We ordered off the menu — I did ask if that meant that our food would be cooked to order then, i was told yes — I highly doubt that it was. We all had the beef koobideh and it was dry and not very flavorful, with a rubbery texture, like it had been reheated numerous times. We had also asked to sub the basmati with raisin and lentil instead of the plain basmati. When our food came out, no raisin/lentil basmati so we had to order a whole dinner portion of rice? at 9 bucks? The salads were passable, hummus had no flavor whatsoever. The homemade ice cream was good. In the end, we were using a gift certificate and had miscalculated the required tip — our mistake, but when we went to rectify it, we were overcharged. After pulling out the calculators, the manager/owner came to the same amount we did, but instead of apologizing, told us to get the«f» out of his restaurant… Good times! I highly don’t recommend this restaurant. Go to Rumi’s, Fanoos, the Mediterranean grill — all WAYBETTER then this place.

This place was horrible. We have been meaning to go there for a while but finally made it and it was extremely disappointing. The buffet itself was bad to start with from the choice of food they offered. This is not a feast and should rename the place. Salads were not fresh either and the chicken was not cooked properly and lacked any flavor. For a mediterranean place, how come they don’t have falafel. Bread was stale too and not warm. They couldn’t even get the basic rice right and had a weird flavor and smell. Never setting foot in this place ever again.

This place would be better if it wasn’t in John’s Creek. They have a pretty good buffet and the wait staff is friendly and helpful. Thier wine list is above decent and the service is good. They have a buffet, which is what I had and it was well done… for buffet food. I was there for a poker tourney and do not know how it is run outside of that. I would go back if it wasn’t so far away

The food is worth two stars but the third star is for a friendly wait staff and nice ambiance. Although there are no real stellar Mediterranean shops in town, there are plenty better than this one.

I would never go to this restaurant again. The food is completely horrible. Maybe, if you havent had middle eastern or Mediterranean food before, you can try this place because you wont know what good food tastes like, but this place is not recommended at all. The buffet was cold at 8 pm, the ac was not working in one part of the restaurant. The waitress was extremely nice, but the owner was in the back yelling at her to move quickly. It was really unprofessional. I even heard him say the f word a few times. All in all, the food was not good, they did not have a lot of the items on the actual menu and their response was nonchalant about it. I would definitely go to Imaans in Johns Creek over this place any day or drive twenty minutes into the city for better Persian food. Also, they definitely do not prepare the hummus fresh, the waitress even told me this.

I can’t in good faith say this food was good. The menu online was not up to date, and the food on the menu was not available.(we went with 3 women, a 4 year old, 2 year old, and a 3 mth old) 1. They ran out of meat 2. We sat for 20 minutes until we got service of water 3. Once we finally got around to ordering they tell us they are out of meat, At this point we ask them to accommodate us as most service industry should. The owner got very upset and started cursing at my brother. He used the f word numerous times. My brother leaves after that with the kids. The owners then continues to curse at me and my sister using the f word. and calling us low lives. This place is in Johns Creek area so one would think that there aren’t any low lives living there. 4. We then trying to pay the bill and he tells us to get the F out. and I respond with do you want your money or not. and tells me to get the f out. As we were walking out he says to my brother to get your f******* sisters out of here you low lives. DONOTEATHERETHEYARECLEARLYRACISTTOWARDSOTHERRELIGIONS. eh, it was filling. The hummus was excellent. The food looked like it had been sitting a while. They seem under staffed judging by the«Help Wanted» poster in the window. Ambiance was nice service was excellent. Very family oriented. For 14.95 the food was not that good. 9.95 would be more understanding.

Buffet is pricey on weekends — $ 14.95 for dinner on Fri/Sat. However $ 12.95 on other nights, and $ 8.95 for lunch. While my friends raved about the food, I thought it was just ok. I did have a few favorites — the basmati rice, Sinbad’s hot sauce, Fensenjoon, and the beef and chicken koobideh. The cold buffet selections were disappointing. I was also sad the buffet didn’t have any desserts :( Service was very friendly and attentive though, esp. for our large party of 40. If you live near the Johns Creek area and you’ve never had Persian food, then definitely check it out. Otherwise I’d recommend sticking with the choices in Sandy Springs.

Friendly service but terrible tasteless unappealing food. Maybe I’m spoiled by Persipollis on Roswell Rd. But eating here was difficult. Probably will close down by years end.

