I’m so sad. This place is now closed. Hopefully another great restaurant will take it’s place. I really loved this place. Food was fabulous and staff was friendly and the free desert was great!!!

I used to love coming to this place because it was cheap, had pretty good phở, and always gave you a free dessert with your meal. But the phở hasn’t been as good lately and just doesn’t taste as good as it used to. It’s sometimes really salty and sometimes really bland and just inconsistent. Not sure about the other items on the menu, but my experience hasn’t been great!

Really does not satisfy my phở cravings. Lacks broth taste and noodles. Spring rolls were not delicious compared to other places and it broke when i was eating it. Servers are friendly, I’ll give them that. From my last visit, I found that their phở and spring rolls are more expensive than eating at «I luv phở». How ridiculous. I think the only reason this place is still getting business from their complimentary dessert.

I have been coming here once a week with my brother for the past 7 years. We get the large 208 phở noodles with 2 extra noodles, every time. It is an explosion of flavor in my mouth. I would suggest it over any other phở restaurant.

This place is amazing. I’ve been a Phở Noodle connoisseur for more than 30 years and this place rocks my socks off every time I come. Whether it’s the 208 or the 206, the noodles are unlike any noodle I’ve ever eaten. Ever.

Had a round here for late lunch, phở tai and spring rolls. As consistent as it gets, piping hot spring rolls and same phở noodles with fresh veggies. Would have been perfect with a bit more mint leaves… Free ice cream and good service continues as well.

If I was able to give this place zero stars I would. I ordered com tam to go and I got 75% vegetables. The rice was undercooked the sunny side up eggs tasted like rubber. They even left out a component of the dish. The egg rolls weren’t even crispy but instead tasted like baby food. Being Viet myself I am critical on Vietnamese restaurant food, but this place is just horrible. Heed my warning and drive further to a Vietnamese restaurant… your taste buds will thank me.

Asian food in Johns Creek just can’t compare with Buford Hwy or Duluth. If you need a quick phở fix and you don’t have the time, or desire, to drive to one of the above locations, this will do. My mom hasn’t been exposed to many Vietnamese restaurants so she is perfectly happy with the phở here. It really depends on your previous experiences, in my opinion. The servers are friendly. You receive a complimentary slice of banana bread topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. I hear they have another dessert option, but I haven’t seen or tried it.

I only go here as a last resort to phở when I don’t want to drive far. The service is good and the phở is just okay. It’s not terrible, but the flavors in the broth are lacking. The fried egg rolls, I wouldn’t recommend. I do like that they offer flan or ice cream at the end of your meal – complimentary! =)

I visited the other location in Duluth years ago and kind of remember not being a fan of this place but I decided to give it another try since there’s a scoutmob deal out for it. This location is near work so I decided to go for lunch with a gf. We came here on a weekday around noon and the place was pretty empty. There was only one other table filled. My gf and I started with the spring rolls for our appetizer. We both weren’t a fan of this. I had the seafood pan fried noodles for my entrée and that was ok, but a little on the salty side. My gf had the pork chop rice dish. I tried some of her dish and found the pork chop and steamed egg to both be super dry. Now I remember why I never went back to this place after trying it years ago!

I thought the food was just ok. Service was friendly though, and business seems to be good based on the # customers. I’m sure it helps to be located in the same shopping center as HMart, and the only phở restaurant in the area(besides Le Mekong). BUNWITHCHICKEN — $ 7.75 I know good testing vs. bad testing bun so I usu. order this when I’m at a restaurant for the first time. New Saigon’s version was just ok and honestly all I remember was there was lots of chicken. Portion was generous — enough for 2 meals. SINGAPORECURRYNOODLE W/TOFU — $ 8.95 Only had a bite but I thought it was salty and just ok — not being a dry noodle fan may have contributed too. I did like the spicy kick though. COMPLIMENTARYDESSERT We got ice cream w/chocolate syrup and banana bread — which was nice except for the stale banana bread :(Ice cream alone would’ve been more than fine. My visit to Johns Creek was driven by the Scoutmob coupon. I live much closer to Doraville which has a plethora of Vietnamese restaurants so I probably won’t come back. However New Saigon is a good affordable option if you live in the area.

