We stayed here only because all places in Eugene were already booked. There’s nothing special and our experience turned out to be creepy. When our family of four arrived, we checked in, deposited our bags and went to Eugene for dinner. When we got back, it was apparent that someone had been in our room. Nothing was missing and we were leaving on an early flight the next morning, so we just shrugged it off. Also, our room was right next to the office. Anyway, we were all in bed, watching tv at about 8:30 pm when there was a knock at the door. Before anyone could get to the door, we could hear a key turning in the lock. There was no additional privacy locks. I answered the door and the guy on duty said” I was just checking to see if you needed towels” I said no and he left. But then the rest of the night we were all a little freaked wondering if someone would be trying to enter while we were there. We were all relieved to be leaving early the next morning.

We stayed at the last minute here, grad weekend for OSU and UO and our regular spot in Eugene(12 miles away) was twice the price. Pleasantly surprised by the Western Motel, don’t let the location or the parking lot scare you — times are tough for Junction City. It’s at the junction of Hwy 99, quick to Corvallis or Albany, and there is a railroad track right behind it, but the room was quiet, sure you will hear some traffic and the train does blow as it approaches, but it is no more than one finds at the Hilton… The room was clean, big; the bathroom palatial(in our room). Fridge, microwave, coffeepot, the smallest TV still made(you’re not staying for the TV are you?), and screaming fast WiFi. The people who run it are very nice and the price was fantastic. No frills but a great bargain! Right across from Safeway with a Starbucks if you need that comfort.
