Phở is always good and fresh here– no question about it. What I love is their service and the waiters: they are always ready and so nice. The décor is a little bare though. I feel like I’m eating in a school cafeteria. If the ambiance was a little better they would have 5 stars for sure!

There’s a couple things I look for in a Phở restaurant: cleanliness, quality of meat, and service. This place meets all my requirements plus more. I was in and out in 20min, the service was amazing, the phở was excellent, and the menus were clear to read. I will definitely make this place one of my regular attending phở restaurants in the future.

Easily one of my more favorite places for Vietnamese noms and hope to return soon. The staff was super accommodating to our very large party and also really friendly. Their food equally as spectacular. A majority of our party ordered phở, a couple of apps, and various delicious items off their menu– clay pots, etc. Lotus is located in the shopping center beside the Pleasant Hill H-mart. We’d gone here numerous times, but rarely had actually sampled the restaurants within the plaza, outside of Tree Story and a few Korean spots. Lotus ended up being the chosen dine out for a birthday and I’m certainly not going to pass up a chance to hang out with said celebrating friend and also, delicious food? Hell yes. Sadly, though I was feeling peckish at the time and only grazed off most of the menu– got a little worked up over how delicious everything looked on Unilocal, only ordering shrimp rice wraps, lotus chips, and a soda chanh, I also took a great sampling of the misters fish clay pot. All of it was amazing. The phở looked amazing, the soda chanh was delicious. Loved the saltiness and would actually have liked this a lot more if it was non-processed lemonade/freshly made lemonade/limeade. The lotus roots are a must try. Of course, you can’t go wrong with anything rice wrap with peanut sauce. The fish clay pot is also a big recommend. I believe there were a few vegetarians in our party, and Lotus gets the okay by them. I love that. Their phở is veggie friendly and looked/smelled so fresh. The stuff was literally inhaled. Lotus also has a really thought out menu some of which I hadn’t seen at other Vietnamese restaurants. The time our party was there, there were also two other equally as large groups plus several smaller groups, couples mostly. They some how accommodated us all without looking like the broke a sweat. Hats off to that. I’m rarely ever that far North nowadays to just go out to eat, but if ever luck would have it. Lotus can count me back.

Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there was a giant creep… I mean crêpe! To be even more accurate, it’s called Bahn Xeo and is truly a marvel to behold when it arrives at the table. Unfortunately for me, it was in a far away land as the trip from Midtown to Duluth takes way longer than it should. Complaining aside, let’s change gears for a second and talk about the whole picture here: Contemporary atmosphere: the décor here is great, simple and contemporary. I like the exposed ceiling painted in dark colors, the lamps and all around, it’s well done. Don’t expect a Michelin star restaurant design, but comparatively speaking to other Vietnamese restaurants, it’s a huge improvement. Filet Mignon Skillet: just awesome. Tasty, juicy meat, served flaming hot with an egg on the side. The Crêpe: eating this for the first time, it was interesting to find out that the consistency is very different than a normal crêpe. Much thicker, more flour used in making it. It was served with tons of fresh veggies, such as cilantro, basil and some odd tasting grasses. The crêpe is filled with sprouts and chicken, which was a pretty good filling, but probably would get something different next time. It was a phenomenal experience, especially after soaking all day at JeJu.

Service: waiters are normally very tentative, you can catch their attention easily and they are prompt with service. However, given the restaurant always have only 2 – 3 tables occupied everytime we visited, it’s kind of expected. We were not impressed last time when we ordered sizzling beef and the egg was raw(due to the iron plate not hit enough to cook). The waiter had the audacity to blame us on not knowing to turn and mix the egg when it was first brought out. Blaming customer for something is never a good restaurant practice. Food: authentic Vietnamese food, tasty and reasonably priced. It’s the good that draws us back. Portion is as per Vietnamese standard not American so don’t expect huge plate, just enough to keep you wanting more. Mixed fried rice is to die for and phở is fresh and flavorful. Atmosphere: unlike most Vietnamese restaurant, this place looks spotlessly clean. Again, it’s a big positive given the good quality of food as well. Recommend highly for a visit.

I just returned from SE Asia a couple months ago — pretty much ate my way through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. I had a hankering for some authentic Vietnamese here in Atlanta and came across this place after a little research. Lotus doesn’t disappoint. At all. Everything, from the phở ga to the décor is 100% authentic, right down to the spicy frog legs on the menu. Great service too. Five stars. A very pleasant dinner indeed.

