I never really ventured into this place since it opened a few years back. It wasn’t until the start of this year that I went to get the full experience. I always passed it while traveling on Wakea Avenue and always saw their parking lot full of cars but just didn’t go in. Then one evening, with the coaxing of my sister, we went to get some dinner. The first thing that greets you is their hot food section. To the right is their eating area and to the left is their market. I’m going to concentrate on their food. With at least 20+ entrée choices this place pretty much offers everything you could be hungry for in Filipino food. Rice or noodles, then your choice of entrée(s). You can also get single servings of your favorites. They do take-out or you can enjoy your meal at their eating area. Heck, they even cater! I always get the pork adobo, pancit and pulehu meat. Everything looks so good but I’m a creature of habit, so this satisfies me anytime! There is also a variety of Filipino desserts which they place in front of the hot food, and by the registers(good marketing plan). We’ve been back for lunch(and of course dinner). This place can get busy but the line usually goes fast. If you’re craving some ONO Filipino food, this to me is the BEST place(it even comes close to what my Grandparents and Dad used to cook!).

Typical Filipino point-point joint near the airport, with indoor seating, a consistent line but not too long, goes fast. Many choices for traditional dishes like lumpia, pancit, sinegang, barbecue, lechon kiwali, dinuguan, pakbet, fried fish, etc. They give nice big helpings, and you can have double scoop rice or half pancit/chow fun, and half-rice. They also had yummy fried banana fritters, warm and sweet and perfect dessert! They are not on the steam table but to the side, wrapped in styrofoam trays, easy to miss. My only disappointment was no hot pandesal. Being vegan, there were no choices for me which I expected. But, if you like traditional homecooked Filipino meal, lots of meat and grease, you will definitely enjoy like my husband and kids did. Hubby was happy his belly was full before flight home.

Went for a late lunch the other day, had the the chopped beef steak and a vegetable dish that lots of fiber and seem very earthy in taste.(I felt the vegetables could have been washed better) I liked the steak and green beans but did not care for veggie dish much of food looked it had been there since the morning. Lots of pork choices since I don’t eat pork can’t comment on dishes. Staff where fairly friendly a co worker suggested going when the food is fresh in the morning. A ok but far from special.

Eat here 3 – 5 times in 2weeks or order entrée’s for dinner at home. The food is awesome and the amount the woman put in the plate is even BETTER! 5 Star for the food and stuff cuz this review is for the hot food line… But I’d give the grocery area a 1 – 2 stars I always come in and order food and grab a drink first from the refrigerated drinks area and I usually get welcomed by a Dead fly on the top of the cans because we always purchase Arizona Green Tea with our plate lunches. After seeing it a couple of times we started just buying drink at Minit Stop on the way over to the Supermarket. Other than that foods awesome I come mainly for the food.

If it looks good I order it and chow. Always good food. Then buy pinoy desserts to go and other groceries to take with us to the Westin Kaanapali Resort. On the way to Hana stop at Paradise and eat then drive on. After Sunrise viewing in Haleakala On the way back stop at Paradise and eat and then go home. Our last meal in Maui is Paradise. We see this place about 4 – 5 times in our 14 day vaca. CAUTION: if you love Filipino food but a microphobe then take it to go… ORIF you are a real microphobe do yourself a favor go to McDonalds. It’s the tropics and in a dive place well there are flies and other bugs. You’ve been warned!

I’m a California Native that lives in a Filipino populated city. Needless to say there is lots of delicious Filipino food at any moment. Vacationing on Maui, hubby was craving Filipino food and received this recommendation from the locals. Portions and authenticity was good! Friendly service! BUT if you are sensitive to flies, this may not be a good option for you. Otherwise lots of food choices, friendly Filipino faces, and lechon! I give it 4 stars for the food and 2 for the ambience.

