We had a dilemma, family in for a visit over lunch, water view was a must, pregnant neice a concern. I wanted her to be comfortable, no long wait, no standing around… figured the crab house would fit t h e bill. It did, seats by the rail, in shade, great view of ol Jupiter. The meal was good too… does that sound surprising? I went with fried scallops, nice portion, nit overly fried. My w I feel went with shrimp scampix I cleaned it up. Good stuff, as it should be prepared too. The number of shrimp was unexpected, quite a few. Not overly garlicked. The key lime was balanced. Thx.

We get a weekend off from a busy city to get relaxed . The food was good I did like it. But I get disappointed wen the waiter start touching a Pomerania dog and then go to different tables, he is not the one that bring you food but he does the drinks. Please if your policy is ok with pets I DORECOMMENDSTRONGWASHYOUR hands. That is the reason I give 3 stars

We have been going to the Rustic Inn in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for more than 30 years with NO problems. We just found out that they opened one in Jupiter, Florida and we went there Saturday, June 4, 2016. This place is a very, very poor imitation of the one in Ft. Lauderdale. Poor service, warm beer, cold food, orders not filled correctly, NO paper or even paper placemats on the table. Just the bare tables. Surly«manager» Under NO circumstances will we return to the Jupiter location. We will continue to go to the one in Ft. Lauderdale however.

Decided to treat my mom to lunch for her birthday a week or two ago, and she was desperately craving a Mahi sandwich with a view of the water(very specific request, I know). The atmosphere at this place is perfect — plentiful outdoor seating that overlooks the intercoastal, with a lovely view of the lighthouse. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty — we were seated right away and helped almost immediately. Two things of note — we both got the Mahi sandwich and agree that they needed a little TLC and doctoring — they came out a bit plain tasting. I added some extra tartar sauce, requested hot sauce, then added salt and pepper on top of that, and it ended up being a good sandwich. Nice serving size as well. The server was also sort of curt. Very to the point, no conversation or smiles really. It felt like she didn’t want to be there, and that she was sort of going through the motions. She was an older career waitress, and every restaurant has them. She seemed like she’d fit better in a TGI or a diner of some sort. I feel sort of bad, because the waitress taking care of the other table seemed awesome — she was talking about school, offered lots of smiles, was taking pictures for the family, and spent extra time on details and set up for their crab legs entrée. Is it a little creepy that I noticed all of this? Maybe — but I used to be a server, so I can’t help but see things like that! We left feeling satisfied overall — at the end of the day, it was a nice afternoon on the water. =-)

I am amazed at a lot the bad reviews. I had the opposite experience. Easy to park. Awesome views and great service. The dungeness garlic crabs were very good. My wife had that. I had the blackened grouper and it was spiced right. Not too crazy about the sides. I’ll be back, however.

Two stars because the beer was cold. Worst lobster roll we ever had. Conch chowder was OK but asked for sherry and got red wine vinegar. Service should be more than delivering your plate. Pass this one up.

This was my first time here and I will never return. I know it’s a crab restaurant but I didn’t want crab. I wanted salmon and they were out. I ordered the grouper which was of poor quality. It taste like rubber and the portion was quite small. My husband ordered the crab and steak. His steak was so tough he had to bite it with his fingers. The crab was very few and barely okay. I think the locals enjoy it because that’s all they know. Oh, I also ordered a sangria which tasted like water. I was so pissed to pay this bill, I could have went to red lobster and had a better experience. They are receiving a 1 star because I’m forced to. Let the record reflect it should be a –7.

I attended a fund raiser for the local theater last night at The Rustic Inn. I was going to pass but figured since they have been open over a year maybe they had improved since my last visit. No such luck. The group I was with had a fairly large room that was SOHOT. People were sweating just sitting or standing still. The performers were drenched with sweat. It was unpleasant and very overcrowded. They offered a few finger foods but we did not eat them because of the heat — who knows if the seafood had turned. We had drinks at the bar. It was 93 degrees so the ice melted quickly. Between our first round of drinks and the second their computers went down. They could not open the cash drawer, they could not run a credit card, the bartenders were guessing at tax and making deals with people because they could not give change. They assured us that the link would be restored so we got a table by the water and figured we would take a stab at a meal. A big chunk of the menu is «market price» which really should say«we’ll tell you when you are paying». We decided to get appetizers for the group instead of meals. One person got clams — 3 of one kind, 3 of another — she said they were ok, not great, just ok. She also got a small dinner salad which they forgot. My daughter got chicken fingers and fries — we had to request honey mustard 3 times. I ordered a salad with shrimp which was ok. I also ordered the Old Bay Spiced Shrimp — this was totally gross. They did not de-vein the shrimp and it felt like it had been under a heat lamp. The fourth person in our party ordered frog legs and alligator, he said the frog legs were not fresh. He also ordered calamari which others agreed was the best item that arrived at the table. The service was slow and we had to ask for items multiple times. It was 8:00 and very slow on a Tuesday night, there should not have been any delay or wait. I think I need to just keep driving by this place.

