I really appreciated my experience here, as I was ordering from out of town, for newly engaged friends. I had a specific delivery time as I wanted it to be at a certain location for the couple when they arrived. It all worked to plan, they put together a beautiful arrangement and translated what I wanted to say on the card correctly. The couple loved it!

I found this florist via Unilocal when I wanted to send my friend flowers from for her graduation. I’m in PA and everything went very smoothly! I ended up choosing the small Spathiphyllum (peace plant) instead figuring it’ll last longer than a flower arrangement. The plant arrived right on time and so much bigger and fuller than expected– it looks beautiful from the photos she’s sent! I definitely recommend this florist– the whole process couldn’t have been better.

After searching online for a local florist, I ordered via telephone a casket spray for my father’s funeral. The order was placed Monday, and delivered Friday on time. Little hassle, just a small hiccup with the billing transaction, but very reliable and as expected. The spray was arranged just as it appears on the website and the flowers were crisp and fresh. We saved a few roses for commemoration and they’re still looking good. Thank you for the wonderful flowers and making this task so simple.

I found myself stuck after ordering my flowers online from a 3^rd party site (learned my lesson) and my order got cancelled 2 hours before they needed to be delivered. I received an email saying that they could not find a local florist in the area.
I live in New York and started stressing because I needed the flowers delivered that day for a play opening for a friend and none of the 4 florists I called were able to deliver so late. At this point it was 5pm and florists close around 6/6.30. I then stumbled upon The Fiddly Fig and realized that they were my only hope to making this last minute floral miracle happen.
I called and explained my situation to Sheryl. Im sure she heard the stress and desperation in my voice as I knew that they were no longer making same day deliveries since they were closing soon. She looked up the address and she then says, «I’ll do this for you». Music to my ears! She went over and beyond the call of customer service duty to help me. She was able to not only create an amazing arrangement but she also delivered them within an hour of my order which was after closing hours.
The Fiddly Fig definitely came through for me in the clutch and Sheryl you are pretty damn awesome! Thank you so much once again for everything. As I told you, you made a cast member at the Kansas City Rep one happy individual that evening while simultaneously lowering my blood pressure!
I went in when I visited Kansas City from NYC just to say thanks and to give Sheryl a hug.

I received a dozen pink roses today from fiddle fig. The bouquet was as pictured online except that the roses were already beginning to turn brown at the edges and were all fully open. The bouquet seemed a bit past its prime — especially for the price.

This is my absolute favorite flower shop in all of Kansas City. Although I’m living in Austin now, KC is my hometown and I still have lots of friends and family there. Whenever I need an arrangement, I call them. I’ve never been disappointed in the freshness of the flowers and the downright cool arrangements. I’m also reminded of them every time I shop for flowers here because honestly, I have yet to find a comparable shop in Austin that delivered such creative arrangements and such beautiful, healthy flowers that last.
I also LOVE the shop itself. It’s not just a flower shop, it’s a fantastic boutique gift shop with some really unique items. It’s nostalgic for me because the shop is in the old Brookside Fire Station and I just love Brookside. I’m going back to KC for Christmas and am holding off on some of my shopping until I can get back into the Fiddly Fig. They have some of the BEST Christmas ornaments I’ve ever seen.

This place was super helpful! My mother had hip surgery today and I could only call a place on my lunch break while I am in Arizona to get her flowers delivered.
Even though there was a time crunch the flowers were beautiful and promptly delivered to her hospital room! I am normally not a flower sender but from now on I will definitely be using The Fiddly Fig.

A GREAT LOCAL STORE. Last week I walked into the store to order some flowers for Valentines Day. I was in a big hurry so I gave them a budget and asked if I could pick them up the following Monday. When I picked them up, I was very shocked, they looked worth well over the budget I had given them. My wife was extremely thrilled about the great arrangement they made. I could not have got anything like this from a grocery store florist. Thanks for the great service.