Lotus is my go-to for phở in Duluth when I am in town. Large portions for a good price(Note: X-Large is massive). I usually get the chicken phở but I can vouch for the other dishes as my friends have nothing but positives about the food. If you go during dinner they are busy and you will see a few servers running the whole restaurant, this may cause some delays. I took off a star due to this lack of staffing but it could be related to the holidays.

The phở here is good and tasty. Unlike some other places that skimp on meat, Lotus’ phở had a good amount of meat in it. They are also open on Christmas. Our service was weird though. we were seated in the middle of the restaurant and I felt big drops of water fall on my head. I looked up and there was water dripping from the exposed pipes. I notified the waiter who responded, «Yes it’s condensation.» Okay…? After an awkward long pause, he said, «Do you want to sit somewhere else?» Um… yes? Why would they seat us there in the first place? It seemed like they knew water was dripping and there was also one of those«wet floor» signs placed near our table. When we were reseated, the waiter also brought our waters to the new table. He was balancing 3 cups of water in one hand and spilled water on my mom’s phone, which was on the corner of the table. He said, «Oh shh.» and just stared at the wet phone. As I wiped the water off the phone, he took a napkin and halfheartedly wiped the water off the table. Then he left quickly without apologizing. and our table was still very wet. Fortunately the phone cover saved the phone itself from getting wet. It was just really weird. He didn’t seem like a mean guy. Just really really incompetent. Everyone else working there was nice.

Was starving one night and in the mood for beef luc lac so I stopped in and ordered com bo luc lac with fried rice to go. The man in the front taking my order was so friendly and helpful. I really really wanted to like this place because it’s close to my house and got great reviews. The beef was very oily and not flavored well. It was tasteless and not the flavor I am used to– the past bo luc lacs that I have had have been savory with a bit of sweetness. I paid over $ 12 for my meal so it was a bit more than I am used to paying for Vietnamese food. The staff was really friendly but the food was so terrible. I may go back to give this place one more try and order something different. If I do, hopefully it’s better and this was just a fluke.

Let me start off with that I’m Vietnamese and I know how this stuff is supposed to be made. A lot of the phở places in Atlanta take short cuts and use powders instead of creating a good beef stock out of bones. I was skeptical at first thinking it will just be another OK phở place. First got the egg rolls. Typical egg roll it was decent. Then I got the shrimp thing aka banh beo hue. It was delicious!!! So delicate and light, the fish sauce wasn’t over powering either. The crotons and fried shallots gave it a good crunch. It was a delight to eat. I ordered phở dac biet regular size and my bf got the large. The large came out and lord Jesus was it big(twss right… hahahahah). I could swim in it. The beef broth was also delicate with a perfect balance of sweet and savory. I could enjoy it just like that without hoisin and sriracha but I added anyways. Broth was still delicious. There were tiny bits of bone marrow in the soup and it only enhanced the flavor without grease or fatty taste. The meats were extraordinarily tender. At other places you got to chew off your jaw before you can swallow the meat. This place took a lot of care in their food and it shows. Will be recommending it to everyone who wants a good bowl of phở true Vietnam style.

Phở is very popular as you might know. It’s ingrained in American culture just like apple pie. You know it’s here to stay when they make a joke about it on Modern Family. Lotus is one of the better phở restaurants in the state. They’re known for their broth and noodles(they give a lot) and meat(not as much). The restaurant itself is finely decorated with an atmosphere that is almost too fancy for a phở place. The staff here is pretty good. I would say they are always available when you need them and they do a great job of accommodating your needs. Great when it comes to recommendation for items that you may not be too familiar with. Overall this place is pretty good. It’s very popular and the fact that it is doing well in a Korean shopping center is evidence of that. Lotus is one of my go-to Vietnamese restaurants for phở. My Recommendations: –Phở Dac Biet –Avocado smoothie –Salted Fish fried rice

Why it took so long to enter these doors is just not right I shake my head as I write this. The Phở here is the star of the show for sure you can smell the spices as you walk in the door. The broth is cooked for more than eight hours both meat and bones are used and it cleaned multiple times. The spices used are cinnamon, star anise, nutmeg and . Regular is big, large is huge and the extra large will feed two to three people. I will get the extra large to go and get multiple meals for just ten bucks. The combo special R2(I think) just didn’t work for me to many different textures and was a bit bland in general. Chicken wings, 2 pc. of shrimp, egg soufflé, noodles with shredded pork, fried shrimp skin and a pork chop with broken rice. I was looking to try something new did and will pass. Others have mentioned that there is a 30% discount on appetizers the discount is now 10%. There are quite a few things to choose from on the menu and will continue to investigate and post pictures. If you are a lover of Phở Dai Loi and find yourself in Gwinnett you will find that Lotus is equally as good an worth the slurp.

