Loved the ice cream, locally made in Waimea. I had the salted caramel macnut and coconut. We’ll be back before we leave the island.

Don’t go on a Monday Tuesday or Wednesday! They’re closed. Lol other than that they are really good annoying hours though.

Had a craving for shave ice and ice cream and this was where we ended up. Very small shop, prices were so-so, but the ice cream and shave ice was very good. The lady putting my medium shave ice together, kept piling ice upon ice upon ice until I couldn’t believe how big it was getting. Of course, once she patted it down and put the syrup in, it wasn’t so big anymore, but that meant I got a healthy does of ice and she complimented it with enough syrup to make every bite a good one. Hubby got the macadamia nut ice cream and I may have to go back here again just to have this. It was some of the creamiest ice cream I have ever had, chock full of mac nuts. It was really good and we both recommend this little shop for the best ice cream and shave ice. The staff was friendly and we thought the prices weren’t horrible.

Tropical Dreams? Yes, please! As soon as I saw they served Tropical Dreams, I knew there was no going back! Tropical Dreams is a local ice cream made on the island and it’s absolutely amazing! Five stars for the ice cream, but two or three stars for the service. There was only one girl behind the counter and she looked absolutely miserable. No smile, no personality, and little patience, which I saw with the customer ahead of me. They also serve shave ice, milk shakes, frozen yogurt and other yummy sweet treats.

Dole whip yogurt is a must have after a long day of snorkeling. I had the Dole Whip swirled with Vanilla. Yummmmmy. Thanks Moo Bettah and Thanks Natalie.

The prices are insanely high, the portions are outrageously small. This made our experience as unfun as it could have been. The seating is limited to 2 booths, and the flavors are so boring! Thumbs down.

The outside doesn’t make the ice cream shop look clean/good, but it is very clean with banging ice cream! Don’t let their outside appearance stop you from eating the ice cream! Macadamia nut ice cream. A lot of nuts and the ice cream itself is amazing, creamy and just amazingly good. Wish I was back in Hawaii for this ice cream. They take credit card as well, which helped us out because we had no cash on us at all.

Great ice cream and variety of flavors!!! Shave ice machine was down when we went in so we couldn’t try, bummer.

As a frequent visitor and recent transplant to the Big Island, I can say I’ve had my fair share of «shave ice». With that being said Moo Bettah makes the best! All of the variables were on point! My husband ordered a small with a scoop of vanilla on the bottom. The flavors although limited, are great picks. He chose half«big stick»(a local orangish popsicle flavor) and pineapple. The girl working was very meticulous putting layers of snow– packing-layers of syrup– then more snow to make for a supremely flavored shave ice! We shared his«small» which was like most mediums other places.(Eehem Scandavian, Hawaiian Flavors). Loved it! Also to mention its inside seating area was very cute and above all very clean! So happy to have found this gem here in Kona!

I absolutely love coming here whenever I’m on the big island. The homemade ice cream is amazing. Try the cheesecake ice cream! But my favorite is definitely the shaved ice. The flavors are really nice and just sweet enough.

I’ve never wanted to make a cow sound until now but moooooo! Homemade local ice cream was like licking heaven. I tried the Kona coffee and the coconut and it was remarkable. We all know my love for coffee, so I was super excited to try Kona coffee and Kona coffee ice cream, and it was delicious. If you’re in Kona make you’re visit moo bettah and treat yourself.

I had been looking for this spot for weeks and finally found it when entering the shopping mall from a different entrance. I wish this place had a larger sign; it’s hard to find. This ice cream is in the Tropical Dreams family but is made with 16% milkfat, rather than 18%. It’s a little less creamy than tropical dreams, but still very tasty. The shop is clean and Debs makes the experience super fun. She gives great samples and suggestions. She is very knowledgable about ice cream and used to work at a very popular place. Now this spot is more«local» and very clean, friendly, and fun. I enjoyed the Mac nut ice cream best. Rocky Road’s great too.

We came for the shave ice but I couldn’t bare to pay what they were asking, so we went with their ice cream. $ 4.95 for a single scoop seemed steep, but what they do is combine up to three flavors and give you healthy sized«slices» of each. The ice cream is by Hilo made, and was really good, with fun flavors. The gal helping us was very sweet and pleasant.

My boyfriend and I came here after having gone to and absolutely loving Scandinavian Shave Ice in Kona. We were the only two customers when we walked in, and the girls behind the counter didn’t greet us or say anything until we asked them if we could order. They were not personable at all, and took quite a while to make our shave ice with no other customers to assist. They also had to take the ice in the back to add flavor, which seemed kind of weird to us. The flavor in the ice also didn’t even go all the way through to the center, so about two-thirds of the way through eating we got to plain ice. On top of that, we thought it was over-priced to begin with. We were not happy at all, and were so disappointed with the experience that we went back to Scandinavian Shave Ice the next day to make sure we got a great experience before we left.

Ok, the flavors have awkward names and they only have 2 flavors. My ice was good and the service was good but I wish for more flavors and mochi for toppings.

On our way to grabbing some groceries at the KTA store nearby, we decided to come to Moo Bettah for a quick treat. The upshot is that you do get a solid amount of ice cream, but the downshot is that it is a bit pricey(2 scoops already puts you at $ 6). That’s pretty much gourmet ice cream/gelato prices, and although I did like the coconut cream pie we had(not overly creamy, but still retaining a sweet, light hint of coconut), the chocolate fudge was not anything remarkable. The worker at the counter was nice enough, but this is pretty much your average ice cream shop that also offers some Hawaiian-inspired flavors and Hawaiian-made ice cream if you’re in the mood.

The ice cream was kind of amazing. Especially the PB Oreo and the Kona Coffee Toffee. YUM. $ 4.25 a scoop? Not so much. But hey, most things here are pricey. Convenient location. Really nice servers.

Really good ice cream. Creamy, great flavor. Quite expensive though at almost $ 5 a scoop. Even better was the shaved ice. The ice is shaved very fine and you can have up to 4 flavors. Really went down easy. The smoothie was good, but not as good as one you’d get at Jamba Juice. It was too sour for my taste. Bottom line: fun place to go on a hot day for a treat.
