Overrated. This place uses all powder. Cheap on the boba and jelly. Don’t get how this place is getting 4 out of 5.

First time stopping in at this location and we weren’t disappointed! I had three kids with me and navigating the massive menu was a bit tricky at first… boba tea or smoothie? Coffee drink or fresh juice blend? To crêpe or not to crêpe? Those were the questions! There was a table full of young Gladstone 20 somethings still in business attire playing board games behind us. Sounded like they were having a fun time! Only one guy working the iPad«register» and in charge of making our items but he was pretty fast and efficient. I asked about a few selections and he made good suggestions. It was mango boba for me, green apple(jasmine tea) boba for one kid, blueberry and banana smoothie for another, and a coffee mocha blended iced coffee(frozen) for the teen. We had a good mix of bobas, smoothies and coffees to review. Everybody LOVED their drinks except for the apple boba drink. My kid was underwhelmed. That’s okay… I finished it for her. A fun stop for a hot or cold drink! We will be stopping in again for sure.

This location is so clean and well kept! We(Californians) are visiting for the weekend, the staff here are super friendly, helpful, and just pure awesome! Better set-up than what we currently have back home

I was quite disappointed the second time I went in and ordered a Matcha latte. As the employee was making it, another employee walked by and said, «Ugh, I hate the smell of that stuff.» To which the employee, making my drink, responded, «Well, I’m the one having to make it!»

I really really like this place. I always get the pina Colada smoothie & sometimes crepes. It’s a simple place to listen to music, do homework & chat with friends.

Omg… It was a terrible decision to come here. I knew the reviews were too good to believe. If you had boba from California or something. you for sure won’t like this place. The boba is hard and disgusting. I couldn’t eat it at all. Ended up tossing it after a few sips. The tea was overly sweet and just full of sugar. Maybe their smoothies are better, but if you’re thinking of traditional boba. you better skip on this one.

I’ve become addicted to this place! My go-to is always the iced Original Milk — large since it’s only an $ 0.50 upgrade from the regular($ 4) and it means that I get more! I haven’t had the chance to try their crepes yet, but it always smells so yummy whenever other customers order it. I’ll definitely have to try it the next time I’m there. The one tip that I have is: ask for their punch card! Especially if you feel like you’ll make frequent stops there. I’ve been there several times and didn’t know about the punch card until my friend told me to ask about it. The punch card works for both Dragonfly locations so don’t forget to ask for one!

Highly disappointed… Maybe I got too excited from all the hype. No worth it, really it isn’t. the inside is nice and a pretty nice selection of loose leaf teas. But the bubble tea was not as good as people have stated. I was literally drinking powdery sugar blinded in ice. Super chalky with not taste of the matcha tea. I had sugar that all. Btw, how lazy can you be to lean down to your elbow while putting my order into the ipad? brah, stand up, look professional. I don’t care how tall you all. I rather see someone standing up and ready to interact with customers than someone who looks like they don’t want to be there.

First off, I wanna say that the owner is super nice, along with a few select employees that work in the evenings. The owner seems to be at this location fairly often to train new employees, since this location is still rather new. I’ve been here many times, as there aren’t very many bubble tea places to begin with, and this one is the closest one to me. The bubble tea here is the best in the whole KC area, and I haven’t had a drink that I didn’t like. My only gripe is that every time I order a large, they always input regular. This is usually because it’s a new employee that’s training, but it gets rather irritating because it’s a repeated issue. However, a more experienced employee gave me the large I wanted on my next visit, while only charging me for the regular because of the newer employee’s mistake. I have yet to try their crepes, but I hope to try one soon. They also have a bunch of loose leaf teas for purchase, if you’re so inclined. Dragonfly Tea Zone has become my regular spot for bubble tea, and I hope they continue to expand! Overall: 4⁄5 Food: 4⁄5 Service: 3.5÷5 Atmosphere: 4⁄5

It’s bright, modern, colorful and SOMANY options to choose from. I consider myself adventurous and always willing to try something new; so why do I continually keep ordering the #16 — cappuccino smoothie. Please make my addiction go away! For the love of god take it off your menu and help me expand my horizons.