Vegans and Carnivores rejoice! We too were skeptical after reading the mixed reviews but the burger place we wanted to try across the street went out of business so we decided to try Sinbad’s. And boy are we glad we did! I never had a chance to eat at Sias but I don’t mind the recycled décor if that means they can keep their costs down and their quality up. I would say they’ve been successful. Went on a Saturday at lunch time — 12:30PM. The buffet was fresh, plentiful and temperature correct — stuff supposed to be hot was very hot. The buffet included 2 green salads, chicken salad, hummus, homemade tziki, yogurt dip with spinach, 2 or 3 kinds of rice(I highly recommend the one with lamb) a beef/eggplant dish that was great, another eggplant dish that was very good and resembled a traditional Spanish dish my husband makes called Toombit(sp?), chunky chicken with a slight hint of lemon, grilled veggies, homemade pita, and beef & chicken kubideh. The beef kubideh was especially good. I may be forgetting an item or two. The only item I would not recommend is the hummus. It tasted like Joy dishwashing detergent smells. It was the only lemony thing other than the chunky chicken, which was subtle and quite tasty. The lunch buffet was $ 9 and did not include beverage or dessert but that’s OK because we did not leave room for dessert! Hubby & I both felt like we got more than our money’s worth. If all you ate was the kubideh and pita, you could walk out of there very full. We will definitely be back for lunch. As nearly every other review indicated, the staff was very attentive and eager to answer questions about the food. Maybe almost too attentive in our case, but that’s better than being ignored. The Chef invited us to come back on a Saturday night when then have belly dancing and the hooka lounge. He also pointed out they have a smaller seating area in a separate room if the main dining room is too noisy. I imagine that room could also be used for private parties. I believe the Chef said they’d be offering some type of alcohol soon — maybe just beer & wine to start. I am not sure if the buffet line up changes for dinner, but even if it was the same as lunch, for $ 16 you could easily get your fill at dinner.

I really like mediterranean cuisine and was excited to try Sinbad’s. I thought the venue size, décor and staff were very nice(had a very sweet young female server). I came at a weird hour of the day so I want to come back again as it was the end of the lunch hour and the food was slightly stale /left over. It was good food in the fact that it taste great, was healthy and made from good quality fresh ingredients… It just had sat out a little too long. Okay– okay… it grossed me out to eat old food and I’m probably not coming back. I really wanted to be nice because… I think I really liked the idea of having this type of food so close to home, but first impressions mean much. I also didn’t like that dessert had to be purchased in addition to the lunch buffet(not to mention one dessert item cost 65% of the bill for the entire buffet). The desserts did look huge, but just figured they’d create at least one dish that came with meal. My lunch buffet was under $ 10 though so I can see this relationship working for someone else… I just would advise arriving when they first open? Hmm… I wish them luck.

The family tried Sinbad’s after Church because we had a Goupon. It wasn’t at all crowded at 1pm on Sunday. The service was exceptional, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is very nice — a quiet resturant to hold a conversation. I know nothing about this type of food — so I have no way of judging if it tasted the way it is «supposed» to taste. I liked some things and didn’t like others — most of the family had the same reaction. I’m really glad we went — it was a great chance to experience a new form of food for us. I probably won’t go back because I didn’t really enjoy it that much. Again, there wasn’t anything wrong — I’d just rather have a steak.

This is the old Sia’s location. Its really close to my mom’s house and she had been wanting to go for quite some time… so we decided to give it a try. Where to begin? First off, the restaurant looks the exact same from when it was Sia’s… so not much difference like I was expecting.(since it had completely changed style of food.) There is a buffet for $ 14.99 or you can order ala carte. We(5 of us) decided to go with the buffet that way we could get a little taste of everything they had. The selection was OK. Not super extensive. There were 2 salads which were decent. Some cold salads, humus, hot meat dishes, gyro meat, chicken wings, and pita bread. *If you enjoy Lemon you will love everything. If you do not like lemon– avoid this place. Everything we ate tasted like lemon. EVERYTHING. The«roasted red pepper humus» looked terrific… but tasted like a lemon wedge… very strange. This was a general consensus at our table: WAY. TOO. MUCH. LEMON. The meat dishes were OK. The chicken and celery dish was not good, neither was the chicken and pomegranate… The gyro meat, pita and chicken and mushroom dish was very good! They have a pasta & chicken salad dish that is delicious! They had big chunks of feta which were OK– but extremely salty. Like, too salty– even for feta! All in all, this place is OK– not great– I have certainly had better. And for $ 14.99– I’d rather take my business elsewhere! The server we had was really nice… kind of a slow talker– but still super nice and attentive. There was a belly dancer and she was really good and had most of us engaged. One side-note– there was no dessert offered with the buffet which we thought was a little strange… But no big deal. Try it out if you are in the Creek but don’t make a special trip if you aren’t in town!

