Even though this is my 1st check in, I frequently am a customer here. A great healthy option at the mall. Food is usually delicious, especially their smoothies & açai bowls. Actually, their paninis, wraps, and sandwiches are awesome too. I only have not tried their waffles. 4 stars because every once in a while someone is working who has bad customer service & they quite often seem to be out of papayas. And a couple times the side salad was wilted & old. But other than that, I’m a frequent customer for a reason! It’s yummy & healthy!

Food is supposed to be fresh made and tastes okay but the service is pretty spotty depending on who is working. Today’s experience was definitely sub-par. I joined my group about 5 minutes after they ordered and I ordered a turkey salad croissant and asked if it could be toasted. I paid and sat down to wait, and waited… and waited. My friends all got their food about 5 minutes after I got there and started eating. Twenty minutes later I went up to ask if it was ready and the(same) girl asked me if I wanted to order anything. When I told her I was checking on my order, she gave me a shocked look, apologized and said she’ll bring it out to my table. It came out about 8 minutes later. The croissant was not toasted but I wasn’t about to have them remake it and wait again after already waiting 30 minutes. Sandwich was so-so, turkey salad tasted a bit«odd» but I didn’t get sick. My 3rd time here and if I ever go back I’ll stick to fresh salad and no more sandwiches.

Not a bad place for freshly squeezed juice, which is inevitably a little expensive everywhere you go. We had the Pucker Up, a concoction of pineapple, orange, and lemon.

Super friendly staff. I had a pretty decent panini, side salad of mixed greens. They food choices are minimal and I wish they would’ve had something like an aioli spread for my sandwich. Still, this place is a café so the drinks are the main draw and they are well worth coming here for. Tons of unique drink choices! Bravo.

This place is an interesting niche filler that really is under-rated. It features healthy foods that tend to appeal to women, and some pretty good ice cream and shakes that appeal to the men. I am a sucker for the Yaya shake, a milkshake that features ice cream, some peanut butter and expresso in a delicious pick-me-up drink. They also have unique sandwiches that you cannot get anywhere else in the mall. I first got started coming to this place to get their lattes, which were quite good. However, they don’t seem to understand that coffee needs to be visible and«pushed» close to the entrance, where passers-by can see and smell it, not way in the back. They could do a whole lot more business in the morning if they invested in an expresso cart up at the front. Alas, Mocha Java definitely marches to the beat of a different drummer. They also have soup in a breadbowl for those that like a light lunch. I’ve never had their Acai bowls, but that obviously is a big seller to their customer base. If you want your typical greasy fast food, don’t come here, but if you are looking for something different in a healthy format, this place is worth checking out

…Walked into MJ Café for the first time today because I wanted to eat an acai bowl. Good selection of acai bowls. Normally when I buy an acai bowl it’s made fresh and normally is a 5−10minute wait elsewhere. Anyhow I was shocked because after ordering my order was ready within 2 minutes. Fast! When I started to eat it, i noticed that the only thing that was fresh in it was the bananas. The blueberries was frozen and so was the acai! I didn’t enjoy it at all because it had a frozen texture to it that made it feel like I was eating a Popsicle. Sorry but when I want an acai bowl, I expect it to be freshly made. Definitely won’t be back for an acai bowl especially when it’s not fresh and cost me $ 10.45! Not worth it!

Acai bowl is always good, staff are always friendly, most of the other stuff on the menu is just okay. Though the bagle melt should be taken off the menu.

Why is no one here? This is a gem for meeting clients! It’s bad for your business to meet in overly busy cafes. Give this place a try next time you have a client meeting in Kaneohe. Plenty of drinks and hearty food to choose from.

The only thing that I can tell you about this place is the Awaken Smoothie. Only thing I’ve ever ordered here. It is pretty tasty, and extremely refreshing. The Awaken is kale, spinach, mint, papaya, pineapple, cayenne pepper.