We came here when it was empty, but during our meal, the restaurant was filled. In this area there aren’t many Asian restaurants. FOOD: I was undecided on what to get since I used to always get phở noodles, but since it’s warm outside our host suggested a ‘manager’s favorite item’ dish. It was a curry noodle dish with vegetables and tofu. The angel hair pasta gave the dish a light feel when you’re eating it, not a heavy, bloating feel. It was tasteful and plentiful, but next time I’d order it with another dish.

I learned about this place from the Scoutmob app. It is located in the same plaza as Super H Mart; on the end by the Rite Aid. I started with the Cha Giò(spring rolls). My entrèe was Mì Vit Tiem(Braised duck with egg noodles) — it was great! It was a large bowl with broth, noodles, bok choy and shiitake mushrooms. It came with the usual garnishes; basil leaves, limes, sprouts and jalapeños. It also came with a plate of pickled cabbage, carrots and jalapeños. The duck was good, it was a leg quarter. I also had a taro fruit smoothie; that was good also. The taste reminded me of coconut. I was given a choice of complimentary ice cream or flan; I choose the flan. The service great and this is a place I would visit again.

3 stars for the food and 1 for value for money. A quiet place in a strip mall next to Hmart on Abbotts bridge Rd, JC. Phở(noodle soup) during rainy or cold nights is an absolute comfort food. This place serves a flavorful chicken phở with rice noodles in it. The soup had a mild ginger flavor. The pickles accompaniment would raise the spice level along with the phở if you fall short in spice level. We personally do not like hot sauce in the phở cos it spoils the elegantly flavored soup. Although the chicken meat in it is no good in taste. Discard the meat. The yellow vietnamese curry with either chicken or tofu is also a steal for the same $ 7.95. One entrée is just enough for 2 people if you are an average eater. Dine in will fetch you a free ice cream for every entrée you order. Just a small scoop of ice cream on a piece of banana bread.

No Banh Mi and you know I love my Banh Mi. But nice and really friendly english speaking service none-the– less. Lunch comes with flan or ice cream. Noodles with pork and shrimp was mild and delicious. Even though it was good it was not great and probably would not return unless a friend wanted to try it.

Went here for lunch the other day. The phở is decent. The broth is delicious but there was not that much meat in the soup. I just got a couple of pieces of steak and tendon and it really left me wanting more. Of course they give you all the bean sprouts, basil, etc. The service was prompt and attentive. The most annoying thing is the 10 credit card minimum. Since I don’t typically carry cash, this can be annoying. A regular bowl of phở will run you 8 dollars and then you must scramble to find something else to order, or find a friend who is willing to spot you.

Though I live just down the street from New Saigon, I haven’t been there in quite some time. I have been really craving Vietnamese food lately and was wavering between here and Le Mekong, which is just across the street before deciding on New Saigon just because I’ve been here before and knew that I would enjoy it. I stopped by for lunch around 1 on a Sunday and there were only about 4⁄5 tables occupied. Service was quick and we were well taken care of. We ordered two dishes: the rare beef with tendon phở and the charbroiled lemon grass chicken. To be quite honest, some Vietnamese friends have sworn off coming to New Saigon because they say its a disgrace to Vietnamese food, but I don’t know that much about Vietnamese food nor do I eat enough of it to tell what is authentic Nonetheless, the food was tasty, though not spectacular. Breakdown: Phở $ 7.25 for regular, $ 8.25 for large: Is it just me or have the servings gotten smaller? I remember the regular sizes being HUGE, but now it just looks medium to large. The soup was good though — nice and hot, perfect for a cold December day — but maybe a tad too salty and of course, probably with tons of MSG. Noodles were not mushy and there were a respectable amount of beef/tendon slices. Overall, a decent bowl. Charbroiled lemongrass chicken $ 7.75? $ 7.95? One or the other: Prior to this visit, I had only tried the phở at New Saigon and I think I’ll probably stick to it. The chicken wasn’t bad… it just wasn’t very good either. Albeit moist, there was not a lot of lemongrass flavor and I’m not too big of a fan of the broken rice it was served with. The chili vinaigrette was very good though, but not spicy at all. I added on a good amount of siriacha. Dessert: New Saigon stopped giving out free dessert. It’s $ 1 now, so we didn’t get it. Usually it is ice cream with a tiny slice of banana bread or a flan. From past visits, it’s tasty when its free, but I wouldn’t want to pay for it. Overall, it was a filling lunch, but I think I’m going to start branching out and trying a couple different Vietnamese places.

