Main St Pub

The food is always great. If it’s not, they will fix it and send it back. The salads are delicious. My favorite are all of the wraps! This is my favorite stop in Kalamazoo. They have the best ranch in town. You’ll want to take some home.

Consistently bad, overly salty food. Really nothing redeeming about the place other than plentiful TV’s and cold beer.

food was very good, great choices and service was very good. this was on a friday night around 6pm.

Had not been here in years, and now I remember why… POOR, POOR service. My husband asked the waitress what local craft beers they had on tap and she was like, «um, PBR and something peach» Should have left at that point — this girl hit every stereotype of dumb blondes, and I don’t like to stereotype. My husbands B & B burger was good, which got them 2 stars. Both our fries were nasty, and my half Reuben was in need of mustard, or some type of dressing. Bill was wrong — and did I say the service was really bad?

Pretty good place as far as bar food goes. It’s a decent casual place to hang out and grab drinks. Recently visited for a burger and fries special and was pleased with the food and service.

Over priced, it’s not the Ritz. Just because you put gourmet in front of macaroni doesn’t make it ten bucks. There are many examples of this on the menu.
I liked the service and the atmosphere but the drink and food prices prohibit any further visits.

Nice servers, good food. Owners were assisting servers which I find nice. Food presentation was nice.

I like what this bar has to offer but the fact that management aka «Andrew» tries to accommodate to his friends to be «popular» is just annoying. He didn’t accommodate to customer service at all, and just sat there drinking with his «friends» and didn’t even try to manage what was going on in the bar. I’m sorry that such a great bar has horrible people running it. I deal with customer service all the time so it makes me angry to see customer service, especially coming from a manger that is suppose to run to business like this.

I ordered the Bronco Burger — it was average at best. I don’t think I’ll be back, but it was nice for a non-​chain place to stop at after a day of shopping.

Nice atmosphere. Great service. Bad food. It’s not the cooks fault at all. The cooks prepared what they had to work with as best as they possibly could. This is the only restaurant I have ever been to where I ordered a side of guacamole and they served up the green chemical paste and not real guacamole. I couldn’t believe it. Don’t put guacamole on the menu if your going to serve up this garbage. I paid good money for chicken fajitas… for a low budget burger joint I can understand. But they have nachos and fajitas and Mexican food on the menu and i get the non avocado green sludge your going to market as guacamole and have menu prices thinking I’m going to get quality food? Was gross. Super low budget ingredients abound. If you want to grab a beer and watch a game this place is okay just don’t order any food from this establishment. I tipped the server 30% as usual it isn’t her fault. Never going to go to this place ever again. One star food. Zero star food actually.

Server forgot our appetizer. When we mentioned it, she apologized and offered to buy «us» dessert. I’m not stupid; she isn’t buying us anything. It’s on the restaurant. When «we» (there are four of us) ordered dessert she clarified that she would buy one dessert. Little bait and switch there. I cancelled mine. Currently watching my kids eat dessert.
We’ve been coming to MSP for decades, literally. I’ve been soured a little by this experience.

Great little hole in the wall restaurant.
Dip sandwich is good.
Buffalo chicken flatbread has A LOT of onions and also pepperchinos just know that going in.
Hawaiian BBQ wrap is a nice blend of spice and sweet.
The fries are nice and airy with a good crunch on the outside.
Most of all beer glasses are frosty and the beer is cold. Miller lite is $ 3.25 for 20oz.
Service is good.

Would be a 4 star for the following reasons:
Great bar food. Does sandwiches, burgers and salads well. Good beer selection.
Burgers are fresh and cooked to order. Does take out as well. Reasonably priced, with attentive servers.
But I can’t give Main Street 4 stars, and I hesitate to give 3 stars because of a bad experience. Being in town for a family event, I did not realize that there were multiple locations. I called in a large take out order on the location that Siri pulled up for me on my iPhone. I arrived at the W Main Street location and asked about my order. Immediately, the server at hostess station questioned, «are you sure you called us? people do it all the time,» and then asked for the phone number that i had called. She began laughing and explained in a mocking manner that we needed to go to the location on S. Westnedge and that «it would take forever to get there». Something about her manner rubbed me the wrong way and I question her sincerity when I had asked for directions for the other location.
Good thing I checked my phone again, b/​c she gave me the wrong location! If I hadn’t checked, we would’ve driven again in the wrong direction. YES, it was my initial mistake, but the server made an even bigger mistake! I almost wonder if she hasn’t done that purposely before just for a laugh.

I have eaten and drank here for years and always been happy. The food is delicious and the drinks are reasonable. They have a couple pool tables and dart boards and the place is usually pretty busy. The drinks are decently strong and the service is friendly and prompt. They have a decent variety of food and I have eaten there for lunch, dinner and a late night meal with drinks. A good place to go for food and drinks. Even a family would be fine if it was early enough in the day.

No complaints here. Pretty cool patio area and I like the tall chairs inside its like a challenging game to not fall when you get plastered and need to go to the bathroom. Well done!

burgers aren’t bad. service was great. it’s pub food. don’t expect superb burgers.

The food is not even that good, stingy on portions, the price is outragous. The only reason to even bother going there is for the fact it’s down the street from where I live and I can’t figure a better place to go drinking. Then again, Applebees is even better for that. I can’t stand Main St. Pub, the only reason I give this garbage 2 stars is that it’s down the road and I go there with friends for drinks as it’s close by. Wish other bars were closer. Lame.

Maybe the new-​car smell disrupted my kalamabooze senses, but I’m a fan of the Main St. Pub. I would question the accuracy of their 20 oz mugs and wouldn’t consider Bud Light to be a beer worthy of an entire month, but the clean look of the establishment and side patio make up for it. As far as the previous bars, this one tops my list. Who really cares if it’s not on Main St., have a few brewskis and forget what street you’re on…3 beers. Word of caution though, the waitresses are even chattier than they appear!

Blame it on the size of the plates, but the food portions always seem a bit paltry. Speaking of sizes, the waitress refused to acknowledge any volume other than «big» or «small» so when I explained to her that a pint was 16 oz., she smiled and politely retorted «OK, so you want the small glass then.» While the small glass was sufficient in emasculating me, it was not sufficient in inebriating me. Sober, and otherwise satisfied, I saw no reason to stay. If you want to eat, drink, and be home in time for Golden Girls, I’m sure you could do worse than Main St. Pub.

Have you ever played Sim City 1? If there were bars or pubs in that game, they would have more originality in their 4×4 pixel images than Main Street Pub. From the beer selection to the menu, servers to managers, this place has no inspiration. It’s clean, prices are ok, plenty of TVs for sporting events. The food tastes like, well, standard American food. But there is nothing about this bar that says «Hey, I’m different.»
They should call this place Bell Curve Bar or X-​bar to communicate how average everything they offer is… but that isn’t a normal enough of a name therefore it’s disqualified.
Better stick with the name «Main St. Pub»…on Westnedge. You might as well bring beers to McDonald’s or Burger King. (I do not officially condone this behavior).
