. The food is always fresh because people keep coming
2. This place has very different people when its light out compared to when its dark out. Don’t freak out if you see yelling/​fighting and homeless people at 2 am
3. CASH ONLY. Very cheap still though
4. The guys that work there are always extra nice! And they are damn busy so be extra nice back
5. They close around lunch time for prayer on Fridays (they are Muslim). Same goes to the other local chicken spots

Love this place.
1) The restaurant is open late night. And I will recommend coming here late night.
2) The food is cheap. We got the value pack, which was 9 pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw for only 12.50 USD.
3) The beef patties are also good.
4) Cash Only!

I have been missing it for so long. I mean the awesome food from KFC. I came to this place so happy that i finally made my way here from so many months without KFC. Unfortunately chicken was not that fresh and tasty as i expected it to be, but it was ok anyways.

I don’t know if a person has earned their North Jersey cred unless they’ve been to a KFC, whether this one or another in the area. I’ve been to several different franchises, and I think this one is the best by far.
I’m not going to say I’m an authority on fried chicken, but I know when it’s good and when it sucks. And this does not suck. As some of the others have mentioned, there is a very high turnaround so the chicken is fresh. What isn’t sitting is made to order. You can see the guys hacking up chicken pieces in the back, prepping it for your sheer enjoyment (and enjoy it, you will). The skin is crisp and it’s not greasy. Whether you get white or dark meat, it will be juicy and well-​seasoned.
The fries are fresh and crispy, similar to BK fries with the light batter, but less oily.
The menu is super extensive and cheap. You can theoretically walk out with a chicken box, cheeseburger, and several sides for less than $ 20. Most combos also come with a can of soda, and they have all kinds.
The fish is the only thing I’m not in love with here, but it will get the job done if you want inexpensive fried seafood and gloppy tartar sauce.
The guys who work here are always super nice and the service is quick, even at their busiest.
Too often, places like this get a bad rep due to their locales and no-​frills décor. Well, I hope the rep keeps people away, because you know what? It’s damn good eats, regardless of when you go. I live a few blocks from JSQ and it’s really not as shady as people might lead you to believe. And when you’re stumbling into a place — ANY place — at 3 am, you’ll probably see your fair share of characters.
As far as the ambiance, you don’t need freaking ambiance to get some of the best fried chicken in the area. I’ve been here at 3 pm and 3 am, drunk and sober, and it is great every time.

Stopped here on my way to work last night. Kennedy’s has saved me from hunger many late nights. It’s open til 4am and I like their chicken way more then kentucky fried chicken. It’s not as breaded, more like fried chicken you’d get at home. Cheap as hell too, with an extremely extensive menu. Burgers, fish sandwiches, shrimp, wings, chicken tenders, beef patties, and other things i can’t even begin to remember right now. Come here for good, cheap food

The food here is amazing ! There isn’t one thing on the menu not to my liking but my favorite is the italian cheeseburger! Just thinking about this place makes my mouth water !

They have always been good to me !!! We even used to arm wrestle the cook for free piece of chicken, but always lost. Guy was strong !! Good chicken decent prices. Try their pizza roll for $ 1 it’s heaven from a deep fryer!

Hate to admit it but I really like this place! When I am in the mood for fried chicken, this is what hits the spot. I especially love their hot wings. They make it right there on the spot when you order and it’s always hot and fresh. It’s not too spicy and just right: 20 piece is only $ 13 with fries!
Inside is pretty dingy, so I always do take out. Downside is it’s cash only.

Come here for the chicken. Don’t bother to compare with KFC. It’s in a whole other league.
Yes, its ghets.
Yes, it’s across the street from the DMV.
Yes, it’s hard to get parking on the street because it’s near the DMV, train station and Hudson County Community College.
But their fried chicken is SOOOOOOO GOOOOOD. It’s under $ 10 for 10 pieces, its not precooked, they make it in small batches and the turnaround is ridiculous so it is always fresh. Their fries are good too but I can rarely justify indulging in both the chicken and fries. Also, I don’t know if I would trust their other sides, like macaroni salad. But pair their chicken up with some plain white rice from a local Chinese place and some hot sauce and you and 2 – 3 friends just bought yourselves a little piece of greasy heaven for under $ 15. Leaves just enough money for a six-​pack. Yes, its for that kinda day.

If you grew up in the New York Metro area ghetto, love cheap fried chicken, beef patties or chessesteak and eat halal, then you’ve probably been to a Kennedy’s Fried Chicken near you. This place hits the fried chicken spot during, lunch, dinner, and late night munching. Most of the food is kept under a heat lamp, but it doesn’t usually taste that way. It must be the high turnover. The fried chicken is nice and crispy, seasoned with a good amount of salt and pepper. The fries are of the thin variety, and are crisp. Beef patties here at generously sized and aren’t far off from the ones you get at Jamaican spots like Golden Krust. The cheesesteak at this particular location is very good. Nice soft bread, very cheesy and of course very greasy. Sides are good as well. Mashed potato is always hot, banana pudding is good dessert, and the thick milk shakes help you on your way to a coronary bypass.

the selections are many here folks, and if you have midnight munchies, it’s open!
great beef patties here, very fresh, oh and yes, so is the chicken of course, PLUS the ice cream is good.
prices are reasonable, but parking is a pain.