Don’t overlook this place; the Northland is lucky enough to have boba tea, let alone Dragonfly Tea Zone. It’s in an odd spot in Creekwood Commons, so I hope it does well. Besides having interesting offerings of many loose leaf teas, crepes, and shaved ice(soon), the actual bubble tea is very well blended and smooth. It far exceeds Tea Drops in every way imaginable. The tapioca pearls are well infused and just the right texture. I haven’t tried one bad flavor among the dozens they offer. And the owner is present practically every time we visit, hard at work. The only thing I find a little annoying is the service provided by the rest of the staff is hit and miss. There is some like hipster-lite guy who is very nice, for example. Then there’s this other girl who hardly speaks and always has an eye on her phone while she’s taking your order. It seems like the staff has already changed a lot in the short time they’ve been open, too. Plus last time we went, a «Help Wanted» sign was on display. Overall, it’s a great hangout place(we like to study there) and I’m glad Kansas City has it. Bubble tea: 4⁄5 Atmosphere: 4⁄5

My days of heading south of the river are long gone to get my tea fixes. I really could not have experienced a better visit overall! Hurrying on my lunch break, I was promptly greeted by friendly staff members who were very helpful in providing guidance on anything I needed assistance with. I went the tealatte route and ordered a vanilla chai spice with almond milk. Perfectly crafted! However, I would like to see cups with their logo and name. On a complete whim I asked what teas are best for people feeling under the weather. You know what I experienced y’all? EVENMOREKINDNESS! I bagged up some loose leaf tea and felt confident my new Tinder Romance would feel better in no time with selections of peach green tea and Malaysian chai. The loose leaf tea jars are self serve with a scales, scooper, baggies, and labels. Feel free to explore this tea nirvana!

Definitely a great addition to the Northland! When I heard that Dragonfly was opening up shop up North, I was excited. It’s a great place to have get together with friends to enjoy some delicious drinks with a huge variety to choose from! Dragonfly Tea Zone offers boba tea, something KC was missing(although we could definitely use more :). Not only do they offer boba tea, they also serve smoothies, coffee, and juices. If you’re in the mood for sweet snack, be sure to check out their sweet crepes as well. I usually order the Sexy Mama(true, they may have cheesy drink names), which is a delicious juice combo of carrots, apples, apple juice, kale, cucumber, and spinach. If I’m in the mood for some boba, then I lean towards the Lychee with Black Tea bobas. I recently took my sister here and she had ordered a «warm» boba tea, did not know that was such a thing! It is essentially a warm tea drink with tapiocal pearls. She very much so enjoyed and were impressed with her warm bobas. I’ve also recommended Dragonfly to friends who have been impressed by the new location as well. If you frequent here often like my friends and I do, ask for their stamp card. Buy 10, get your 11th one free! Also, the owner recently purchased board games to check out while enjoying a yummy drink. My only caveat is I wish they opened later and served savory snacks, but other than that Dragonfly serves delicious exotic drinks!

Love at first sight! After moving up North, I wanted to find my niche — a comfortable place to go for my studies and to quench my thirst. I’ve tried several other coffee shops in the nearby area but have yet to fit in — till now! Dragonfly is spacious, clean and modern with a great selection of drinks at reasonable prices. After several visits, I’ve gathered that the owner is very passionate about the product he is selling. I overheard him training the employees, and they all seem like they genuinely care. They make you feel welcomed! I’ve had the pleasure of trying a couple hot tea lattes — the matcha and spiced apple chai. The matcha is sweet with a slightly bitter tea aftertaste. Very good. The spiced apple is subtle; I taste chai more than anything. I want to try the rest to find a favorite, because I really like the concept. Out of the boba tea flavors, I’ve tried taro, passionfruit, coconut milk, strawberry and chai tea. The coconut milk over ice with boba and lychee jelly is the perfect guilty pleasure drink. I’m sure there’s something here to suit your mood. Play around with the flavors or ask for recommendations. They’ll let you sample if you’re really lost. Come on in and give them your business! It’ll be worth it.

Tried a little bit of everything the first time in. I stocked up on some loose tea(a red tea, Pumpkin Spice, I KNOW!, and a black tea, Passion Fruit.) They have some pretty fancy flavors over there as well as broad medical claims, but we’ll leave that for another time. Yes, Tea is good for you! My tea inventory amassed, I went for a drink to go, there were a lot of choices but come on, it’s Fall. So, Cold Pumpkin Spice Latte for me please! But then, I saw it, in the mood to try something new… The Ginger Shot! I can see why they can become addicting(My source btw is reviews on Amazon.) Not for people who are even on the fence about the taste of ginger though. Be sure to eat the fruit!

