Bottom line — the best food and service in Johnstown area. Everything I’ve ordered in many visits has been the best I’ve had in the area. Desserts are also to die for. Go and you’ll be glad you did.

I was a single dinner on a thursday night. Ordered spaghetti and meatballs and a the stuffed pepper appetizer and drank water. The food was very good and the ambiance was nice. The reason I took 2 stars off there rating is that it took 1 hour and 15 minutes for my dinning experience. A table of 2 came in after me and had a appetizer a couple steaks and was done eating before I got my entrée. Also I thought the prices where a high my bill came to $ 26.40 before tip. $ 9.95 for 3 stuffed peppers?

A wonderful little restaurant. Their entrees are delicious and very modestly priced. Try the crab dip appetizer; it is absolutely indelible.

Absolutely the best restaurant ive been to in Johnstown, EASILY. Possibly the best place I’ve ever been to period. Its a little misleading the location of this place. It sits in the same building as Shananagans Pub. If you walk in Shananagans and walk to the left through the door you enter into a beautifuly decorated room which is now called Asiago’s I felt a little underdressed to be honest(wearing jeans and a nice sweater) but i saw others in there in the same things. The dining room for Asiagos is TINY, but it makes it all the better, when i was there it was myself and my party and only one other table with people at it. I assume they arent very busy but thats a true surprise to me. I had the Red Pepper pasta and it was FANTASTIC, it was a mushroom sauce with that red pepper taste. Absolutely AMAZING. The female i was with had cheese Tortelini and she absolutely loved it also. There was nothing wrong with this place, ATALL. The prices weren’t outrageous by anymeans, but they certainently could be considering how good the food is. Also the portions are huge!!! When you order they throw your bread in the oven and ours came out right after the salad(which was amazing) and wow was the bread good. So warm and soft, and mixed with the oil just made it that much better. We decided to get the Doughnuts as desert and wow again, they were fantastic, the glaze they put on them aboslutely blew me away. Honestly if i could this place would get a 10⁄5. It was THAT good.

I walked into this restaurant at 6:00 on a Saturday evening, and almost left before I sat down because I thought they were closed(I counted 60 seats in the dining room, and ONE table was occupied — there were literally more employees than customers). I’m pretty sure that alone qualifies the place for«Best-Kept Secret in Johnstown», but the food qualifies it for«BEST Secret Kept in Johnstown». Sure, it was a little on the pricey side(just under $ 25, plus tip, for a single meal including a glass of the house red), but the food was so good that if I *had* a date to take to dinner, this is where it’d’ve been. The chicken parmigiana was so tender you could leave your dentures at home! Seriously, go there while it’s still here!

Great food and very good service. Our waitress was very nice and helped a lot when choosing what to get. I got the rosemary sirloin and it was fantastic! The sides were delicious as well and the atmosphere was also wonderful. Great place to enjoy a meal with friends. The prices are a bit higher than other places in Johnstown but well worth it.

This place is amazing!!! The evening my bf and I decided to go to this place, we were the only people there. So of course the service was outstanding. The best part of the meal was the bread and dipping oil our waitress kept bringing to our table(I’m a sucker for carbs!!!) Also, the wedding soup is a must try. This is the best Ive had in a long time!!! The portions of the dinners are very big(as always, I had to take half of it home) The prices of the food are reasonable(comparing that to the olive garden). So if you re looking to take a date out to dinner, or you want to propose to your significant other, this is the place, very classy and romantic… Cant wait to go back!!!

The name is so wrong, for me it cries a cheap run of the meal pasta joint and it is anything but… The restaurant is well manicured, the food is delectable, the service is impeccable, the presentation of the dishes and the varying offerings are outlandish! I loved it! For those in the know, this used to be the Gingerbread Man restaurant and that was his wife’s toy. HE has taken over and is buying up space right and left in Johnstown, but not thinking about names, thank heavens he is thinking about the chefs and the cuisine. This is his new toy. The restaurant has a huge front patio with a large seating area and heat lamps, walking in you enter his bar Shananagan’s Pub, yep that is how it is spelled. The lounge is huge with tables and long open booths filled with large soft pillows and candles on each table. The bar is beyond huge and private booths fill the floor space on the other side of the room. Walk through a set of doors and enter the Pasta Shoppe, where brick walls and adorned mantels greet you with a well maintained room making you feel a bit classy while dining under the stained glass ceiling lights and candle lit tables. Melissa was our beautiful server and she fit perfectly into the scheme of things as she was the perfect hostess to our fantastic dining experience. Once she takes your drink order she informs you that she has placed your order for your bread to be baked and when it is finished it is served with a spicy sun dried tomato and herb dipping oil. Crusty warm goodness infused with flavors one would dream of filled our mouths. Asiago stuffed black olives coated in Italian bread crumbs, Parmesan zucchini with marinara, toasted ravioli’s with marinara started us off. My favorites were the toasted ravioli and the asiago stuffed olives the zucchini was run of the meal, I’ve had the same many places, but I have had so much better with fresh spears. You get a house salad with your meal and this was a basic house salad, tomatoes are not robust this time of the year and the dressings were okay. However the pasta dishes were exceptional, anything but bland, robust flavors stuffed inside the pasta dishes and amazing sauces finished off each dish packing a wow factor, seriously! My daughter had the Portabella and cheese stuffed homemade ravioli’s with sliced grilled portabella mushrooms, steak tips and sundried tomatoes. The raviolis were jumbo sized and so filling that she had one, I had one and she still had three to take into work the next day, drool factor for her staff I’m sure. My homemade pillows were filled with gorganzola cheese and topped with a creamy gorganzola sauce and I was in bleu cheese heaven and I was very happy that I had three more pillows to eat for lunch the next day as I could not stop thinking about them. My son in law had the shrimp scampi that was perfectly prepared and laid on a huge bed of angel hair pasta. The many large shrimps had been tossed with fresh tomatoes, garlic, large pieces of onions, lemon, butter and white wine. As I stared at his dish, he took a picture of it and then immediately swirled a large spoonful onto my plate as he looked at me and smiled, I smiled back and reminded him of what a wonderful son in law he is. My granddaughter had the largest helping of lasagna I have ever seen both in height and the size of the square. Layered with noodles, meat, cheese and their homemade marinara, she was loving it but ended up with her own little leftover bag for the next day. Xanga deep fried banana cheesecake… Do I need to repeat that? Yes, I do! Outstanding, so creamy, crunchy and bananay! Yep a new word has been born! They also have chocolate lava cake and caramelized homemade cheesecake, tiramisu and an apple skillet if you have the room. I loved it, It is gourmet Italian food at it’s finest, the service is wonderful and you leave here stuffed but with a smile on your face telling yourself you will be back! One of the most completely satisfying dining experiences I have had in a long time.