I’ve been to Lotus a few more times, and I’ve grown fond of it. I like their phở nowadays. It seems to be tasting much better than before for some reason. I also get their ca kho tho. It’s not as caramelized as I’d like it to be, probably because the fish comes from frozen, so it steams more than caramelized. The taste is definitely good though. Their fresh orange juice is great as well!

This phở house has never failed me! I think in the Duluth area there might be like 1or 2 other good phở places on top of my head. Lotus broth has to be the cleanest one, meaning not too much fat/grease floating around. I think that’s one of the reason I keep coming back here since every time I try a new place for phở it seems like they loooove to give you grease/fat with broth and noodles haha. Their service it’s been great so far, they greet you a smile and for most part you are seated right away(in my personal experience, and from what I have observed). As you can see from my picture from here I have a to go item here, yes you are correct its P5 flank, brisket phở. But I always make a request to replace the flank for more brisket(tender compared to the flank). The broth alone it’s great but if you add that Sriracha sauce… It will definitely kick it up a notch or two or three! I just make mine looks like it’s asking for mercy from all the Sriracha sauce I add. The spring rolls are good as well but sometimes a little too dry. Besides that the phở it’s what I come here for and will definitely keep coming as long as they keep it like it is.

I really couldn’t recommend Lotus enough. I was in Flowery Branch craving some good Asian food. I’m reluctant to give in to over fried Chinese buffets, so I decided to drive the 15 – 20 minutes south to Duluth to find something. I discovered Lotus on Unilocal and was more than pleasantly surprised to pull into the parking lot and see very few signs in the shopping center that were in English. Being overwhelmed by the huge number of delicious looking choices on the menu, I asked the waiter which chicken dishes he recommended. He eagerly asked me if I liked curries and was quick to recommend the red chicken curry. I absolutely loved it. The chicken was lightly battered and pan fried, served in the red curry sauce with peppers and onions with white sticky rice on the side. I could’ve eaten 10 plates of this, it was so good. Since I had decided by that point to be a bit of a fatty for the day, I ordered a Thai red iced tea to go along with it. It was really good, and when I had to leave earlier than expected, then they happily put it in a to-go cup.