I’ve tried giving this place a couple shots, but each time I left feeling like there was more to be desired from the meal. The phở here is «okay» but nothing great. I ordered a x-large last time I was there and I felt that they packed on the noodles but didn’t do much to change the amount of meat included. The noodles seemed strange in that they were all stuck together and a little harder than what I’ve had at other places(almost seemed like they were left out for a little?) At the end of the meal, you’re given a free dessert, but don’t get too excited. You get to choose from either a small spoon full of ice-cream on top of a thin slice of banana bread or some flan. Neither are that great, but if you had to choose one, go with the banana bread. Just be ready for some really dry tasting banana bread.

Does rainy day food get any better than a big, steaming bowl of noodles? I don’t think so! One of my best friends is a regular at New Siagon and has been singing their praises for months. So yesterday, I braved the wilds OTP and got my phở on. I’m no sort of expert on phở, but my regular sized #202 was a total winner in my book. Plenty of noodles, thinly sliced flank, and the mandatory platter of bean sprouts, basil, lime and jalapeño made my night. The broth was scrumptious on its own, but I could not resist hitting it with a little sriracha. I also had some hoisin on the side to dip my beef slices, which, while not fall-apart tender, were easily pulled apart with my chopsticks and spoon. The atmosphere was laid-back and friendly, with lots of families. We had great service, although since my friend and her family are serious regulars, not everyone might experience the same. Overall, I would certainly recommend it if you’re in the area!

It seems that everywhere I turn people are talking about Phở. Phở this, Phở that. It’s soup with noodles, right? What’s the big deal? Today I was charged with writing a lil somethin for the blog about food, so I knew I had to make it a place I hadn’t reviewed yet. You know — that whole 2 birds thing. I did my quick Unilocal search for restaurants around my office, because surely I haven’t looked at the search results every single day for the past 18 months trying to find something new. Suddenly I remembered seeing New Saigon when I was getting my almond bubble tea from Snow Mountain. Done deal. I started with the Goi Cuon, or Vietnamese Salad Rolls — Shrimp, chicken, rice vermicelli, bean sprouts and lettuce wrapped in soft rice paper and served with peanut hoisin sauce. It came with 3 rolls, which is enormous in my opinion! I could only eat one and that was pushing it. Delicious! The server even gave me a fork«for emergencies.» I laughed at this. Emergency fork server was a very kind guy who kept stopping to ask if I wanted help with the menu as I flipped through 5 pages of food that all sounded great. He probably thought I was confused, but really I just wanted to try everything. I considered the Chili Plum Chicken, which he said I would probably like, and the Teramide Chicken and Shrimp, which he said I definitely would not like. I don’t know how he knew what I’d like, but I figured I should listen. After a few minutes of chatting about the menu I flipped back to the Phở page. I’d never had Phở, but everyone and their brother talks about it so I figured I should probably just go ahead and try it. I’m so glad I did. I really can’t say whether it was good in comparison to other places, obviously, but I will say that it was good enough to have again and again! Emergency Fork chose the Phở Tai Ga for me — Chicken and sliced rare beef. At first I didn’t realize he’d given me a spoon so I was a little confused about how I was going to drink soup with chopsticks. But after he showed me the spoon and then helped me doctor up the Phở with both oyster and chili sauces I was in Phở heaven! Right now I’m sooo Phở I could burst(yeah, I said it) and I barely made a dent.