Five shrimp good to go. I can’t comment on any other food but the outside sitting area and outside bar is great. Just a perfect area to have lunch or a few beers next to the water. Check it out great outdoor area. Thanks Joe. C

Really cute place.. Love the marina watching all the boats come by. As well that beautiful light house. Food had some Alligator with some frog legs. Pretty tasty little gamy but I enjoyed it. Frog legs taste like chicken wings. For Dinner I had the Mahi mahi grilled. Flavor was amazing.. I washed it down with a jalapeños margaritas.. Very enjoyable evening..

We were finally able to visit Rustic Inn and give them a second chance. To be honest, we received a gift certificate from the restaurant a few months ago because the manager had reached out to us and asked us to give them a second chance. I’m so glad we did, because we had a much better experience this past Saturday. Since it’s season, we made reservations ahead of time for 4 of us. From the moment we walked in, it felt like a completely different restaurant from the last time we were there. The place was actually pretty packed, compared to it being mostly empty last year. We started off with the combo of frog legs and fried alligator. This was a fun appetizer for the 4 of us, especially because we were surprised at how much we liked both items. For our entrees, our friends both got the Skippers Platter, my husband got the Surf and Turf for the crew, and I got the Shrimp Fra Diavolo. All of our portions were huge — like really huge! As in, my pasta lasted me 3 meals! I really wish I had taken a picture! While the crab on my pasta was kind of a disappointment because it took too much work for the amount of crab in the little legs, everything thing else tasted good and fresh. My husband and friends enjoyed the steak and ribs that came with their meals, just as much as the seafood portions. Overall, we had a good experience with good service and great food with giant portions. Not to mention the view is always amazing on the water across from the lighthouse. I can’t say that this will be a regular spot for us, but definitely a top option when craving seafood!

Came in tonight to have dinner with the Family and have been here before. Today was horrible. First off we ordered corn bread with the meal to start off and after 35 minutes she brings the meal with the cornbread. I told the waitress’s to take the cornbread back as of this point it out with our meal, she acted like I was wrong for asking her to take it back. After all that i go to take a bite of my medium well steak as the lobster I ordered she did not bring our cause issues in the kitchen as she says. Well the steak was so hard and over cooked. Tried the potatoes and they were Also out of the fridge cold. After 10 minutes she brings my lobster and guess what that was also refrigerator cold. At this point I stopped earthing and asked for the manager. After another 20 minutes he comes out to see how he can make it better. As I told him at this point all my family had eaten the gold potatoes and the crabs without getting butter cause the waitress did not bring any out and I didn’t want anything. Moral of the story is this place is hit or miss. Beware and come with the warning that it might be a good experience or a real horrible one.

Wow, just wow! You want seafood? This is THEPLACE to go! Plenty of places say that they have seafood, but only have a one sided men of calabash style fried seafood. We had 1.5 lbs of Alaskan King cooked to perfection, Steamers were amazing, 2lb whole lobster, Gator bites, Frog Legs, Old Bay Shrimp, shrimp ceviche, and plenty of drinks… Our total bill was less than $ 200! Fed and drank for 3 for that price with quality food? Impossible! They killed it! Service was great and it was beautiful to sit right on the Inlet with views of the water, boats and the Jupiter Lighthouse! Highly recommend this!

We’ve been to the original one in Fort Lauderdale and could not have been happier — except for the long wait to be seated. So this time we decided to have lunch to avoid the crowds. There is plenty of parking. Great location on the water with beautiful views. Sit inside or outside — — your choice. We ate light — — crab cakes, garlic bread, fried calamari, and famous garlic crabs(because it was lunch, just a pound of crabs). Crab cakes were ok. The garlic bread was full of garlic chunks, but was a bit salty. The calamari was very, very good. And the garlic crabs were also very, very good — but that’s why they are famous. We took some nice photos after eating. Looks like a great happy hour. We’ll be back again or maybe back to Fort Lauderdale. Enjoy.

Sorry to say, the dining room felt a bit like a cafeteria. Our server was sweet, but the restaurant was obviously understaffed, and I thought the service was a little inattentive. The food was okay/good. Restaurant seems to be working out kinks, definitely not a well oiled machine. Probably would not return.

Came here with my parents during happy hour we got a great seat right at the water front the view was excellent. Judging By all the benches at the front door and reading the ratings, the wait here during peak hours must be incredible We were seated right away and friendly hostess desk greeted us My parents being wintertime locals to the Jupiter market have been here before. They have been here even before when it was a forest Gump Bubba’s shrimp restaurant. We had a conch spicy salad. Conch chowder was spicier then the citrus cilantro salad version. The chowder was a five the salad a four The NE clam chowder was worth the money as well Most of us got crabs, the good kind! The Alaska king are the most accommodating to get into and the snow crabs are the tastiest. If your into the variety then you can order the mixed platter but the tastes texture and time it takes to get to the meat will probably disappoint. Eating crabs takes time and half of your meal is going to end up cold. The garlic sauté is amazing and makes a filthy mess of your hands I’ve read some negative reviews and some of it is about cold food but it can take and hour to eat crabs and that is not talking or Unilocaling I have eaten a LOT of crabs in my life. I’ve caught crabs as a kid. This place has great crabs but get here early and enjoy the experience as it is meant to be Their success is no accident but it sounds like it has it’s detractors judging from the reviews I would give 4.5 stars. I think the experience would be helped with more interaction with management but I’m rounding up to help over come some poor reviews.
