Studio Grill is my new favorite restaurant in Kalamazoo. Not only do they offer killer food, they know how to run a business. They are only open for breakfast and lunch, so dont plan on having dinner here(more on this later). I’ll talk about the business in a minute, let’s first talk about the food. I was immediately at odds with myself about what to order, should I go with breakfast or would I regret not trying one of their famous burgers? The struggle is real people, just wait until you see their menu! I ended up going with the Kirby Burger and a side of Cajun Fries. After reading the description, my mind was made up: stuffed with bleu cheese and topped with more bleu cheese, serrano sauce, bacon, and a fried egg. BOOM! It was as delicious as it sounds. Add a butter bun to the above description and you have a little slice of heaven. The Cajun Fries were also really good. The Sweet Potato Fries are also really good but what I would consider run-of-the-mill so if you’re trying to decide between the two, go for the Cajun to try something different. For what it’s worth, my son had the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes and they were fantastic. Fluffy buttermilk pancakes with cinnamon chips — delicious! Those with diabetes — stay away from these unless you want to go out with a bang or have your insulin handy. Their Barista menu is also unique and full of deliciousness. I wanted to try at least half of the menu. The wife and I ended up trying to Peanut Butter Mocha. Again, a diabetics nightmare, but oh-so-delicious. Homemade whip cream with peanut butter in every sip. Now about the business… This is one place that has nailed the balance between supporting your customers and not killing your employees. One of the owners was walking around chatting up each table the morning we were there and I told him I wished they were open for dinner. He told me he had worked in corporate /food industry for many years and was done working so many hours. Bravo, sir. Bravo. Not only am I jealous, I tip my hat to you. I’m sure you’re employees love you. After telling him how much we all loved his food, the table next to us said something similar in that the Scramble/Hash was the best he’d ever had. Not only will I be back, I’ll be telling all of my friends how great the Studio Grill is. Keep up the good work!

Pretty good. Everybody like their meal. I had to send my hamburger back because it was raw. But when it came back it was delicious. Everything comes with French fries but the burgers are so big you don’t really need them. I didn’t appreciate the women’s low-cut shirts. Every time they bent over was a tad on the ridiculous side.

Fantastic. This word still comes up short in describing our first experience at Studio Grill. The atmosphere was super. Colorful and lively. The service was spot-on. Friendly, engaging, and fast. The food was a blast of taste and creativity. We had an omelette with all the fixings and American fries plus a raspberry pound cake French toast that exploded with flavor. Possibly the best French toast idea come to life that I’ve tasted. As we left, the line was out the door. This says something special about this place, since the outside temperature was a balmy 25 degrees. Can’t wait to go back for a burger or two! Returned for a second trip today. I tried one of the many burgers they offer. Mine came on a very fresh bun, and was stuffed with sausage, mushrooms and onions. It was great! Expect a bit of a wait to get a seat, but don’t let that deter you from making the trip!

The best burger joint I’ve been to in quite some time. Fried egg on a burger always hits the spot! The Outlaw with jalapeños stuffed into the meat was the real deal. Ask for a side of their famous Serrano sauce. You won’t be disappointed. Will keep your mouth hot at least while the temp outside is freezing.

Best place ever. Thanks for the pancake variety pack. It nearly destroyed me. Best pancakes, good eggs, and with a personal touch.

The burgers here are absolutely amazing, unique, and out of this world(my personal favorites are the Canyon burger and the Nutty Butter burger with strawberry jam). The breakfast food, the homemade jams, and their special serrano sauce are also fantastic. The staff is super nice and charming as well. They only have street parking, they close early and there can sometimes be a 15 – 20 minute wait, but it’s so worth it.

Six words: The best breakfast. The best burgers. That is all.

This casual eatery offers one of the most original menus in the area. I last had the Victory Sandwich(Philly beef, coleslaw, Siracha sauce) and couldn’t get enough. The stuffed burgers and omelettes are all terrific, too.

Yes, this place is awesome. I think it’s better than Crow’s Nest personally, but I’m not a weakling vegetarian, so Crow’s Nest is still probably better for that. Hardly any wait, and banging food. I added on pancakes to my eggs, and they were gigantic! Definitely way enough for two. Hard a bite of my friend’s burger — delicious and greasy, perfect for hangover. Strawberry jam was also banging, I ate it with my toast to appear like a normal human, but I really just wanted to drink the jam directly out of its small plastic vessel.

