The food here is delicious! Garlic mahi mahi is my fave! They make it fresh when you are there. Not a well known place as they are pretty new, but very worth it!

I decided to take my family find r dinner since we had to kill te while waited for prescriptions to be filled. The customer service was friendly friends m the moment we walked in to the time we left. The food was fresh and tasty, the chicken katsu plate was loaded, the test beef sandwich meat was ono and tender and for a family of four less than $ 40. I would recommend.

I must say there customer service was very good. They were friendly from when I walked in. But as for the food. It was something else. I ordered the steak plate that they have advertised by chevron. Advertisements always gets me and that’s the reason why I decided to try their steak plate because I liked what I saw in the picture. Boy was it totally different from the picture when I got it. For the toss salad I don’t know if it was my fault but I had no dressing. I figured they would have put the dressing on the salad or in a container. I was bummed I had to eat salad with no dressing when I got home. Garlic fries though was ok. A lil soggy but that’s how I like it. Sad to say I just wished the picture they advertised matched the way the food was presented.

I was hesitant to try their food when they first opened. But since I work right upstairs from them, I wanted to try it out. I’m not really a chicken katsu person, but since my coworker ordered it one time for lunch, I tried some and I am quite impressed with how it tastes. It’s very tasty where as to loco moco or l&l, it doesn’t have that much taste to it unless you put the BBQ sauce. I usually order the BBQ chicken plate. Love how there’s a lot of taste to it and how it’s not as burnt looking as how some Korean places cook their chicken. My son loves it too. I would definitely recommend to place to everyone!!!

I ordered the family meal. Mahi mahi, chicken katsu, beef curry, BBQ chicken, rice, Mac salad and a 2 liter for about $ 25!!! What a bargain! The food was good local style fare. My only complaint is they(like every other plate lunch place on island) don’t stew the beef long enough to make it crazy tender like it would be if you made beef stew/curry at home. Other than that, I was happy. Freindly, clean and cheap. Doesn’t get much better than that. Wished the delivered to Ewa.

They Deliver! They Deliver to Ko Olina! Woo hoo! Well, with a $ 20 minimum order. We(in my office) has found this is one of our favorite places(besides various pizza locations) to order lunch. For one, they deliver in the area. For two, they send us 2 liter bottles with our orders. For three… food is yummy! One of my always buy items is garlic fries. Granted it makes the entire office smell like fries and everyone wants to steal a piece(which they do) but I swear, like Lay’s Potato Chips, you can’t just have one! I tried that once and it was an epic fail! the fries are crinkle cut and fat! Just the right amount of garlic mixed in too! My next favorite thing to order from here is their teriyaki steak. I get a mini, all rice and they never fail to get it right.(can’t speak for my co-worker who wanted all mixed green salad and got the normal scoop rice/scoop mac salad). My steak has always been tender with the perfect seasoning. If you are ordering in a group, I highly recommend their party size plates, depending on the number of people and if everyone agrees on the dishes. My office has ordered from Local Food Express so much they know us by name already! The staff there has always been so friendly on the phone and when they come to deliver to us. One day I’ll try to stop in but it’s so much more fun to do impromptu office potluck!

Ever since blazin’ steaks in Kapolei closed down, I’ve been looking for another restaurant that offers a steak plate at good price. This restaurant offers just that with their $ 7.99 steak special, which comes with nicely cooked steak, salad, and garlic fries(love the fries). I tend to throw in an extra scoop of rice for another $ 1 to complete the meal. I like to dip the fries and steak in the salad dressing(sweet white creamy dressing) that comes with the plate. I haven’t tried much else on the menu besides their orange chicken and their chicken katsu. All good stuff, on par with other restaurants like Loco Moco or L&L. Do patronize these brave young entrepreneurs, as these lads do offer quite an extensive menu of food, all at reasonable prices. I can connect to ATTWifi from the restaurant with my phone. So yeah, wherever that comes from, you can leech from it if you eat here.

