For happy hour, I enjoy. Pot roast nachos are good, enjoyed the wine. I most enjoy the space.

Stopped into Summit Grill on a Friday night. The staff was extremely welcoming. There was a little bit of a wait, so we sat at the bar for a drink. The beer selection wasn’t extensive, but we were able to find something to quench our thirst. After about 15 minutes, we moved to our table. I ordered the BBQ Shrimp & Grits. Soo good! A nice twist on typical Shrimp & Grits. Super cheesy grits, perfectly cooked shrimp, sweet BBQ sauce. My friend ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken. Three HUGE pieces of wonderful fried chicken on top of mashed potatoes. He took half of it home! Highly recommend both entrees and can’t wait to go back for more discoveries.

Summit Grille was packed but my wife and I were lucky to get a spot at the bar. In short, excellent service and the bartenders were helpful, funny and professional. Great vibe! It was fun being in a restaurant that appears to be full of locals both young and old(er). My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Salmon salad. And the Dry Rub Hamburger was big, juicy, well-prepared and amazing. Especially considering 11.95 price tag. And loved their fries. On a previous I enjoyed the wings very much… Place was packed and a little loud. And it can get a little claustrophobic. However, all in all a great experience and easily one of the best values in Kansas City…

Went last night the atmosphere is nice it’s beautiful inside and busy. The waiter name was MARK., he was pretty nice. We ordered Steak street Tacos was not impressed that meat was something to be desired. We ordered a BMF that was good. Nothing special to write home about. It’s OK not bad but not that good.

I’m a big fan of this place. It’s been a hit each time we’ve gone(going on about 5 – 6 times now). We live about 35 minutes away but like to go to the AMC Theaters at Ward Parkway. When we combine dinner and a movie, the only place we go for dinner is The Summit. Prices are very reasonable and their wine list is exceptional. For a bar and grill it’s very classy. The most recent time I went, I got the Fall Salad and added a 6oz grilled salmon. The Fall Salad was wonderful with the roasted beets and butternut squash. The salmon was a perfect add to it as well. If you haven’t gone here yet, make sure to give it a try. You won’t regret it. From the service to the food and ambiance, you are guaranteed a great experience.

Finally a restaurant in this space that works! Been here 3 times since moving to the area last year and had amazing food every time! Love the nachos and the fish and steak tacos. I think we found our new neighborhood grill when we want a good burger, tacos, or salad. Highly recommend for a casual lunch, dinner and even happy hour!

Solid food, solid ambiance, solid staff. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed ourselves here! We loved the vibe as soon as we walked in, tea-lights on every table. It seems like a great place to meet up with neighbors or good friends if you live close by. We were promptly greeted and taken to our table. Our server was great and even let us switch tables from a bar top to a cozier one. He knew a lot about wines and answered all of our menu questions. Very friendly! I ordered the chopped salad and the Poutine. My boyfriend got the Chicken Fried Chicken. Letttt me tell you, these portions are HUGE! The small salad could’ve been my whole meal. The salad was delicious, complete with all the fixins — bacon, olives, you name it! Chicken Fried Chicken dish was great, says the man. The meal was ginormous, three hugeeee pieces of chicken breasts, mashed potatoes, and green beans(he says he could’ve done without — typical). My Poutine was soooooooo good. I’m used to just beef gravy but this was straight pot roast on shoestring fries! It was amazing! And the truffle oil really took it over the edge! I passed on the fried egg on top, just because I don’t trust runny eggs, I’m sure it would’ve been great though! Overall, we loved it! We’ll be back soon :)

Love this place. Possibly the best happy hour — substantial choices, normal portion sizes, and really cheap drinks. Bottomless Mimosa!!! Awesome.

I brought coworkers along for lunch on a coworker’s recommendation. We wanted a good meal and didn’t want to spend more than an hour lunch. The Summit delivered good food, good service, and at a reasonable price. We started with spinach artichoke dip — the fresh shaved cheese on top gave it an edge on an otherwise tried and true appetizer. Our server was helpful at navigating our various dietary requests and making recommendations. We had avocado tacos and mahi mahi tacos. The mahi portion was just right and the toppings were fresh. Prices are elevated though reasonable for the location and theme. The décor consists of contemporary clean lines(I think that’s the scientific term), and the space is open and social — so I may come back on my next visit for a happy hour or dinner with a bigger group. There is a small lot across the street and street parking.