Visited for breakfast by recommendation of a friend. I was seated quickly and coffee was immediately places in front of my face which makes for a happy lady right out of the gate. The atmosphere is nice in which case I like my breakfast places to be kind of low key. It’s an every mans kind of breakfast restaurant which is what I personally love first thing in the morning. They have local artists work displayed on the walls which is always easy on the eyes when waiting after you order and it shows that they are into supporting the local arts(to me is speaks volumes) When ordered they had my food out within 10 minutes and I had an omelette. It was built different than most omelette where as it the ingredients were wrapped up like a burrito in a layer of egg. Despite its difference it was still very delicious. The service was good and the food was pretty fantastic as well. The only somewhat downside(and it wasn’t even that bad really) was that we were in a bit of a time crunch and we waited quite a while for the check. All in all it was a pretty darn good experience and I will most definitely be back. If you want a good meal is advise you to go. It’s worth it.

I have been here many times for lunch and normally have no problem. The last two times I have been here I have had horrible service and been ignored by the waitresses. I would understand if they were busy but I was told our food would be right up and 20 minutes later I was waiting for my food still. They are lucky I really enjoy the food but I will not be revisiting when on a time crunch.

My wife and I picked this place for breakfast as they had the best breakfast menu in the area. My sausage hash and my wife’s Studio omelette lived surpassed our expectations! The restaurant is quaint, but the food is phenomenal! The burger menu looks amazing as well. As someone else mentioned, get a side of the Serrano sauce, the flavor grabs your attention and the heat will linger in your mouth for a while!

Very good! We went to brunch on a Saturday morning and couldn’t find anywhere without a line until we got here. We got seated pretty quickly and felt pretty cozy. The food was good except my scrambled eggs were a little over cooked and a little brown. My boyfriends sausage had bacon pieces on it so they may not clean their grill frequently. Other than that, great service and I recommend the Peanut Butter Mocha! I’m a barista so I know a good espresso drink!

all burgers should be stuffed. you can get the Serrano sauce on the side so you can control your own heat.

Studio Grill, How did I know not know about your awesomeness until now? You are such a gem in Kzoo! The menu is very unique and even a little entertaining to read. It covers all of the bases– the breakfast list is vast and they have a wide lunch/dinner selection as well. When we came there was a small wait because they had a full house(it’s a smaller space). I picked right up on the fact that they have a loyal breakfast following in around town. I haven’t been here for lunch yet, but I nearly ordered a lunch dish for breakfast because it sounded so good. The prices are great and the quality is excellent. Our waited was very attentive and the manager*(owner?) came right over during our meal and asked us how everything was. Not a single person out of our group of 7 left unsatisfied. I will definitely be back. Seal of approvals: Their Serrano Sauce. This is awesome with their omelets. Spicy! Watch out. Raspberry jam with cinnamon toast for the win.

Had a nice and simple breakfast — no frills — just good food, hot coffee, and attentive service. I’m looking forward to my next stop there!

Went there for a unit staff lunch, and everything was great! We made a reservation and pre-ordered, everything went amazingly smoothly. They had out spot saved(a BIG table during the lunch rush!), quickly dropped off drinks and food a few minutes after arriving, and checked in on us and cleared quickly. They had our individual checks ready to go as well. The service was outstanding. I had the more olive burger, which was amazing. As an olive lover(okay, and burger lover…), I can never get enough olives. The burger really had a homemade– not frozen– taste. Fries were great too. i can’t wait to come back and try more of the unique burgers, plus onion rings!

This review is only 4 stars because I’ve only been once. I will have to wait for potential revisions(down or up, but probably up!) after visiting again. MAN this place was good! Everyone really enjoyed their meals, and the menu just seemed to feature hit after hit of tasty sounding things. My group went for breakfast, and I got the feature of the day, a Harvest Hash that had seasonal apples and some potatoes and other goodies I can’t quite recall right now but it was a unique offering and it was really good. I generally am big on service, and this place was a standout. Our server(I’m sorry I forgot your name!) was really sweet and her attitude was generally excited to be there. It really seemed like everyone that worked there enjoyed what they were doing and was happy to be a part of a great restaurant experience. Can’t wait to make my next breakfast date here!

Studio Grill, I wanted nothing more than to like you. However, it seems like you just weren’t feeling the love(this basically could apply to all my relationships, but let’s not go there). I came in on a Monday with my mum for lunch and was super excited about the food because my brother had talked the place up beyond comparison. I got the rusty nail burger and I’m not sure it met any of my expectations. Pros: + Great service, super friendly, super polite + Amaze Cajun fries + All their burgers come medium-well + The range of items on their menu! + The pesto burger(!!!) + Gluten-free buns! + Giant portions Cons: — The rusty nail burger was dry #majorsadface — Honestly, for as good as it looked on the menu, it didn’t taste great. — The chili was sweet and majorly lacked salt. Bottom line: I think I might have picked the wrong two items on the menu because my mum’s pesto burger was amazing. I’ll definitely give it another try, but I won’t raving about Studio Grill any time soon.
