Joey and staff go beyond physical therapy… this is «the happiest place on earth»! Every person is treated w/local royalty, as important as a family member. I heard they were good, and I’ll miss my therapy sessions which gives a boost of happiness from Joey and his staff. I prefer Joey’s rather than the other place. Joey is top at his job, yet adorably humble. He’s taught his staff well. There will be one positive in case I get injured again… I can go back!

This place is great! The staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable, I enjoy each and every visit! On the day of my injury my doctor recommended this place, I was able to get an appointment the very next day. They do their very best to make you feel comfortable, if you are ever looking for a physical therapist I would definitely recommend this one.

I have been going to Kaneohe Physical Therapy off and on for 6 years now. I started after an Orthoscopic surgery on my knee. He helped be get to be as good as I could. My next step was total knee replacement. I needed a lot of therapy then. We’d worked my range of motion to 125 degrees. My surgeon wanted nothing short of 140. I had a third surgery called a manipulation which basically is ripping the scar tissue. With lots of work we got it to 145. In the year I started slipping back. 4% of people who have total knee replacement get Chronic Reactive Pain Disorder. I’m that one! It’s been 5 years since the knee replacement and I’ve tried many things. I even have had a Spinal Stimulator Implantation. It helps the pain about 50% of the time. I am now back at Kaneohe Physical Therapy. My muscles had started to atrophy. Nothing seems to help more than pushing through the pain and work it out! Joey is so much fun! The place is full of people and there’s lots of playing around and joking. It’s nice to lose myself in fun and laughter and it makes me forget the pain and I feel good when I leave. The place is flexible and I’ve even taken my grandchildren with me. He keeps the kids involved even if there’s balls flying all over. Joey is a master knowing when things like that are ok with his other patients and when to tone it down. Joey is professional, knows his stuff and having a good time is just a perk!

The people that work here are the BEST. They are fun, professional, respectful and knowledgeable. They make the work needed for PT fun and enjoyable. They help you get the results while taking your mind off the pain. I have been to PT many times in the past at various places and this is by far the best experience. They are very accomodating to your schedule as well. I highly recommend them.

Yesterday was my last session of 16 for my Frozen Shoulder. I couldn’t even label it at the beginning because I was in so much denial. How could this happen to me since my surgery was in November and all of a sudden I have tremendous pain 7 months later? How can there be such a large gap inbetween? I first thought something was wrong when I couldn’t grab the parking ticket at the entrance to the parking lot in June when I took my mom shopping for her birthday dress. I had to use my right hand to lift my left arm up! I KNEW something was wrong when I could not change clothes. It was so frustrating putting on a long sleeved t-shirt and then fighting with my clothing when attempting to put a scrub top over the t-shirt. In the end, I gave up wearing the long-sleeved t-shirt or thermal underwear and just suffered through the 65 degree temperature of the office at work. Lifting my arms up over my head was pretty much impossible, so I was going to switch to front-buttoned clothing. I was struggling every day with t-shirts. Being a practical person, I finally decided to go to the doctor and find out what the problem was — maybe torn rotator cuff? It was so painful that I predicted the worst… My doctor referred me to the surgeon who prescibed 8 sessions of Physical Therapy. At the end of that round, I was prescribed 8 more sessions which I agreed to — rather than getting surgery. I did not want to lose arm function even though the surgeon said it wouldn’t be total incapacitation. Nothing scares me more than surgery. I’m fully aware of the risks and possible negative outcomes. I’ll try other options first. I am so fortunate that my therapist, Joe(aka Joey) is such a positive, humorous, sincere, caring, kind, trustworthy, patient, encouraging, intelligent and down-to-earth human being! Without him, I would have given up and not given in. Joe’s educational and simple instructions were heart-warming and he eventually won me over. I’m a stubborn, non-compliant patient — I learned from my own patients! How Joe got me to change my thinking and accept my diagnosis is beyond me. I really believe in Physical Therapy now(yes, I was sceptical) and am so grateful to him because I have avoided surgery!!! It has been a long journey and I am so glad that Joe of Kaneohe Physical Therapy was there every step of the way — it was like being a «Kaneohe Comedy Central» because of all the laughs we shared — proving that Laughter is truly the Best Medicine!