Power bowl came in a huge container for almost $ 9. So much flavor in one bite but not too much that you can’t taste the acai. The only reason I gave this a 4 star is because of location. Hopefully they will open up more locations in town or central Oahu because everything on the menu is too die for. One might say it’s also a little pricey but you pay for what you get. And that acai bowl was worth every dollar.

This place is so yummy and even better because it’s healthy! Smoothies: we had the all fruit sunrise, really tasty my son loved it. For food we had the Chicken curry wrap: def recommend full of flavor Tomato basil pesto panini: was pretty good. The grilled cream cheese and turkey bagel melt: sooo ONO. best bagel I’ve ever had, def recommend it. I’m craving one now. Smokey and they use a herb butter that makes the outside crust crispy. Love this place. haven’t tried an acai bowl here they are a bit over priced.

Best chai tea I’ve ever had, and I get chai wherever I go. I had mine with almond milk instead of regular. Strong flavor, sweet, spicy and delicious! UPDATE: I had given this establishment 5 stars, but I’m taking it down to two. I’ve had two bad experiences here with ordering chai tea. The first time I ordered a large hot chai, but they gave me iced. No problem. I asked them to fix it. So the girl takes my iced chai, pours everything including the ice into a hot cup, and uses the steamer on the machine to melt the ice and warm the chai. Needless to say, it tasted gross and watered down. I had to ask them to get me another. When she brought me the replacement tea, she called my name and disappeared behind the wall. I called out a «thank you» loudly but got no response. This time I had my husband pick me up a chai to go. He didn’t realize it because of the large order we placed, but when he got home I picked up the cup and it felt very light. I opened the lid to find my cup significantly under filled. It seems the employees can’t be bothered to even fill a cup up. This isn’t a busy place. There’s no excuse for this.

Excellent Acai bowls! I would usually have to drive all the way to Kailua to get a good bowl, but these are just as great & fresh.

I love supporting local businesses, especially when they have great products. MJ Café is one of these places. Stop by here to grab an Acai bowl and a dirty Chai(Chai ice tea with an shot of espresso). The acai bowls run about ~$ 7 – 9 based on ingredients — but well worth it. Sandwiches are delicious as well!

If you’re allergic to walnuts, stay away from the curried chicken wrap!!! Or make sure you ask what ingredients they use if you’re allergic to nuts, gluten, etc. Other than that, I would say MJ Café’s food tastes great, is good quality, is kind of pricey, the portion sizes are good, and the staff is very friendly. I came here for the first time today and ordered the curried chicken wrap(~$ 9.50) which comes with either chips or salad. I got the salad. I also ordered their Acai Power Bowl(~$ 8.50). Total came out to just under $ 20. I went home, started eating the wrap, and after three bites, I felt a reaction(tingly tongue, swollen lips, itchy throat). Little info about me: I’m allergic to certain tree nuts(walnuts, pecans, cashews, pistachios). I rarely have problems with nuts though, which is why, when I was ordering, I didn’t even think I would have a problem with the curried chicken wrap. I thought wrong. I let my mom try some, and she said she tasted something nutty, like walnuts(oh, great). I decided I’d better call and ask. So I called MJ Café to see if there were nuts in the curried chicken, and they were very nice about it. A woman picked up, I asked her if the curried chicken had nuts in it, she didn’t know, so she took down my number, asked her boss, and called me back immediately. She apologized and said the curried chicken IS in fact made with walnuts. I asked if they had a sign in the store stating that their foods may contain nuts, but she didn’t know and handed the phone over to a male(not sure who he was, I didn’t ask). He stated that they do not have signs, and that he was really sorry. I mentioned that a sign would be nice to have to prevent this from happening to future customers. We ended the conversation shortly after. Overall, the staff was very kind and professional. I just wish they had a sign or something to warn customers with nut allergies because it isn’t always common knowledge that some dishes may contain nuts, just like how I never would have thought the curried chicken has walnuts(is this common knowledge?). Maybe it was my fault for not asking what was in it, but a sign wouldn’t hurt either, especially for those with severe allergies, which luckily mine are pretty mild. As for the salad that came with the curried chicken wrap, it was like any other plain salad, but I used my own dressing because I didn’t want to risk another reaction if it also contained nuts. I started eating the salad after I got off the phone with the workers and didn’t think to ask if the dressing also had nuts. I didn’t wanna call again either, so I just used my own. Finally, the acai bowl was the best part! It was cold and fresh, topped with a generous amount of granola and bananas. The granola was sweet with honey and the acai was flavorful and refreshing. It’s not the most spectacular acai bowl, but I went in with low expectations and came out delightfully surprised! Would purchase again! I’ll definitely give MJ Café another try. This time I’ll be more cautious and ask what’s in the dish before I order. Don’t get me wrong, the curried chicken wrap tasted great! I just couldn’t eat it lol. I also love that they support locally and naturally made foods. Not the best experience for the first time, but I’m willing to give them a second chance.

