This is for my Canadian friends because when you factor in the exchange rate, you might cringe at the thought of spending close to $ 20(current exchange rate) for a large cup of fruits and granola. This small little shop does a good job of making it taste good and with the granola, it can be filling for a few hours and make for a good breakfast before you headoff for your activities. The Acai berry is suppose to be part of the«super food» group and because of this new marketing trend, you will be paying super prices. To be fair, I suppose you can make an argument everything in Hawaii is expensive and while that is mostly true, I’m ambivalent on having to spend this much for a cup of fruits, even though it tasted very good.

Really good acai fruit bowls. The small is quite large, and it’ll cost you — $ 11 — but it’s worth it. Super duper yummy. I got the Kilauae, with gogi berries and bee pollen.

**Currently here watching them make my bowls as I type** I love that we can see them make the bowl, cuts out all the monkey business When I used to just visit big island, I would always drive by and make a mental note in my head to stop by here since I love acai bowls. But somehow it never worked out. Somehow. Lol So we are here. I purposely didn’t eat any meals before hand because Acai bowls make me full. 7 minutes later, I got my bowl! *happy dance* Took my first bite and I was not disappointed!!! The Acai itself was so good, I would’ve been happy without any toppings. I ordered the small sized Waterman Bowl– the acai was blended with cashew milk(yum yum!) and then it was topped with granola, pineapple, blueberries, almonds(it’s normally topped with cashews but I subbed for almonds), coconut shavings, and honey. I added bananas for an extra dollar. I finished my ENTIRE bowl in 10 minutes. I love that their bowls are realistically sized~ I’ll be coming backing for sure! I took a photo of the menu, but all in all my bowl was $ 12. Not bad at all for a good acai bowl!!! **small space, not good for groups. No bathroom**

Small little shop on top of Snorkel Bob’s. If you’re taking the Trolley, it’s the Coconut Grove Shopping Center stop, so it’s super easy to get to in the downtown area. The staff is friendly & even though it may be busy when you go, the service is quick. I recommend whatever you do, order a LARGE because even though it’s big, you’ll eat it all! I’ve only tried the Puna Bowl and it was delicious! The café isn’t fancy, but there is a nice view of the ocean from the café. My advice is take your bowl and walk a bit, & you’ll be right on the beach; how perfect is that! Now those who complain about the price, sure, acai bowls can be expensive, but they’re expensive EVERYWHERE because of the cost of the acai, and when you get a large it’s HUGE!!! Oh, dont forget they do have ways to customize your bowls with extras on their menu, so dont be shy! Quality, taste, service is all here at this place and I’m super excited to find out they opened one in my hometown of San Francisco, so I’ll definitely try them there too. For all you acai bowl lovers, you won’t be disappointed!

I cannot justify the price. They price their bowls as a meal, not as a treat and most of it is granola. Even with that in mind, it just seems like a lot. $ 19 for two smalls. Yup. Here’s the concept: Acai«smoothie» coated bowl filled with granola, topped with more acai smoothie and then additional fruit/nut toppings. They have great quality ingredients, everything is made fresh. Signs denote that each bowl takes about 2 minutes to make and I would say that is accurate which may contribute to the lines. Will not return. Notes: Not accessible, all stairs and very little space up top. Cramped parking lot.

I stayed in Kona for a week and came to Basik literally everyday for an acaí bowl. How are they so delicious?! Do yourself a favor and get the large. Trust me, you’ll finish it. The Puna Bowl was my favorite!

Came here on a whim while adventuring on the Big Island. This store located on the second floor with a small landing off of Alii Drive. This place only sells acai and smoothies which worked out great for us as we wanted a small breakfast. From the second floor, there’s an amazing view of the ocean. Now back to the food, I got the The Drifter, small which came with strawberries, almonds, cacao shavings, granola, and bananas. It was so delicious! The acai was amazing! The fruits fresh as fresh as can be! And the cacao shavings were drops of joy! It made the sweet acai a little less sweet, but more savory :) My friends got the smoothie, puna bowl(they loved it), and Kilauea(mango-licious). I recommend those too! Actually I recommend the entire menu! Haha. Oh the large is very big! If I get a chance to come back to Kona, I’m definitely coming back!

Super cool spot. the mornings get super crowded though and you may have a line weaving its way all the way down the stairs. it is open until 4pm and from 2 – 4 is the best time to come because there are very few people crowding up the place. the bowls are all so different and from 8 – 11 dollars for the small version. they are all to-go but there are a couple bar stools you can grab if youre lucky. it is upstairs from Bobs Snorkle shop. pricey. crowded. but amazing!

Definitely a favorite Acai place on the BI! It’s just up the stairs to this tight, lil’ place that has killer ocean view! The staff here are awesome and all the bowl’s are great. My favorites are the Puna Bowl and Waterman(even better when coconut shaving’s are available!). Would’ve given this place a full five-star, but just last week they raised their prices a few bucks! I’m on a budget, but dang, why they gotta leave me craving for more! :C *If you’re from North Cali, they got a Basik place in the SF area too!*

Holy acai bowls, Batman! These bowls were exactly what we needed on a humid and hot morning. I ordered the regular ‘ol Brazilian bowl and my boyfriend got the Kilauea bowl. I wish I had gotten his! The frozen goji berries were just icing on cake… or I guess toppings on the bowl? My only complaint is that they really limit the amount of acai you get. One scoop just isn’t enough! Give the people some more! They do however make up for it by adding a lot more toppings than I usually see on acai bowls. Also, these bowls do cost a pretty penny; if you’re a person that needs more food in the morning I suggest going elsewhere. However, Basik Café has one of the best acai bowls I’ve ever had so I would suggest to splurge a little and get a large to fill you up ;)

This is an awesome place to come hang out, relax, and enjoy a beautifully composed acai bowl! Basik Café is an outdoor, ~8 seater located on the 2nd floor of a snorkel shop. Menu is small, just a few choices of different acai bowls and smoothies. I had The Drifter acai bowl that has cacao nibs, which give an awesome crunch to the bowl. Their acai blend isn’t super sweet, which I appreciate. Come have an acai bowl and enjoy it with a beautiful view of the Pacific in the background!

Small 9,50 $, large 13,95 $
