I really like Mithaas when we want to have a lot of street food kind of dishes. We love their samosa bun, vada pao, bombay sandwich, mithaas special sandwich, chole bhature. I was not really happy with their gujarati thali that I tried recently. The taste was good, however it was not authentic. They also have an amazing sweets/desserts collection. Its always fresh.

Mithas is Indian fast food. You order at the counter, they give you a number and after a bit someone comes and serves you good and also clean up after you. This is a no frills attached completely vegetarian restaurant. Another unique feature about Mithas is that it’s an Indian dessert /sweet store. So you also pick up some yummy Indian desserts while you eat. I haven’t tried too many things, just the regular boxes during Diwali and it’s always nice. I don’t think it’s made fresh on location but it’s not bad. They offer almost all Indian food, Gujarati, Punjabi, maharatrian and South Indian so there is a lot to choose from. My favorites that I have tried so far are Makki roti(corn) and sarson ka saag(mustard leaf), dhoklas, chole batura, bhel puri and malpoa rabri. There are loads of things I haven’t tried yet. The service has always been very pleasant every time I have been there and they also deliver almost everywhere in jersey city. All good.

This is the best Indian food around the Newark Avenue area. I would recommend Saag and Roti, its delicious. The chaats are all good, too. We also tried fhe medu vada — sambhar, that was also good. The food was to very good, the place gets a little crowded.

This is the first time I came here, and would be the last. I had the worst customer service and the food was cold. We ordered mirchi bajji and it was very cold and the hard on the outside that we couldn’t eat. We told the guy who is working there to, get us the ones which are warm as this is cold, but its no use. They got us the cold food. When I went to pay my bill, we gave a comment at the tip saying«The food was cold and not good» hence, no tip. When we were leaving the so called cashier was laughing loud that we couldn’t pay tip. Okay woman, I am not satisfied with the customer service I got from you and I dont want to tip you(This is for the manager, please let the woman know why customers give tip). To all you readers choose a better place to eat.

Plain and simple — most of their sweets are simply stale. Pick the wrong one and its like throwing your money and the sweets in the trash.

The food is very good although a bit pricy compared to other Indian places around. Mango lassi is thick and delicious. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because of the service. It’s very bad. You have to ask servers for everything(cups, water, plates, utensils. And it happens every time we go there.)

Good selection of sweets. We tried the rasmalai and ladoo and both were great. Vada pao was good.

Went on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. I dropped this place down a little bit because of today’s meal. The main issue being that we ordered an aloo chaat, they forgot it, I went up to cancel it and then they said that it was ready and they just couldn’t find out number. It came out and was terrible and clearly put together quickly because they forgot. It had no flavor and the aloo was really cold almost icy. Bleh. I also ordered masala fries. Pass on these. They are curly fries with mayonnaise. If you like curly fries — you will like these. I like curly fries… but curly fries are NOT masala fries… or maybe they are and I just never knew. I also ordered a paneer kathi roll which was very good but super messy. The idly was good and the special thali was good and they allowed poori instead of roti. Not a total miss but the aloo chaat miss was an issue. The service here is also un-inspired and flat.

I love this place. Have been here dozen times and everytime I come back happy and satisfied. First, they offer lot of variety — From Chaats to Thalis and desserts, they have it all. A vegeterian’s delight. Their dosas and noodles are pretty good. Tried Sarson ka saag recently and it tastes delicious. Most of the time you will not go wrong with things on their menu. However, we recently tried the Rasmalai here and it was a disappointment. No taste, very sad texture and just not worth it. But definitely worth a visit.

Its always a pleasure to come here ofcourse coz food is awesome but what i like more is their welcoming serving and open to feedback attitude. They would try their best to get the customer the taste they are looking for. Yes they will get you your order twice if you didnt like the spice level the first time or whatsoever your request was! Best in whole jersey city for their awesome customer service. My favorite for sure!

Mithaas literally means sweet. Their sweet dishes are decent. Nothing that I have personally liked. I come here more often for food. The chaat items are average but there are certain items that they do well. Cholle bhatura is good. Veg sheek kabab is good. Pav bhaji is good. Samosa was decent. Gujarati thali and special thali are good. Paneer Khati roll is too oily for my taste. Raj kachori was okay.

Very bad service! On such a hot day thr A/C is not working neither they have cold water or ice. And if you want to freshen up before eating. oh! There restroom is out of service. We ordered food, aps chilly potatoes and main chole bhatute, malai kofta, dal and naan. 30 min later they came up with just appetizer. Another 20min for main dish. When asked mgmt about delay they replied very rudely with you gotta wait. Will not come back to this plc again. No complaints on food but horrible service.

We went for some Desi Food. It was delicious food. Paani puri, veg. Mancuriyan & chole bhature awesome. I cut one point due to some congested place & restroom was not clean. Otherwise food is awesome.

Extremely mis– managed restaurant. 5 stars for the food, but the mode of serving is just wrong. Entrée comes before the starter. Why? Because it’s based on a ‘serve as ready’ mode. I waited for 45 mins for an order, then eventually had to leave because they just didn’t bring the food. Suggestion: Do a take away! Do not eat in the restaurant.

I went to the Edison branch of Mithaas and was impressed. When I found out that there was a branch in jersey city I was thrilled. Oh what a let down! Every single thing I got from here was old and bad. I got jalebi– horrible, ras malai– it had gone bad, mithaai– I tried it the next day and it was already bad. How is it okay to sell food that has gone bad? My recommendation would be to stay far far away…