Lotus Vietnamese Cuisine is a pretty decent all-around Vietnamese restaurant located in the Super H Mart shopping plaza on Pleasant Hill Rd. in Duluth. If facing H Mart, Lotus is on the right. Same side as Tree Story and Chung Dam. Lotus is where the old Phở Mimi and Lollicup used to be. This restaurant is most comparable to Nam Phuong, a Vietnamese restaurant with locations on Jimmy Carter Blvd. and Buford Hwy. Like Nam Phuong, Lotus doesn’t specialize in just phở(noodle soup) or banh mi(sandwiches). Instead, it has a well-rounded menu of Vietnamese cuisine which includes several unique dishes that are hard to find elsewhere in metro Atlanta. Lotus is a casual restaurant. It’s almost bare bones when it comes to ambiance and décor. However, this place is great for and is popular with families and groups. The restaurant is medium sized. Booths line the walls and easy-to-move tables are located in the dining area. There’s a bar that’s just for show and a small seating/waiting area for when the place gets busy. The menu includes a bevy of Vietnamese appetizers(e.g. usual suspects like fresh spring rolls, but also steamed rice cakes and crispy lotus root!), goi(salads, such as papaya salad), banh xeo(crepes), banh hoi(rice vermicelli«bundle» dishes), phở and seafood noodle soups, bun(rice vermicelli noodle dishes), hu tieu(a different kind of Vietnamese noodle soup), mi xao(pan-fried«dry» noodles, no soup), com(broken rice dishes, both crispy, regular, and fried), hot clay pots, canh(soups), and entrees featuring sizzling meats and chef’s specials including ingredients such as squid, frog, fish, shrimp, and abalone. It’s a lot of good stuff. They also serve Vietnamese drinks like chanh muoi, which is made from salted and fermented lemons. Sounds bad, but some people love it. It might be an acquired taste. I think it’s OK. Salty and sour. I prefer the fizzy«soda» version, which they sell. Asian beers, wine, and smoothies are also available. Menu items are reasonably priced. Appetizers are always 30% off, which seems like a gimmick, but it’s an OK deal. You won’t pay more than about $ 4 for most appetizers. A majority of the entrees are under $ 10 each. Several of the specials are priced around $ 12 or more. Phở comes in three sizes and is priced at $ 6.96 for regular size, $ 7.96 for large, and $ 9.36 for extra large. If you want to try something fun and different, I highly recommend the banh beo hue appetizer. Most Vietnamese restaurants in Atlanta do not serve this dish. One order at Lotus consists of eight small plates containing steamed rice cakes. On top are crispy fried shallots, chopped scallion, and minced dried shrimp. The cakes are served with a side of nuoc mam(fish sauce) with peppers. It’s delicious and easiest eaten with a spoon. Just scoop the cakes out of the little dishes they’re served in. Lotus’ phở is quite alright. They make a respectable bowl of phở. I always go for the phở dac biet, which is basically phở with everything: beef filet, flank steak, fatty brisket, soft tendon, tripe, and meat balls. The soup also comes with sliced onion, chopped scallion, and a side of fresh veggies including fresh bean sprouts, basil, culantro, cilantro, jalapeño, and lime. I’ve found the veggies to be crisp and fresh. The broth is delicious — fragrant and flavorful. The meat is savory and the noodle portion is generous. The regular size should suit most people just fine, especially when paired with an appetizer. Hungry folks and big eaters should go for the large. Only if you are starving, and perhaps eating nothing else, should you go for the extra large size. Be sure to add the table-supplied hoisin sauce, Sriracha sauce, and chili garlic paste for additional flavor. I sometimes like to make a dipping sauce to dip the meats into. Other times, I just mix the sauces directly into the soup. Another entrée I like here is the bun thit nuong cha gio — it’s a bowl of rice vermicelli noodles topped with grilled pork, a crispy egg roll, lettuce, fried shallots, chopped basil, and pickled shredded carrots and daikon radish. While I still prefer the equivalent of this dish at Nam Phuong, Lotus cooks up a sufficient bun and it is tasty. Be sure to add fish sauce. If you don’t like fish sauce, try soy sauce. My only gripe is I wish they served more crispy egg rolls on top, like the other restaurants. Other dishes you’ll want to consider are the broken rice dishes(filling and satisfying), hot clay pots(very appetizing, but small portion sizes), and canh soups(refreshing, ideal for sharing). Service can be spotty, especially when the restaurant is busy. Pay at the register when you’re ready. Lotus is open until 11pm every night except for Tuesdays(closed all day).

3.5 Stars. Summary: Great prices and get something with some spice. Praveen, a fellow Unilocal Elite was telling me about this place while I was hanging out with him and Dijan, who also happens to be a Unilocal Elite, and when we got here I immediately recognized that I had been here before and had milk teas. I think this is the first place I had ever tried coffee jelly. From what I remember, their milk teas were pretty good, especially the coffee one. As we had dinner today though, my experience was okay. We started out with a couple of appetizers: the chicken spring rolls and the pan-fried taro cakes. The spring rolls came with a peanut sauce. I thought they were ok. The peanut sauce was good, but the spring rolls were a little sparse both herbs and chicken wise. I enjoy my spring rolls with lots of herbs. We did share them 4 ways though, so maybe it just depended on the piece we got. The taro cakes were pretty good. They came with scrambled eggs, and they had their own sauce. I don’t think the sauce was necessary for the taro cakes. They melted in my mouth, but they were a little bland. For dinner, I got the chicken with lemongrass. It ended up being just chicken and onions… lots and lots of onions. I like onions, but I don’t love them so the fact that there was a 3:1 onions: chicken ratio was disappointing. It was fine with the steamed rice though. Two of my friends got beef dishes and the beef was really great, especially when they added lemon to it. My other friend got the fish curry in a clay pot which was amazing. It was full of spices and tasted great with the rice. I think if I had this, I would have given Lotus 5 stars, but with everything combined it was just ok. The service was awesome though. She brought us warm water instead of cold water because it was cold outside and was always checking on us. The prices here are pretty good too. It’s not too expensive for Vietnamese food. I would definitely try this place again.
