I was put off by the sparse décor upon entering but was surprised to find a courteous and polite young woman at the counter. After a short conversation I was almost excited to receive my pizza. I ordered pepperoni expecting it to have a few slices, it was completely loaded and they were all deliciously crispy. I would definitely come back and I would recommend it to locals and tourists alike.

This place hands down has the best hometown feel I’ve ever been associated with. The bartenders are always very friendly accommodating and the place is always clean. The food is exceptionally prepared and delicious. Considering this place has been open since the 1980s I would say that has staying power. Kudos to the owners and all the staff. I also love the fact that they do not discriminate against anyone.

And I love it when one of the many bully bikers attack me on here because of my review… this is exactly the type of behavior I’m talking about. Poor Kalama.

We were in town visiting family over the holidays. Kalama has very few choices of places to dine. We had been to all of them except for this place. We were hungry for pizza and didn’t actually expect too much but we were pleasantly surprised. The pizza was great! They were having a special on their pepperoni pizza and that’s what we had to try. We loved it. I also loved the fact that the pieces were cut in smaller pieces than most places. We will definitely be stopping at this place again and trying a few of their other pizzas.

Simply amazing pizza. I think it’s the best pizza I e ever had in Washington. It’s not fancy and it doesn’t have u inquest toppings. What it does have is quality ingredients and crust. Family owned. Legit place. It’s in my top 5 pizza joints in the country. Cathy whims at Nostrana in Portland is my number one… Just sayin…

This is a fantastic place for pizza, tacos on Thursday and small town drinks. The game is always on and the pool table is always hot

I’m originally from the east coast, so I like New York style pizza, and this is certainly not that. Reminds me a bit of Pizza Hut, and that isn’t a compliment.

Poker Pete’s is the best. Super friendly staff, low key vibe, good prices on beer, solid pizza, and free pool on Sundays. Sure, it’s not always the place to go if you want to rock and roll all night and party everyday, but Poker Pete’s is the perfect place to grab a cold brew with a friend or hear a tale spun by some authentic Kalama locals.

I love this place. 8 dollar pitchers of domestics and free pool all day on Sundays. The staff is always very friendly and I love the vibe of this place. Overall, the bar side is great.

The only time it is safe to order food from here without fear of it being burnt is when there are no young kids cooking(but they are always there), their friends are ALWAYS in there distracting them from the job that they get paid to do, thus burnt pizza. It’s only safe when Kim is cooking, she’s a great lady. And the next door over to the left is their tavern, I have yet to experience that, so I shall not comment on the tavern.

The pizza is fairly good, okay prices, the pops should be refillable, but over all we like the pizza here. Our past four pizzas have been really burnt though, I even asked them not to burn it when I ordered it, it was still very burnt. If I was the owner, personally I’d offer us our money back or something. We’ll probably be back simply because it’s close and convenient.

I have only two good things to say: it’s nearby, and I’ve never gotten food poisoning eating their pizza. Anytime I’ve gone in to pick up a pizza, it’s always smelled a bit odd in the place. The pizza, while not horrendous, is reminiscent to me of school cafeteria fare(before the age of letting Pizza Hut and Papa John’s provide school lunches). Oh, and what’s the deal with cold tomatoes served on the side with a hot(or sometimes warm, here) pizza? I’ve encountered that more places than just Poker Pete’s, and for me, it just makes the pizza that much less appetizing. [Edit: It used to be nearby, when I was living in Kalama; I’ve since moved.]