I love the idea behind this little café. However the last couple times I have dinned here I was a little disappointed. Last time I ordered the turkey pesto mozzarella panini with a banana milk shake. The panini was very disappointing. First upon opening the sandwich I noticed it was not cut in half I had to tear it with my fingers. I was carful because I knew the melted cheese would be hot and found it wasn’t even melted at all! And the turkey was cold not very panini like. I only ate a few bites because really it was not appetizing. The price is right here however! It’s very affordable and one of the only semi organic place to eat on the windward side of Oahu. The guy who prepared my sandwich was not very approachable or friendly so I decided to take it to go and re heat at home. No big deal really. And my banana milk shake was super yum!

Why does«junk food» taste good? Can«healthy food» taste good? Yes! Lured in by a coupon($ 1 off an acai bowl or 10 percent off food items), I ventured in to MJ Café, located on the ground floor of Windward Mall. Unfortunately, I didn’t read the fine print that said that the coupon was only good Monday — Friday. Shucks! I got the Acai Power Bowl anyway. YUM! The next day, I came back to use the coupon on food items. I got the Panini Special which included a Freshly Sqeezed Juice. The Tomato Pesto Basil panini tasted better than I imagined! It came with a crisp side salad(or chips as an option)! The«Up All Night» carrot, ginger, pineapple juice was pretty good! I also got a Greek Salad which consisted of Kalamata Olives, Banana Peppers, diced cucumbers, Sun-dried tomatoes and Feta cheese on a bed of fancy lettuce! It was so flavorful that I didn’t even need the dressing! The service was quick and pleasant. There is a bit of a wait since everything is prepared fresh. Comfy seats are available for dining in — the area is spacious, clean, nicely decorated, and has good lighting. Cool recycling bins are available! All ingredients are«local», so prices may seem higher than elsewhere. I would come back to try each of the creative juice combinations and even the wraps and other Acai Bowls! It’s so convenient for Windward residents! Who knew that healthy could be so delicious?!

My daughter and I were a little hesitant about eating here because of the reviews. Although our overwhelming hunger for Acai bowls forced out hand. This shop is clean, well lit and a nice décor. The counter person greets us with a smile and friendly attitude. Ok now the Acai bowls… Ordered a Antioxidant bowl and a Power bowl, both on the larger size and very delicious. Will definitely eat here every time were in Windward Mall.

Meeting over an acai bowl – perfection! Went back a few weeks later in the evening and enjoyed a tuna salad and chips. This place has delish Acai bowls and fresh wraps. The staff is super friendly and the vibe of the place is totally chill. Love the picnic table seating, couches and chairs. It gives the place a very homey and cool vibe. It’s usually not super crowded which is also good because you can enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. I think it’s wonderful that the Windward side and Windward Mall offers a healthy alternative to its food options. I am grateful that they actually have a place that offers such healthy meals, snacks and choices for a lunch or evening meal without feeling like you have to eat only fast food.
