There are so. many. sandwiches to choose from. SOMANY. I ordered on Seamless($ 1.50 fee) one lazy Saturday morning, turned into afternoon. I hadn’t eaten all day so I wanted to order everything. For two people, we had the Philly cheesesteak, grilled chicken cobb salad, western omelette, and a turkey sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. The philly was great. Of course, not really an authentic philly but if you have a craving for it, it will do the trick. The salad was really fresh. The lettuce was crispy and you could tell that it wasn’t a salad that they just spilled out of a bag from two days ago. The only thing missing from it was the hard boiled egg. The omelette was a little overcooked so I probably wouldn’t order it again. But that’s what I get for ordering an omelette from a sandwich place, I guess. As for the bagel, it was pretty standard. I ordered whole wheat but it wasn’t whole wheat. Not the end of the world though. I’d deffo order again. Or better yet, I think I’ll sit in next time and try some of their signature sammies, made fresh.

Review is based on their catering service. We order from here about once a month for lunches for the office for about 75 people — everything is always delivered EARLY, nicely packaged with labels for each sandwich, and includes plates, napkins and all utensils needed! All of their sandwiches are delicious and we have never had a bad experience. Jim(owner) is so helpful and always tries to work with us. This is a great place!!!

Stopped in here on my way home from work for a quick dinner. If you are looking for a LITTLE Sandwich — this is the place to be. Not worth the money, at all. And the salads were bland, no flavor, and small serving size. That was my first and last time there.

This place serves the best fries so far in Jersey City. The fries are double cooked so when it comes out all hot from the fryer it is unbelievably crispy. You won’t find a single soggy one in the bunch. If nothing on the menu appeases you, I’d recommend you just come and get a side order of fries. They give you a generous portion with the take out container filled to the brim. I always come here when I have a hamburger and fries craving and the burgers do not disappoint either. Their chefs cook it right on the spot to your liking(medium-rare, medium, well-done, etc.) and the bun they use is nice and fluffy. The burgers do take a little while to cook but if you order ahead you can mitigate that or you can always go for a stroll around the neighborhood to prevent your clothes from smelling like the kitchen. Best burger and fries place in town and all for less than $ 10, making it another addition to my list of best lunch spots in Jersey City.

Staff is never friendly, breakfast ends at 11 and 2 out of 3 times I come here I walk out before I get to order — and not because they are busy. They just take their time and never offer to help patrons waiting. Bagels are sad.

I need to stop looking just at the overall star rating when choosing a place to dine! I have missed out on this establishment for the last 3 months due to the reviews. I just grabbed lunch at The Little Sandwich Shop and it was fantastic. I ordered the Chicken Basil with breaded chicken cutlet, no dressing, no tomatoes. The sandwich was great. Bread was not too hard and not too soft, just the right consistency to hold up the fillings. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the rest of the ingredients were fresh. I also had an order of fries which were delicious and crispy. Maybe it was the time I went but the staff was courteous and friendly throughout my experience. I can’t wait to go back and try some more of the items.

I have order breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is average. For lunch I have ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad completely tasteless definitely do not recommend. I do recommend their burgers very tasty and their Philly cheesesteaks which are pretty decent. So my food rating is a 3 out of 5. However, I am very big on how staff treats their customers and I am not too crazy about their customer service. The cashier girl always seems to have an attitude. So my customer service rating is a 1 out of 5.
I’ve only done breakfast and not lunch, and from the looks of the menu/reviews this should be the other way around. It seems as if lunch time cold cut sandwiches are the way to go here, and if I’m feelin’ a breakfast saaangwich then a bagel spot is the way to go. When I order a egg and cheese sandwich I want a really crispy and greasy fried egg. The egg sandwich had a really thick and fluffy omelette type of egg which didn’t mesh all that well with the roll. I guess this is really just a matter of preference. I didn’t have meat on my sandwich but my boyfriend had taylor ham which looked delish. He felt the same way about the egg and actually removed it and turned his sandwich into a ham and cheese combo. It’s a quick fix if you want a fast breakfast or lunch, but I’m still on the hunt for a hangover curing breakfast sandwich in the area. I’m pumped to try a lunch time panini or wrap and I’ll be back for that ASAP.

I’ve ordered here several times and have always loved their sandwiches. Delivery is usually on time and their food always feels fresh. Haven’t explored too much but the go to for me is the chicken pesto sandwich and the cheesesteak with fries. Can’t go wrong with either. Had the Ruben once but the bread was on rye and if delivered the bread can be a bit soft. It was still delicious tho! Overall, I would and will continue to order from here! UPDATE: I had to throw a little update, only cause this place has been a model of consistency. I ordered the burger and it was so good I ordered it the next day again. I’ve never been disappointed and delivery comes always ahead of schedule. The burger isn’t the most amazing I’ve had in my life but definitely really good. Perfect wholesome burger that doesn’t make me feel nasty after but still full. I mainly wanted to throw an update because it’s unusual for me to find a place that delivers greatness consistently.