Outstanding… Everything on the menu. Been 30 times for lunch in 2 months time. I’m super critical and worked as a chef, I’ve never been this impressed with a simple menu like this. The quality, consistency, and flavors are awesome. It’s a blue collar menu that doesn’t do fancy things or try to be trendy or foofy but it’s all done so well that any level of food class will be happy here.

So, am I the only person who has read a review, went to check out the spot, was greeted by friendly staff, ordered a drink(it was better than you imagined) and an item off of the menu and it turned out to be EVERYTHING(the entire experience) you read, pictured and thought it would be? Nope! I didn’t think so! Ha! If you haven’t, ya’ betta come check this spot out. Even the waiter is super friendly and patient! I think I will be back tomorrow… anyone willing to join me?

Like seriously?! This place is da bomb! Went there for a brunch and got one. Bottomless mimosas — this is the only real brunch place that has the dollar: quality:quantity ratio down. Everyone at our table ordered something different and we shared: french toast(da bomb), biscuits & sausage gravy(da bomb), vegetarian omelet(da bomb — so fresh!) and jalapeño grits with bacon and banger(da bomb). Girlfriend wanted a drink on the fly — she described it — it came out random as sheet and tasted soooo amazing. Imagine a splash of lime with an after taste of french toast(cinnamon and maple syrup to be exact). Idk what it was called but it must of had clear alcohol in it. It was very nice! So far — best brunch in town on a Sunday! Have fun KC!

Had dinner last week! Still great! Great service, great food, great drinks, great atmosphere. My husband likes their burgers, and I always get the Parmesan crusted tilapia. Solid every time! Everything else we have tried is also delicious, especially the artichoke dip. This is a nice restaurant that isn’t stuffy. Highly recommend.

Great happy hour, atmosphere, and food. Having visited their Lee’s Summit location, I was pleasantly surprised to encounter the same quality at their Waldo location. They have an nice modern setting, not as elegant as their other location, but that’s not a bad thing. Their lunch burger was great, the taste and quality far surpassed the $ 10 price tag, and I love their shoestring fries. Service was outstanding, we were there for quite a while watching a game and the server never neglected our table. They have plenty of tvs, 4 along the wall that runs along 75th street and three along the bar.

This months dinner club ended up here and recommended by a friend. The location was great. Right in the heart of Waldo. When we arrived they had our table ready and got drinks and apps to us very promptly. We had a party of 12 so we got seated by the window and had a good view of the street and people watch. Although windows were everywhere so there’s hardly a bad seat in the house. We had calamari and pot roast nachos and the chicken wings. All were excellent. The calamari was cooked to perfection, very soft and not chewy like I’m used to. The nachos were different, good but not my fave. And the wings were good too, a bit better than a standard wing. I opted for the chicken fried chicken and my fb got summit burger. He wasn’t too impressed but I really loved my chicken fried chicken. It was very nicely cooked, chicken was still very tender. And they give you THREE pieces of chicken with a side of mash and beans. Sooo good, they I ate it all. No doggie bag for me! Because of he location, it’s great to have a walk after dinner. Definitely recommend?!

I can’t say enough good things about summit grill! Let me start with the best part, my Atlantic salmon was only $ 13! A Steal! My salmon came with bacon green beans, and jasmine rice. The salmon was a delicious crisp outside, with tender inside, just the way I like it. Topped with a lemon butter sauce, that had almost a beige cream color to it, and it was amazing. So flavorful. The jasmine rice and green beans were also perfect, I ate every last bite. And for the price, it can’t be beat! I will be returning! Server was very friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately we were too early for the happy hour specials but I would love to try them as it looked like a great happy hour menu! I will be returning as soon as possible!

