The food is always really good. Spicy aioli garlic chicken is amazing. The prices are kinda high for plate lunches but the food is good and it’s fast.

First time here during a 1 day visit. Had the Basic, eggs over easy, rice, wheat toast, and Portuguese sausage. Beat the morning rush. Counter person very nice and food came fast, with a lot of the phone orders that was coming in. Will definitely return.

Yum local eats– real Hawaiian mix plates, great fish and chips and american eats too! Totally worth going back! Café style and lots of locals and workers go there so you know it’s good!

Unfortunately we don’t come here very often but today we were able to make time! One of my favorite plates is the Grandma Yoshino’s hamburger steak. So ono! We got the kid’s meal(2 pc. chicken strips, fries, and a drink) for my son and that was really good! The chicken tasted freshly breaded and fried, unlike most places that use frozen chicken strips! We definitely need to make our way here more often!

This has become our go to local spot for some very good local Hawaiian grub. Had the double cheese burger the other day and it might have been the best burger ever for me on the Big Island-two 8 oz patties of fresh and tasty beef. It’s tucked away in an unassuming mini strip mall half way between the Kona Airport and Costco. The place is always busy and filled with locals-need I say more? Not too expensive, not too fancy, just good food.

Our favorite place to come for lunch when our plane lands. I think their burger is the best we have tasted on the island. My daughter enjoyed the teriyaki chicken with rice lunch. She also loved the Mac salad. I had the avocado blt and it was delicious and made with very fresh veggies and quality/great amount of bacon. Hubby had an ahi sandwich and said it was great! All in all I would highly recommend this place and their quality of food! Not the best view but the food makes up for it in a big way!!!

Totally one of the spots I hit every time I am in Kona, in fact right when I get off the plane, I’ve had the hamburger steak, loco moco, Denver omelette, fried rice omelette, Korean chicken, and still working down the two huge menu boards on the wall. The prices are reasonable, and the crew is really nice people.

Delicious, good prices, and friendly service. Just a warning, their macaroni salad has tuna in it. Korean chicken wings are sweet, savory, and delicious! If you get the chicken katsu you want to ask for extra sauce. The spam misubi was great, about 2.5“x4″ or so.

We were in kona just for the weekend. Just looked up this place on Unilocal and tried. During lunch time on sunday, this place was packed with locals. Great plate lunch. Lots of choices. If you are vegetarian like us, you can still enjoy plate lunch with fish, shrimp or breakfast items. The price is reasonable. Not a great interior but if you don’t like the indoor seating, you can eat at the bench outside. I will go back there on our next trip to kona.

The menu was bit confusing. I thought the omelette was $ 8.5. But ended up they charged $ 10.50, because of two extra protein. We got there around 8am. There was no line. Not too crowded. The portion was huge for breakfast. I could have shared the plate with my friend. The taste of the food was good. The hash brown was delicious. The place was clean and bright.

Terrific place to catch a break to eat. All kinds of selection. Fast service. Easy parking. Lots of locals eat here. You can’t go wrong if you’re looking for a mid day snack. Also if you’re feeding the family the price is right. Right Right right I’d like pass is about 40 times and never seen it. Finally a friend recommended. Great place. It’s not listed under cafes for safe area if you find it you’re one of the lucky ones. Be sure to try the avocado. THEPORTIONSAREGIGANTIC!!!

Ordered the Fried Poke with Furikake and a side of brown rice and salad. I’m not sure if it was because it was the first meal we had in Hawaii or because we had just gotten off the plane, or both, but the poke was delicious. The tuna was very flaky and even though«fried» was in the name of the dish, I was lighter and more flavorful than I had expected. The sauce and furikake seasoning on the top added to the flavor, and there wasn’t too much sauce that it was overwhelming. The café is right next to the airport and it would be a great place to stop by after getting off your flight. Very casual ambiance and not too crowded inside. Many locals stopped by while we were eating, so it’s not just a place for tourists to enjoy! Would highly recommend for a first or last meal on the island, or any time in between. Very fresh and tasty poke, and they give a generous portion of rice as well. Also very convenient stop with lots of parking and a supermarket nearby where you can replenish on all the carry-ons that the airport threw away.

Nice find while visiting Kona. Close to the airport and reasonably priced. I had the Furikake Crusted Ono with Garlic Aioli Sauce — it was really good however I had to ask for another tray because the first order was not full cooked(still raw and I told the girl when I ordered I do not eat raw fish). We also ordered a Korean Chicken plate. Overall will definitely return and recommend.