I never cease to be amazed at how 2 people can go to the same restaurant and rate it on opposite ends of the scale. This one was written up in the AJC as worth going to so we tried it. First of all, if you were a total vegetarian, you’d have plenty of great tasting cold and hot dishes to pick from. However, the best salad is a chicken salad with potatoes(mashed). The chicken and mushroom soup is fantastic as well. As others have said, the kabobs, particularly the ground beef kabobs, are excellent. All in all, this is one of the buffets worth trying. I’ve been to other Persian buffets, Lebanese buffets and all the Indian ones. This is one that finally gives a good name to buffets. Contrary to some reviews, the food when we went was all hot(if hot was what it was supposed to be) and fresh. Also, the staff is helpful, extremely friendly, courteous and really caring. Each will tell you what their favorites are and describe in detail what each item is.

Dinner items that were supposed to be hot were lukewarm and overcooked/mushy. The place itself was quite chilly inside. Service was very good though. Liked the beef kabob they grill fresh for you and serve at your table.

3 stars considering the drive out there is a bit much even for this OTP gal. Food was very fresh and the buffet was constantly being refilled. The sirloin tips were excellent melt in your mouth and the fesenjoon was out of this world, the beef was fall apart tender. The buffet had several cold salad dishes, various herbs, meat and poultry dishes. I would definitely stop by if you are in the area!

The place is pretty big, holding 100+, I’m guessing, and is a nice looking space. We were visiting the area and went to Sinbad’s based on the good reviews(although, I know there were only 3). We were disappointed. I think a big part of the problem was that we went early on a Wednesday night and only saw about a dozen people eating there in the hour or so that we were there, including some people that were getting carryout. The service was good as were the sirloin pieces that they bring to your table(they’ll also bring soup but we didn’t have any). The buffet, however, was disapointing. The salads were okay but the hot food was less than lukewarm when I went up for round one and the two types of chicken were both dry. The celery beef was pretty good and the ground beef patties and the saffron rice were tasty. The food was a decent temperature when I went up a second time. There was enough food on the buffet to feed 25 people which I believe is part of the problem with the dryness. It seemed like the chicken had been warmed up from the lunch(if not, it had been cooked too long). If your planning on trying this place, I’d recommend going on the weekend and not when they first open.

When I drove passed SF and saw the sign I thought of Sinbad the comedian, but he and the restaurant have no correlation. I came on a Monday night and we were early, but the service and food were wonderful! There were 4 salads, house, chicken, cucumber, and romaine. Several different types of yogurt dips– one with spinach, one with cucumbers, and another plain. 3 different types of rice — basmati, one with raisins and nuts, and another one with pieces of meat(I can’t remember the name.) There were 2 stews — one with beef and another with eggplant and I think chicken. Several grilled veggies — portabello, onions, peppers and tomatoes. 2 different types of chicken and lamb which was my favorite. It was very tender. Plus several other things on the bar that I didn’t try. The chef also gave us beef tips that were delicious and the best cream puff that I’ve ever had! Lunch buffet during the week is $ 8.99 and dinner is $ 12.99. On the weekend dinner is $ 14.99. Most buffets make you feel stuffed and so full, but at SF I didn’t feel like I normally do at buffets. Plus, I think it is much healthier than most buffets. Def check it out if you love Mediterranean cuisine. Located in the shopping center next to St. Ives Country Club where the old Sia’s used to be.

Unbelievable flavors with top-notch ingredients from owner/Chef PJ. Everything is made in-house from scratch. The stews are incredibly delicious. My favorite here is the Fesenjoon — chicken stewed in pomegranates and crushed walnuts. It will blow you away. Lunch buffet is $ 8.99 and dinner buffet is $ 12.99. Dishes change daily.