This is your average sandwich shop. If you are looking for a sandwich near grove street, this is where you go! It’s nothing special, but I will always go to them cause the price is right and there’s not many other choices for sandwiches this close to grove st. So anyway, skip the subways and support the local businesses. Check this place out.

I’m surprised the ratings aren’t higher. This little sandwich shop(also in the literal sense) is conveniently located right outside the grove path station making it a perfect place to pick up grub on the way home. The guys and gal that work here are always friendly, and make pleasant conversations. My favorite is the banker’s Reuben(grilled corn beef with sauerkraut) and rice pudding(pre-made and stored in their drink fridge which you can get yourself). For hot sandwiches, do expect to wait a few minutes but the quality is solid every time.

Extremely average food. To the point where you look at the sandwich and think, man I need to be less lazy and cut some lettuce and tomato. I know it’s a deli and I know it’s not supposed to fancy, but I don’t know, whether it’s for a breakfast sandwich or lunch sandwich every time I go I think, man I could’ve made that, probably better. If you’re in a quick pinch and need something like Au Bön Pain, it is at least reasonably priced. Otherwise, go somewhere else.

Came here on a whim during dinner time and ordered what I thought was a classic that couldn’t go wrong — prosciutto and mozzarella on a baguette. For some reason, either the prosciutto or the basil sauce on it, the flavor was way too salty. Also, the prosciutto was stringy and had some hard to chew lumps. Wasn’t too pleased with my sandwich at this«sandwich» shop.

Ah-mazing chicken cutlet sandwich. Swap the mayo out for Russian dressing. Simple sandwich, but done right — arrived with warm and juicy chicken, crisp lettuce and tomato, enough dressing — all on a soft Kaiser bun. Chocolate mousse cake was good too, but the sandwich was stellar. Nice work LSS!

I hate how much I like this place. I’ve never been to the restaurant in person, but my sister, brother-in-law get delivery on a weekly basis. Sister’s fav: chicken pesto sandwich. I tried a bite of it and it was pretty darn good. Nothing exciting for me, but it’s also pretty safe. Bro-in-law’s fav: cheese steak sandwich with fries. When I order this, I usually add extra veggies such as peppers and jalepenos. I don’t think I’ve had one this good anywhere in NJ or Manhattan yet. My fav: I don’t have a favorite because I order random sandwiches. I haven’t tried any of their burgers or other things, but I think I will stick to what the shop’s good at– sandwiches. Oh ya, I love their horseradish sauce on the side(you have to request it). I don’t know if it’s house-made or store-bought, but it’s pretty damn good with a HUGE kick!

Had a(pregnant) craving for a BLT and ordered one from here(well, they don’t have BLT on the menu but they made a turkey BLT, sans turkey, for me). Big points for being accomodating, usually I’m a stick-to-the-menu kinda gal. But hunger during pregnancy can be a powerful emotion. The sub roll was prefect, crusty and chewy. The toppings were good quality and porportioned evenly across the sandwich. I love having a perfect bite throughout my sandwich. Delivery was quick. They have a good, diverse menu to appease everyone. I love when a sandwich place/deli offers chips, fries or potato salad. Because I like potatoes and I like choices. Everyone knows a side of potatoes make any sandwich a full meal. Happy to have found this place and look forward to ordering from here again.

Solid choice for all your sandwich needs. Prices are cheap and service is fast. They deliver what you would expect as far as deli variety. Typical selection of sandwich choices, specialties sandwiches, and grill choices. Also have salads. Nothing is spectacular, but they get the job done. Only real knock is that their hero bread could be a bit fresher sometimes. My favorite to order from here is the chicken cheesesteak. Chicken is chopped not shredded which is ok because it’s grilled nicely. Peppers & onions come standard… and of course, cheese. I suggest adding shrooms.

Great hidden spot! My boyfriend and I came here a couple of months ago when we were looking at rentals. We were starving and we Unilocaled the closest thing to the grove st station and this little guy popped up. It’s very small and easy to miss with all the big restaurant signs around. The space is small, but quaint. There’s definitely enough room to seat 10 – 12 people, but I think it’s mostly a take out place. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. The sandwich names were really cute, they had to do with business, like the«Corporate Club» or «Advertising Advantage.» I can’t for the life of me remember what my sandwich was called, but it was absolutely delicious. I love chicken salad and this was done perfectly. The croissant I had was also phenomenal. You can taste the buttery goodness in the croissant. I’m very picky about my croissants, I don’t like them too flaky because they get all over the place. This one was good, no great! One of the best croissants I’ve had. The chicken salad was delicious as well and it had bacon which is an extra bonus. Overall, awesome place and will be back soon!

Yay! I’m a fan. If you’re looking for an advantage when choosing your sandwich, I recommend the Advertising Advantage($ 7 — Mozzarella, tomatoes, roasted peppers, red onions*, basil, and balsamic vinaigrette on French bread). All of the components are quality ingredients and the bread is especially noteworthy. Also worth mentioning was the great service; everyone who was working while I was there was super nice and super interested in me getting my sandwich asap. This place is a little on the small side, so be prepared to smush a little with the other patrons while waiting for your sandwich. *red onions are the long kind they carry, I wish they also had white/yellow onions.
