Our Maui KFC brings me nothing but disappointment and frustration. My husband went through the drive thru tonight and ordered by meal numbers, only to find out later that the staff decided to change their menu a day in advance but not honor the changes. When he saw that the meals he received were incorrect, he brought it to their attention and initially they refused to honor his request. After going back and forth with several different employees, the manager finally fixed the problem, which is what should have happened from the get-go. Additionally upon arriving home he discovered that our soda cups were only ¾ full and some of them didn’t have any ice. I tried to call the store to let them know they needed to get a grip on themselves, but the line was busy. I wish we had other chicken franchises here, because I really hate all the problems we experience at this branch.

I ordered food through the Drive Thru. I paid for my food, and SANDRA the drive thru clerk told me to park in the parking lot, because our order would take a little time. I drive forward, and there is no access to the parking lot which is on the left side of the building. A big sign says no left turn. I had to make a right turn onto Wakea, then drive one block down to the Midas Station where I had to pull in and make a u-turn. I had to wait to make a left turn back onto Wakea, then make another left back into the KFC lot. Everybody local knows Wakea traffic in this area sucks. Thanks Sandra! If I had known there was no access to the KFC lot via the drive thru, I would have gotten my money back! Sandra you just cost the remaining KFC money, because I will never come back!!!

At 11:22am they don’t have anything ready. They don’t normally have wings extra crispy so there is always a wait. The deal bucket on weekends is dark meat only but they don’t tell you unless you ask. Lastly we asked for breasts and got thighs.

Horrible service food is old no white meat but offered to replace it with rib meat? Didn’t know we sold that as white meat but ya didn’t put cover on mashed potatoes so that took a ride in my bag workers are rude been eating there since the 80’s but quality and service is gone won’t be going there again sad that it was a place we use to go so often from kids days

Maui’s first and lone-surviving KFC is this old faithful location. ATMOSPHERE: It’s an older restaurant with drive thru. The inside is clean. FOOD: 3 Piece Meal — I opted for the grilled style(drum, thigh & breast with mashed potatoes, biscuit and coleslaw.) I knew the grilled style is awesome, but what surprised me was how soft & juicy the breast piece was. Unbelievable! Total yum. Famous Bowl — The portion size was bigger than I had imagined. A mountain of mashed potatoes topped with cheese, corn, gravy, and bits of boneless Original Recipe chicken. It was a tad salty but still pretty good. I still prefer the traditional combo meals but this is great if you’re on the go. SERVICE: Staff are friendly.

2 ½, sometimes 2 ¾ stars! The old cliché — beggars can’t be choosers — may apply! There aren’t many good places on Maui for fried chicken. Minit stop serves miniature chicken and Safeway is hit and miss. Foodland is sometimes okay, but you have to get it fresh or you’ll be chewing chicken jerky for dinner! KFC used to be pretty good, but lately, the product has been consistent. Consistently oily and soggy! You can tell it’s fresh because it’s hot, but it seems the crew anticipates an overload of customers, fries the chicken and immediately stores it in Warmers. When you come in for a large order, these warming pieces are soaking up the oil it’s sitting in and wah Lah. Sometimes I wonder if the prices are so high because they charge for the oil we get too! And the service! I usually go drive thru. When you have coupons, especially ones emailed from the Hawaii office and the employees don’t seem to know about it and begin arguing with you, something’s wrong. Most of the younger employees are fine, but there’s one older lady, one of the crew supervisors, who always seems to be waiting to challenge you with her trademark frown. She’s the one who usually yells something in Filipino to the other employees if she’s upset about something or someone. She’d probably yell at the Colonel if he drove through with a coupon! Please, someone, open a Popeyes fried chicken on Maui!!!

I do not know what went wrong but this was the worst day(Aug 13, 2013) to go to KFC. No white meat bone out chicken, white meat bone in will take 25 minutes and dark bone out takes 7 minutes. When you get the bone out dark meat its fried too long, too crispy and not original plus the grease must have been 42yrs old! And leaving a comment on the website was a joke!!! Bad KFC! Da Colonel is rolling over in his grave with SHAME!

I must admit I’ve always been a KFC addict from way back when. A few years ago, their product started to go downhill… chicken was undercooked… greasy(original). I started ordering the Extra Crispy which I thought solved all the problems with(the) original, but that too started to get greasy and the extra crispiness wasn’t so «extra». Alas, the Boneless seems to be the BEST of them all. You pay a little more, but it’s worth it!

Not sure if it’s just me, but every time I go there, I almost never get Breasts. My bucket is filled with wings, more wings, some thighs and some drumsticks. Does that equal up to the amount I’m paying for a bucket? Hummm. I usually go drive through so you don’t take notice until you’re at home and open the lid. So this time I went inside one night, same thing happened. Plus, Board of Health would site them for having open containers of chips, coffee mug, container of seeds or candy next to the dip pan for the fries. You can’t see it from the drive through but if you walk inside it was all there. I told the cashier that they not supposed to have that there and she ignored me so I took a picture but didn’t know where I can email it too, but I posted it on my facebook! I say it’s not made for wheelchair cause their doors does not open automatically and the entery from outside is a slight up hill.

Sometimes you just need some chicken. Mainlanders will be surprised at the cost of your average bucket, but all food is more expensive in Maui. We actually like the colonel’s original recipe chicken, but find the KFC in Lahaina to be reprehensible. So sometimes when we are over the pali we stop here for good chicken and good biscuits.