The wonderful world of boba has finally found its way into the Northland! Dragonfly Tea Zone finally opened up a few days ago and I am a fan. If you’ve heard of Dragonfly Tea Zone before, you will know that there is also one located in the City Market(the former Lollicup). This location is located in the Creekwood Commons Plaza near the Hy-Vee. The location is large and they have ample seating and very spacious. The décor is modern and colorful, very similar to boba places I frequent when I was a teen. They have two TVs that play music videos with current music, a definite plus for me. They also open late so you no longer have to worry about the 3pm closing time. Their menu is large so you’re sure to find something that suits you. For drinks, they’ve got lattes, tea lattes, fresh juice, juice smoothies, smoothies, and of course bubble tea. I found that the workers are very well trained and knowledgeable so don’t be afraid to ask about the menu and what ingredients are in a certain drink. Of the three times that I have visited, almost all of the workers were happy to fix your drink if you were not satisfied. That is great customer service. If you’re on a health grind, you can choose to get the fresh juice that has real fruit and vegetable ingredients. Their counter is stock filled with fresh fruit and veggies so that was great to see. On each visit, the workers were always cleaning the area making it spotless. The best thing about Dragonfly is their tapioca pearls(aka boba). They are made to perfection as they are soft and chewy. They are not hard and they always taste freshly boiled. For me, I judge teat zones on their tapioca pearls(if they’re offered) and how they are cooked. Dragonfly hit the spot for me. I also want to mention that they have a huge variety of loose leaf tea that you can buy. The variety is so much that I get overwhelmed looking through all of them. Dragonfly also has dessert crepes and ice cream so it is a perfect place to grab a dessert. I have yet to try these but I will definitely be back to have a taste. I did notice that they had shaved ice on the Unilocal picture’s page as well as their banner during construction. However, the shaved ice is left off of the menu which is a bit of a disappointment. I am hoping they bring it to the menu at least during the warmer months!

Best Boba Pearls in town!(Tapioca Pearls) Let me start by saying how awesome their customer service was. They were very friendly and just down to earth. Plus they made the boba teas really well. I’ve only had two drinks so far and I was quite impressed! Green Start: this is a great choice for all you health nuts out there. It’s a smoothie that consists of kale, spinach, lime, orange juice, celery, carrots, chia seeds, green tea, and cucumbers! I asked for boba in mine and it made the healthy drink into more of my fancy :) Every Boba Place I go to… I always have to order the… TAROBOBA tea: this flavor is the make or break it for a good review from me… and I can honestly say that… I love the Taro boba tea here! Not too sweet, not watered down… just right especially when it is enhanced by the soft and fresh tapioca pearls that they put in it. My only complaint is… why is it so close to my house! LOL now I am gonna end up going to get boba tea alllllll the time because I do not have the self control to stop myself from coming to get my boba fix! Haha I am super happy that a boba place finally opened up in Gladstone! Shoutout to the workers who keep the place clean and sparkly! It’s definitely the perfect hangout place on a weekend or after work. Nice and chill with top40 songs playing and plenty of seats to have all your friends around you. I will definitely be coming back again… and again… and again…

KC-Yelpers. It’s exciting to have the first Dragonfly Tea shop in the North Land. I’ve known Doug(owner) for a very long time, he’s extremely passionate about tea. He started business with a little trailer towed behind his car 10yrs ago, now opening his second tea location(first is in City Market). He left behind the Healthcare IT industry to dedicate his life to tea, please support him and save the negative reviews. Just tell the staff directly if you don’t like anything, they will ensure you’re a happy customer. The new location is very spacious and welcoming. The loose leaf tea inventory is the largest in the mid-west. Lots of seating so grab your laptop and hang out here for awhile. The menu is similar to the City Market location. Fresh crepes, bubble tea, Vietnamese coffee, and health drinks are always freshly made. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu, you have to check out the Nutella crepes. My favorite is Passion Fruit Bubble Tea with Lychee Jelly. I hope you’ll enjoy it. Cheers…

I was so excited to try this place, so it was even more disappointing than usual. Let me start off by saying that it’s not horrible, just might not be for me. I couldn’t wait to try bubble-tea, I chose strawberry banana with mango and blueberry bobas(fruit juice filled gummies). It was SO sweet, I couldn’t get past 3 sips. It was a pretty drink, but just not for me. I’ll try a different flavor and see if my review can be accurate. Something that I absolutely know is how the clerk acted, which was as if she were mad to be there. She was rude!