This is probably the best place on the rock to get your Filipino shopping list done. From prepared foods, to snacks, ingredients, and household goods. LOCATION: Wakea Avenue, north side, between Alamaha & Hoohana. ATMOSPHERE: It’s a mini supermarket full of Filipino goods with a hot food line and small inside seating area. FOOD: Pancit — A mix of clear & yellow noodles with meat & canned(bleh) mushrooms. The flavor is on the light side but nothing soy sauce can’t help. Chicken Adobo — They use drumettes, which I love due to their bone and skin… Yum! In the past the flavor was very over-powered by vinegar, but has since been tamed down. Pork & Peas — Great flavor, tender pork but there were hardly any peas. Mongo Beans — Ahh my favorite dish here! It’s a thick, flavorful soup made with chicken, bitter melon, garlic, onions and a whole lotta love. Chopped Steak — This is delish! It’s a twist on the local chopped steak as it comes with crunchy green beans, red bell peppers, and onions. Savory goodness… SERVICE: The staff are very friendly and fast. TIP: There seems to be a small fly problem. I passed on the pancit my second time around because it’s sitting out in the open with flies circling. They don’t seem to land on the hot dishes. OVERALL: Great food, good prices, mainstream portion sizes.

I was really excited to visit this place again this coming July knowing that back in 07 i had the best pansit right on this place… But reading the reviews on Unilocal makes me feel kinda iffy about this place… I will not let my emotions get in the way and go with my heart and tummy when i visit the island again this July…

The service was horrible. They don’t have a line so it seems like they help who ever they choose to help. Also it’s pretty gross that they have flys flying around the food.

It was a delight to be pointed by at least 4 different people to this place during my Maui vacation. It was my last day and in a way it worked out for my health, because otherwise I’ll be here a lot! First, I’ve never seen such a wide variety of Filipino food on display. It must be at least 25 different dishes! It was overwhelming. I chose the string bean with squash, pancit canton and lechon with Mang Tomas sauce and ate on the spot. I wanted to order them all, but the portions were large, I could only eat half of what they already gave. I probably ate too much too fast, or had too much grease(the lechon) because I felt sick afterwards. The food was very authentic and made no excuses for the amount of fat and salt. Makes you wonder if it would ever be possible to use healthier ingredients in Filipino food without sacrificing flavor.

This is our go to spot on the way back to the airport. The chicharrones make the mad rush to the airport totally worth it. The roast pork is delicious too. Much better than whatever airline food is waiting for you!

This is my go to place for Filipino food. BESTFILIPINOFOODONTHEISLAND! I have NEVER had a bad experience there. Yes, the ladies are a little rough around the edges(I think it’s a cultural thing), but they are still very efficient in what they do. I work in healthcare, so cleanliness is a must. I’ve never gotten sick after eating there and I haven’t personally seen anything that would raise any flags. Lechon w/the tomato and onions. yum! pumpkin and shrimp… even yummier! Best pancit ever! When I’m sick, the chicken papaya is my cure all. Big portions(a 2 choice will last me 2 meals) and big flavors.

Anybody reading the owners responses to the negative reviews??? When I see someone making that many excuses or blaming customers, makes me really not want to patronize, no matter how desperate I may be! Roger, wake up! It’s not a personal attack on you, it’s criticism about your business and things you can do to better it! Instead of responding with excuses, try responding with possible solutions so people will want to try your business again! Because you respond so negatively, I, and my large family, will choose to patronize your competitors instead! Remember, you’re not the… Read more

