Had a few great meals here. We normals don’t love hotel food but this was a huge exception. One of the better burgers I have had and some really great wings. If your Staying at the fairmont pull up a chair and enjoy the view and the food. It’s not inexpensive but totally worth it.

Awesome food here we stayed for 6 days and ate here every single day! I have a shellfish allergy and they had a seperate fryer for allergies. That is a big deal for me because not of a lot of places do that, extremely limiting the type of food I can eat at most resteraunts. The fish tacos were great as were the fish and chips

Great customer service. Ask for the piña colada or Mai tai!

Every other bar and restaurant at the Fairmont Orchid has been reviewed, so why not this place? Um… First! The Kahakai Bar is a lovely, little beach bar on the southern end of the resort grounds. It’s tiny, tropical and cute, with room for maybe 8 people to sit. It’s main purpose in life appears to be servicing the lagoon beachgoers during the daytime. Therein lies it’s main weakness: They close WAYTOOEARLY. Almost every time the cocktail bell starting ringing in my brain, they were closing up shop(5 pm sharp, even on weekends). I wasn’t the only one who was disappointed. They were turning away people left and right, even if they arrived at 4:55. Yes, there were other bars at the Fairmont, but this was the only one that had«perfect beach bar» written all over it. It seems to me that Fairmont is missing an opportunity here, but maybe they think they’re saving a little money.(C’mon guys, it’s all about what your guests want!) But it was such a wonderful spot overall, as long as i was early enough. The staff here was always super friendly and laid back. When sitting here with a cocktail in one hand and book in the other, I truly felt I was on vacation. So, just one star off for the early closure.