Came back for a second try of Summit. Very disappointing. Our party waited 30+ minutes to get our food, despite every table around us being served first… even though we arrived before they did. My entrée was served cold… very cold. I sent it back and requested they make it right. It re-appeared 60 seconds later lukewarm from the microwave with soggy fries. UNACCEPTABLE! The manager finally arrived at the table to apologize. At that point waiting for my food to be remade was not an option. After declining my food to be remade The manager left the table. He returned a few moments later to comp our meals. However, I would think that would be the initial reaction… Not an afterthought. Simple rules of running a restaurant: 1. Do not serve cold food. 2. If you make a mistake on a meal… Do not return it microwaved! 3. If you make a mistake… Own up to it and make it right. Good management will grab the bull by the horns and handle the situation. I’m more than anyone want to see our restaurants and businesses flourish in Brookside! Kansas City is a metropolitan rich with wonderful restaurants and venues. If you can’t run with the big dogs get off the playing field.

I can’t say enough good things about the food at Summit! I had the Prime Rib Dip again, and it was just as amazing the 2nd time around. My bride had the Ultimate Grilled Cheese, and it’s just as decadent as described. Buttery, cheesy and absolutely delicious. Service was wonderfully attentive, but I expected that with the small number of occupied tables for a Friday late lunch. We look forward to our next visit already. Well done, Summit!

Summit Grill did not pass the test. I was really disappointed(and quite embarrassed actually) that I suggested this place as a Saturday night dinner spot when my parents and family friends were visiting. It was very loud & noisy and the food was mediocre. I had the fish, green beans and potatoes… They were ok. The other people in my party had fish tacos, the pot roast and a sandwich — the resounding agreement at the table was that everything was too salty. When 2 people returned their black beans due to the extremely high salt content, they were replaced with a double order of rice(that was on their plate to begin with), it was a weird move. I would possible go back for lunch— their sandwiches look great and the Reuben was the star of the table. Happy hour would also be appealing– we started with the calamari, and it was really delicious… probably even more so at happy hour prices :) I hope the best for this place, I like the concept and hope they make a few tweaks so they are able to succeed and thrive.

Summit Grill and Bar is a must visit. Seriously, stop what you are doing and head over right now. The ceasar salad needs to be your starter. The dressing is perfect and just the right level of warm not to wilt the lettuce, but keeping the warmer taste a ceasar needs. This could easily be a perfect meal with some chicken. I had the pork chop with fingerling potatoes, mushrooms, and brussel sprouts. The chop was perfectly cooked. A smokey, grilled taste that stood well on its own, but the addition of a sweet sauce just blew my taste buds away. Sadly, this location doesn’t regularly have the pork chop, you will have to go to Lee’s Summit for that. The veggies were perfectly roasted. A nice selection of veggies to compliment the pork chop. Service was fantastic. Decent whiskey sour. Fantastic selection of music. I love that Summit Grill and Bar is in my hood and can’t wait for spring and open door happy hours here! The only issue is that it isn’t clear if you seat yourself when walking in. Being late in the afternoon there wasn’t a host/hostess, but there is a stand making me think there is during peak hours.

I remember when this was the old Kennedy’s. The one that smelled like stale beer and was lit like a dungeon. Then the fire happened, then new Kennedy’s, then Remedy, and now there’s the new kid in town: Summit Grill and Bar. The atmosphere is similar to Remedy although slightly more modern, and the overall feel is not dissimilar to The Jacobson in the Crossroads. I have to say after sampling a large portion of the menu a few weeks back, I’m genuinely excited to go back here. Our group tried: –Spinach Artichoke dip which was just okay –Street tacos(chipotle steak, queso fresco & cilantro) which were delicious –Fried calamari which was excellent Then they brought out the big guns, and this is what has me wanting to go back: –Chicken Fried Chicken. This would normally make me think of something in a backroads diner but it was SO good. The whole table made short work of it. –Black Angus Ribeye: This is under $ 30 and cut with a butter knife it was cooked so well. Very flavorful. –Poutine, which tastes as good as it is fattening. They also have a brunch menu that sounds really solid, especially when you add a bottomless mimosa to it. Will definitely be back!
