They now have champurrado, a Mexican hot chocolate drink made with corn flour and cinnamon… very yummy. The Taco Truck has knocked it out of the park!

Late nite craving hit and these tacos are the only answer! The tacos are alway consistent, the steak nice and crispy, the salsa is spicy in a really good way, etc. This time my husband got grilled onions and grilled jalapeños, so flippin’ good! Next time I want to try the cesina, looked good.

Located in the parking lot of Supermercado Joliet on Collins & Cass this taco truck is one of the most authentic spots for cheap but good tacos! But they also grill whole chickens outside as well wich u can go inside store and find. So good!

3.5 stars Its a very small food truck that’s next to a used car dealership. Selection couldn’t be any more basic as I only recalled seeing tacos(bistek, chorizo, al pastor, and chuleta) on the sign. I assume that tacos were $ 2 each as my 2 steaks and 2 porks came to $ 8.30. Service wasn’t as bad as I’d imagine and the guy there spoke English. Tacos were good but not great. There was something dry about them that kinda turned me off and the $ 2 price was high for the east side, which goes to show you how cheap you can get Mexican fare in the area. Limes and green hot sauce(stored in a zip lock bag) were included. Don’t get me wrong, this place isn’t bad but my expectations were pretty high going in. However, there’s better and cheaper options nearby, that’s all that I’m saying.

To be honest, I’m not sure this place even has a name but Rico’s Tacos is what I see posted on the back of this silver taco truck parked in the lot behind the grocery store on the corner of Cass and Collins so we’ll go with that. Nothing fancy here — just simple, tasty tacos at the right price. There are about 8 choices of meat which is served on two tiny tortillas and topped with excellent salsa, chopped onion and cilantro with a side of lime. You can’t beat the price at $ 1 each. They have elote too and at one point had roasted chicken but I’m not sure they are still serving that. If you’re with someone who wants something other than tacos just send them across the parking lot to El Burrito Loco. There is always a line here with good reason. They have the best tacos ever according to the man and friends.
