Solar Eclipse

This place is great. The staff is friendly and the prices are the lowest in town, guaranteed. I’ve tried a lot of the salons around here. Best prices are at Solar Eclipse.

I signed up for a three month membership towards the beginning of 2013. I was told this would cost a total of $ 43.99 per month (tax included.) That’s a little high for what I’ve normally paid at tanning salons, but the location was so convenient that I signed up regardless. When I signed up I was never informed that I would need to cancel my account after the three month period was up. The girl that was working the front desk seemed frazzled and didn’t take her time to explain anything to me. They always seemed understaffed and out of order. I would hear the girls complaining about other no show employees. At one point a manager from another store was working the front desk and was complaining to me about how out of order everything was since she left. She apologized to me over and over about how out of order everything was.
They have about eight or so different rooms/​beds. Since I paid for the super, there were only a few select beds I was limited to. Almost every time I tanned, there was something wrong with the bed. There were two bulbs out in the same bed for at least two weeks. I told the girl at the front, she did nothing about it. The next few times I came, the lights were still out. I had to lay on my stomach so I didn’t get tanning lines on my face. It was ridiculous how long it took them to fix this. Not to mention there were never any clean towels and the beds were usually dirty.
The main problem: When I initially signed up, she did not get my expiration date on my credit card, and therefore couldn’t charge me. I received a voicemail when they noticed this explaining that they never got the date to charge my card again, and I thought great I got out of this terrible contract. Well, I was wrong. I was then charged three more times randomly throughout each month even though I signed up to be charged the 10^th of every month. I paid a total of $ 175.96 throughout my three month contract. $ 43.99 INCLUDING the fourth month I never agreed to. Unfortunately I never noticed these charges because of the random dates they came out of my account. I called the office as soon as I noticed these charges on my account. The girl I spoke with told me she will cancel my account. I asked her if there was anything she could do about the final charges, she explained to me she didn’t have the authority to do that and she will speak with her manager and have them call me. It’s been over two weeks and I have yet to hear from anyone.
Overall I was extremely disappointed with Solar Eclipse. I would not recommend them to anyone. Be prepared for high cost and terrible customer service.