So sad b/c I REALLY wanted to like this place… they tried so hard with their grand opening specials, and ambitious(probably over-ambitious) selection… there’s literally 50+ menu items to choose from! The 1st time I went, I got the mochiko chicken, which was a pile of way-overcooked, itty-bitty pieces of chicken. The taste was fine, but it was so hard & dry that I couldn’t eat more than a couple pieces… the rest went to waste(which is practically unheard of for me b/c I hate wasting). The only thing that saved my experience was the crab puffs, which were very similar to the ones my mom made when we were growing up… just cream cheese, garlic salt & imitation crab, stuffed into a super-crispy won ton triangle… sooo yummy! I think they also put a bit of minced celery or bell pepper(some kind of vegetable) inside, but not enough to throw off the taste… most places try to get all fancy by adding tons of other ingredients, which is so not necessary. The 2nd time I went, I got the special of the week: steak plate w/garlic french fries & tossed salad(except I got mac salad instead of tossed). I must say it was… ok. The fries were super crisp, with the right amount of garlic – enough to be flavorful without making me keel over from the pungency – and the mac salad was actually really good. The steak, unfortunately, was only so-so. Because the thickness of the cut was inconsistent, some parts were well-done, while other parts were a perfect medium-rare. There was also a lot of gristle & fatty chunks. *sigh* Once again, the crab puffs saved the day… though the filling seemed to contain more vegetable-matter than last time… NONONO! Less vegetable, more crab & cream cheese! Despite the disappointments, I am tempted to go back… I don’t know why. Damn my sentimental attachment to the crab puffs! Oh well. If I do go back for round 3, I’ll try to update my review afterwards. Hopefully with good news. Overly optimistic?

Went to their grand opening on the 1st day. They advertised $ 5 plates specials with photos of plates of garlic mahi mahi, chicken katsu and loco moco. Got there and found that only chicken or pork plates, $ 8.25 were eligible for the $ 5 special price. Disappointed w/the deceptive advertising, still decided to try out their loco moco and garlic chicken. Generously portioned w/white rice, mac/spaghetti salad, 2 hamburger patties, 2 fried eggs, all smothered w/brown gravy. Was not wowed by the loco moco. It was meh at most. Garlic chicken was little better, Chicken was crispy garlicky over white rice and mac salad. Went there again yesterday only bc Chun Wah Noodle was closing up for the evening. No one in restaurant eating, no steam trays of food out but only food to order available. Disappointed again but decided to make my take order. Ordered the large side dish of beef w/broccoli and large chow mein w/chicken. Didn’t think any one can mess up beef and broccoli and chicken chow mein. Boy, was I wrong! The broccoli was cut up in such large pieces and was total undercooked. No sauce or gravy and beef was under seasoned. Chow mein was also on the dry side and the veggies in it were also undercooked. Chefs spoke Cantonese so I’m surprised by the poor quality of the Cantonese dishes. Go to Kapolei Chinese restaurant for better Cantonese cuisine. Also the menu is way too big and spent too much time reading the menu. Don’t think I will return unless they have a reality check and improve their food and menu.

Local Food Express in Kapolei is a new drive in next to Starbucks. I believe they replaced Sumo Ramen and Curry. We went because of their«Grand Opening Special» promotion advertising«$ 5.00 for All Plate Lunches Reg. $ 8.25.» The ad has pictures of Chicken Katsu, Garlic Mahi Mahi, and Loco Moco. The appearance they presented was them running a $ 5 special for all their plate lunches which normally cost $ 8.25. It gave the impression that ALL Plate Lunches were for $ 5. Now comes their deception — what the ad failed to make clear was only their chicken and pork plates were on special. No beef or seafood plates — despite putting pictures on their ad. The garlic mahi mahi and loco moco wasn’t for $ 5 since the regular price is $ 8.95 and $ 8.55 respectively. Only plates regularly priced at $ 8.25 were the promotion $ 5 specials. That meant only 14 of 90 items on their menu were the specials. I hate when eating joints tries to pull a «fast one» over their customers just to draw us in. Making me feel stupid just made me avoid returning! $ 8.55 for loco moco? Unless it was made with kobe beef, I don’t think so! You guys are just another L & L rip-off thieves. I’m not recommending you to waste your hard earned dollar on just«another» expensive drive in. Go to En Fuego instead!
