Great experience. My husband and I reserved a two-week stay, but had to move the dates, and Rosewood people were very understanding about it and let us move it. The place we are staying is Rainforest Dew and we love it. Reasonably priced and away from the tourist crowds. The host is friendly and available.

Rosewood is a very beautifully maintained meringue yellow and white compound that houses a B&B, hostels and a couple of stand alone cottages. We stayed at the Victorian which has two bedrooms, with an indoor toilet/shower and an outdoor shower which is enclosed for adequate privacy. The Victoria’s back door opens up to a nice manicured landscaped back yard with plenty of bushes and fruit bearing trees. The price was reasonable at about $ 135 per night. There are many nice touches, like the heated bathroom floors, cable tv, stereo, a patio set out back, screened back wall and modern appliances in the kitchen, not to mention the welcome basket with goodies and the extensive landscaping. There was a fly in the ointment-so to speak. We arrived at the door at 12PM in the afternoon. The place was not cleaned after the previous guests had left. We left our bags and went out in search of food. When we came back 3 hours earlier, one of the owner’s granddaughter was in the bedroom making the beds. I failed to see any changed linen and thought nothing of it until… There was this pervasive odor of mildew on the bed in the master bedroom. I checked the sheets, the pillows and comforter. I could’t see any mold but as the week wore on, my son and I developed a cough that turned into bronchitis at home. The second bedroom must be reached by climbing a winding wooden staircase. The bedroom shares an open wall with the small kitchen and living area downstairs’ so if someone watches tv downstairs, you will definitely hear the tv. Overall, the place was nice but due to the icky housekeeping and health problems involving my toddler, I would not stay here again. It should be an ideal getaway for a couple, though!