I love flower shops and I love Brookside, unfortunately, I don’t like Fiddly Fig. I have never ordered or received flowers from them so this review is not a reflection of their florists or their flower design. This review if for the retail store and the employees of the store.
I was told about some cool holiday décor that I friend had seen here. I stopped in during their holiday open house, found the merchandise and was excited about purchasing it. The help was awful. There was at least seven ladies and two men working this small area. NO ONE was pleasant, nice or helpful. They all seemed confused and could care less that I was spending a good amount of money. I stood there as «regulars» and «friends» of the employees came in and were greeted warmly and helped with much more passion than myself.
I came back a week later on just a normal weekend. I wanted more of the item I had purchased because I liked it so much and didn’t want them to be gone if I returned further down the road. Again, a room full of employees and again awful service. Confused and non-​enthusiastic. Maybe they are all seasonal help, but still, they are the face of your business if even for a month. If they aren’t seasonal, someone please help them with their hiring.
The store itself is too country for my liking, but I was thrilled to find the merchandise that I did. It will have to be a very special piece of retail for me to stop back in again. I just hope if I do, the sales help has found a smile and a «let me help you» kind of attitude.

When I am in town, I try to get by to see what new, rare, items they have.

Yes, it is a little pricey for my budget, but they sure have some quality arrangements that make the price worth it, especially if they are for someone close to you. If I just wanted a small bouquet of flowers, I probably wouldn’t come here, because I could find them cheaper somewhere else, but if I needed a large arrangement for a family member or friend, I would come here. The staff can help you great a flower arrangement based on your own taste and what you want it for, instead of just picking out an arrangement already made. I think that gives it a very personal touch.
Their website has a great representation of what arrangements they can do, which is organized by type of occasion. However, nothing really matches actually going into a florist and getting to see (and smell!) all the flowers firsthand! I worked at a flower shop for Valentine’s Day one year, and I’ll never forget how great it was to be able to work among flowers every day.
Besides flowers, they also have some great plants, including orchids, ficus, and some other baskets which are a hodgepodge of a few different kinds of plants.

Okay, I’m biased… I just love the name of this place, and the flowers are purty too.
I came in not in the mood for flowers, but simply wanted SOMEthing, ANYthing to make me feel better (it was one of those days…). Well the lady behind the counter knew just the trick. «Here, smell these. Aren’t they lovely?» With one whiff, I was back on track. Ah, flowers. Nature’s prozac. I felt much better, and smiled sweetly back at her. Then I was ready to check out their selection. Beautiful arrangements for fall, with gorgeous reds, oranges, green and yellow flowers. Simply stunning arrangements for weddings (they had photo’s), and really fantastic selection of generic and tropical varieties.
Besides the charming name, this place has a lot to it. Can’t wait to plan an event where flower bouquets are needed.

Excellent florist, it’s really something I’ve taken for granted having the Fig around for all those special occasions where flowers are a must: corsages for the date, arrangements for the funeral, bouquets for the mother’s day gift, roses to say I’m sorry, etc, etc.
My friend worked here all throughout high school (a great job to have) and I loved to visit her — the staff was so friendly and the place was always bustling with the latest, sweetest flower arrangement ready to be picked up.
Walking through the doors and instantly — organza here, lilies there, carnations on the seat cushions, tulips crowding the desk… like a building made of flowers on the inside, beautiful yet somehow clean in its own way.
If I forgot to order flowers from the Fig or I was on a time crunch… the flowers seemed to show it, like they screamed, «WE’RE NOT AS QUALITY AS FIG FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS… SORRY!» They always looked less well put together or like they cost less too… not the effect you want with flowers, certainly.
Make sure to call ahead, the prices are classic Brookside prices: not the cheapest you can find, but not the most expensive either.

I don’t live in Kansas City, but my parents have for a few years. It’s really nice having a florist there that can help out in sending flowers to my parents — and Fiddly Fig has come through many times.
Definitely a great shop, with helpful and courteous staff. They have been kind and patient over the phone and prompt with their deliveries. My parents seem to love the flowers that have been delivered, and I’m happy with the service I receive.
