Went in with my fiancé to shop for a bike on a Saturday afternoon. We were very disappointed with no one coming up to us to help us look at bikes. We looked at the bikes ourselves and waited for someone for about 20 minutes and then left. The service center was busy and it didn’t seem there were enough sales people on the floor. Like I said, I was disappointing with the service on our first time in the store.

Great shop(s) with a deep heritage — the Romence location was formerly Breakaway Bikes. Most of the«lifer» staff is still there, and many grey hairs from the Kalamazoo peloton work there and the downtown location part time. Seek out the older staff for a mature and«no BS» about product lines and bikes.

Peddle does a great job with sales, repairs, and events when it comes to bicycling. I would recommend them if you’re buying a new bike or fixing one you already have.

A shop full of people that love bikes and bike culture, without being pretentious about it; seemingly a rare find these days. They intimately know(and ride) the bikes they sell and are more than happy to wax poetic about the nuances of each choice, or one can just mention what they are looking to accomplish; they will be sure to point you in the correct direction. Service is top notch, and the work stands are in an area open to the showroom, you just can’t get more honest than that.

This place was awesome, esp. after a terrible experience elsewhere in town *cough* Alfred E Bike *cough.* The environment is very low pressure, with an emphasis on bike servicing and parts, though they seem to have a wide selection of new bikes too. I went in for parts and repair advice/pricing. Despite it being quite busy, they had plenty of people on hand, and the guy who helped me was very knowledgeable and friendly; not condescending at all, despite my obviously not being a bike nerd. He offered a couple quick suggestions, found and ordered the right part for me at a good price, which i got in a couple days. Overall, very professional, competent, and low-pressure sales environment. An absolute top pick for bike parts/accessories/service in k-zoo(can’t speak to their new bike selection, but it *looked* good…).

Pedal is a welcome addition to Kalamazoo’s bike scene. The shop has a couch, an open work area where mechanics are willing to drop what they are doing to answer questions, and offer good advice. Not snobby, snooty, or intimidating as bike shops can be. They carry Scott, Guru, and Jamis. The owner is friendly, and committed to the bike community in Michigan. They hosted a cyclocross race this October in conjunction with the Tricats, Kisscross, and the Kalamazoo County Parks dept.