Since the owner wanted some clarification. Here ya go: — The lady that handles the cash register and the money from my dirty shorts(lol) is ALSOTHESAMELADYTHATHANDLESTHEFOOD. No gloves, no hand washing, no antibacterial. dohhhh!(I admit that there was also another lady working the floor, but she was busy trying to fix the soda fountain’s broken carbonator.) — we requested a fried egg on the side to go along with our longunisa and guess how long that took to make? — - it took 10 – 15 minutes to make ONEFREAKINEGG! Considering there weren’t even any customers ahead of us, that’s an ETERNITY when the other people in our party already have their food. come on man! — Owner says that their«oily» dinuguan is how ilocano dinuguan is supposed to be bc of the ingredients/meat. I eat ilocano dinuguan(aka Dinardaraan) all the time. It SHOULD look like this . BUT in actuality, this is how it is served: . kinda like tagalog style, but instead of sauce, it is oil.(come on man. tryin to school a dark Filipino guy on ilocano dinuguan.) — Take my review for whatever it’s worth, but I would Unilocal other spots before settling for this one. *******Below is my previous review«unhidden» for your consideration******* Came here to grab some food before the Road to Hana. Had their Dinoguan and it was ehhhhhhhh. Super oily and big pieces of fat. I would steer clear of this place. Service was terrible for a Filipino spot. Usually, I am greeted with smiles and an «Aloha/Good Morning» at a Filipino spot, but here… it’s like«Oh. Ano gusto mo?» smh

Found this little gem via Unilocal while in Maui. A totally non-descript supermarket in a random strip, about a mile from the airport. Supermarket part is nothing special. But they also serve hot filipino food — some of the best I’ve had. Pancit was off the hook, chicharron and lechon were tasty, even this pumpkin dish was amazing. Portions are very generous and prices are cheap. It’s definitely a little dingy inside… but honestly, I wasn’t grocery shopping. Went there to try the food and left happy!

My first time eating Filipino food(except for one dish my aunt makes called adobo). I was very excited and a bit hesitant because I really did not know what the other dishes would look like. In the end, I think I like my aunts adobo better, BUT, the other 2 meats I tried and the stir fried noodles were awesome. And now I know what Filipino food really tastes like. It was all very good. Giving it 5 stars because I really think people should experience this place. Not the cleanest place in the world, but the food was great.

Landed in Maui, jumped off the plane ready to kiteboard, but first we must fuel up. Pulled out my handy Unilocal app to find a quick and close bite to eat. This supermarket/Filipino deli style place was a perfect find. The offered a good variety of dishes as super reasonable prices. My husband had the fish, my friend had chicken, and I had the beef and vegetables, all served with pancit and/or rice. The entrees were all very flavored and delicious!!! The servings were HUGE, I think the three of use could have easily shared one plate. Service here was great, everyone here is on Hawaiian time, very patient as we were overwhelmed with the selection of food, took us a while to decide what we wanted. i will definitely come back on my next trip back to Maui!

While soaking up the sun at baby beach… sis said she’s craving Filipino food. She pulled out the iPhone and went on Unilocal and lo and be hold, this spot was the first on the list. Packed up and soaked with sand and sticky salt water… we trekked from Lahaina to Kahului. We pulled onto their drive way and upon walking in… sis and I were automatically transported to our childhood days in P.I. It was amazing(yes, it’s been ages since we both came back home so humor me with this review!) I think I can say this… and I will say this… this is the best Filipino store I’ve been too compared to the«main» land. They have everything! They have the«turo-turo» food that you can eat in the store or take home. Like most reviews, they specialized on Ilocano dishes. My family and I had the three item food… I got the following: ginataan sitaw kalabasa, lechon kawali, and daing na bangus(my fave!) and I went to town… well not really… just with the veggies and the fish. I ate some of the lechon but seeing the fat and all… I stopped. Most of the dishes were ok … a little heavy on the oil but it is what it is. Not going to discuss what the fam had b/c it’ll take forever… but we ate and grubbed… mission accomplished. We then headed to shop and boy oh boy… we created a lot of damage. Sis and I just kept piling stuff on the cart… Milo… pan de coco… puto… curly tops! My nephew’s nanny got the stuff to make turon(lumpia like with banana inside) = we were all happy campers! So… if you’re craving Filipino food and need goodies… this is definitely the spot. ENJOY!