So glad we looked this place up on Unilocal when looking for a good casual place to eat close to Kona airport when arriving in Kona, only couple miles down the road easy to see from hwy. They have a large menu and also a big board of daily specials, hard to decide. I choose a combo of items I remembered seeing pics, the spicy garlic chicken and fried Ahi poke which came with 2 scoops rice and side salad(I got the mac). OMG!!! Both the chicken and Ahi were to die for!!! I’m still dreaming about it. Both cooked perfectly and so flavorful, gave bites to my daughter and hubby and their faces both lit up as well! NO complaints with my meal, just raves. My hubby ordered the Philly sandwich and was very pleased with it which came with fries and salad, he was happy. My daughters friend ordered a sandwich off the specials board, a pesto turkey/swiss panini which she only planned on eating ½ but ate the whole thing due to it being so darn good, it came with salad/fries as well. My daughter was the only one that wasn’t thrilled with her choice which was a shrimp tempura/veggie rice bowl. It was only 5.00 but it still looked pitiful having 2 skimpy fried shrimp and couple tempura veggies on a small bowl of rice. The rest of us all had hardy orders so we shared with her. Ours makes up for hers, would definately go back and order same thing again and high recommend. Average meal combo’s were about 8 – 12.00

Came here Tuesday right before my flight out of Kona. My mom suggested I go check into my flight and then we go grab food outside the airport before I board my plane. So this place is like 5 – 10 minutes away from the airport and super close. It’s in the shopping center next to a market and coffee shop. You order at the counter, and then they call your name and you pick up at the counter. We ordered: — small Saimin — side of chicken katsu — small loco moco I was surprised for a side of katsu it was $ 6+, but it was delicious! Pretty big portion for a side. I liked the loco moco as well, with plenty of gravy, and I tried some of my mom’s noodles, and that was good as well. I definitely recommend stopping here if you are in need of food near the airport!

This café sits in a plaza about 15 minutes away from the Kona International Airport. They have a huge overwhelming menu selection for great prices. I ordered the lunch portion of the Korean Chicken which cut the price in half and included a side of brown rice & side salad with your choice of dressing. The chicken was so crispy, by far the best Korean chicken I’ve ever had. Around lunch time, expect the wait to be a bit longer since a lot of the locals do stop by on their lunch break.

Totally local ono grindz. I love this«non-touristy» spot because it’s not glitzy or expensive AND the food is fresh. I had my typical Hawaiian breakfast… loco moco. It was redic deeelish. I also tasted the Kalbi beef with rice… ahhhhhh Ono as hell. Next time, I’m ordering the Terri Burger mix plate. Yup. Mahalo

Stopped here twice out of the 3 days I was in Kona, that’s how you know this place is pretty good. LOVE the menu selection! There’s so much delicious food to choose from, it’s quite overwhelming, but at least there is something for everyone to choose from. The 1st day I ordered a Korean mix plate and was not disappointed. The plate consisted of rice, Korean chicken(fried chicken drummets marinated in Korean style sauce), bolgogi, and Kalbi. 5 stars for flavor for their Korean chicken plate and their awesome side salad. I am not a side mac salad person, because I am a weird local who thinks that mayo and macaroni shouldn’t be combined. Therefore, I always ask if it is possible to substitute the mac salad for green salad. I am so thankful that it was allowed because their side salad was 5 stars! I ordered it with a house made oriental dressing(which I would have bought if they sold it, it was that good) and topped off with sprouts, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc. The 2nd day I ordered a Loco Moco… it was ok. Nothing special for me. A five star Loco Moco would consist of a juicy burger, with a lot of flavor from different spices and sauces, bread crumbs, etc added in the hamburger patty mix. This was not the case. The hamburger patty was thin and didn’t really have any taste to it. Tasted like just hamburger with gravy(the brown gravy mix from the store and water) over a bead of rice, topped off with an over easy egg. 3 stars because it was just«ok» not good, but then again, not bad. The service was very fast and friendly and the location was great because it was near the airport. Perfect spot to get a quick bite when you’re coming in or going out Kona. Large parking lot too.

Oh my god that garlic chicken. Get the garlic chicken. It is easily the best«fried chicken» dish I’ve ever had. My wife was still talking about it miles down the road. The loco moco is good too especially on top of fried rice. We also tried the Korean chicken and shoyu chicken, both were good. This place has really great authentic hawaiian food, and the menu is huge so you have a lot of options

WOW this is one great local café the food is unique to Kona but more importantly the side salads are amazing. When you first arrive in Kona it’s only a 10 minute drive and a great place to grab some food and head off to have fun
